That's one of the things I love about her approach to things. She's very humble about knowing what she's good at and what she doesn't know how to do exactly and has the confidence to go for it and try things. I value these character traits and I try to teach my kids to always try hard things so I love to see a content creator who can so naturally display these traits. Same with Skizz, he's like this too.
Also the ability to not stress about stuff that is out of your personal control. In that regard i am the same way. If there is some deadlinie i have to keep for example i will stress about it very much until it reaches a point i know, that its impossible to reach. Maybe because i have to wait for someone to deliver his part of a project, for example. Then i dont lose any sleep over it anymore. I think that skill is very important to stop yourself from burning out in a generally stressfull enviourment. And people working in the creative industry like Gem, Impulse or Grian for example, they need to keep the stresslevel under control because creativity and stress dont mix well.
Everyone needs a friend like Skizz. Dude Sent pictures of the event to his friends Mum. That might be one of the coolest thing I've heard in a long time.
I understand why he phrased it like that and not "would you have preferred for there to be another girl in her 20s there?", because Gem is great friends with the group she was with, and wishing more of them were similar to you is different to wishing there was a whole new person there
thats sooo funny lol. As a guy exactly gems age, I love that theyre looking out for her also as a guy gems age, she seems like a WONDERFUL friend to have
These are the kinds of community-building conversations we need to see more of: lovely cross-generational, cross-gender friendships based on respect and kindness wrapped up in a beautiful chat making sure boundaries were honoured. You guys are setting a tone for how we can break toxic behaviour in online communities and create spaces where people are people, regardless of difference or perceived difference. This is how we make change, and I'm proud of you all for not shying away from conversations that we often find challenging!
That was crazy! I can't believe they communicated that like that. Imp didn't even have an expression, let alone a word, yet Skizz knew exactly what he was thinking. I know they've had camera problems in previous episodes, but even so, that was amazing to watch.
I love Gem so much! As a current Med Lab Science student about to start my clinicals, I cannot understate how insane it is that Gem finished her day at the hospital, studied, and THEN recorded! I think its great she followed her true dreams and even though she went on a different path to me its still inspiring to take that leap of faith and do what you want!
I love that Skizz is getting more "air time" now with the Podcast, Life Series' and being part of the Hermitcraft Cinematic Universe with Decked Out. He seems such an awesome and genuine bloke
I'm right inbeween Gem and the Dads™️ in age and see some of myself in her, and hearing everything Imp and Skizz were saying (keeping her safe at the con, everything at the end) made me a little emotional. What a lovely group of people all around, and such a heartfelt conversation
I'll be honest: I'm pretty new in this channel. I'm basically a Hermicraft / Grian fan that happened to grow a bit curious about the other members of the Life Series and I stumbled onto this podcast channel. I've now watched both Mumbo's and Gem's episodes and I must say that these podcasts have raised a lot of questions in me, about how I've lived my life until now and where I should go from there (I'm 23 and just finished college). My respect for you both Skizz and Impulse, as well as Mumbo and Gem, has increased ten-fold and I'm profoundly admirative of this friendship and genuine honesty that you share with each other. Thank you for being you.
I am amazed on down to earth and mature Gem is. To go through life with the motto of “I can do that” and then seeing it through a doing it is awe inspiring. It is like she is immune to the major creativity killer ….. doubt. She just does it, she has an amazing head on her head. We all knew this for a while because “Gem is Great!”
29:48 Skizz, the director ….and that’s why you have no jealousy. From the OG YT videos, you have been the director. Before that, even, with drumming. Proud is definitely the natural emotion. ❤ The vision, seeing what can be, is a talent you use to great effect.
As someone who’s struggling to pick a direction in life, I envy Gem’s confidence in being able to decide what she wants to do. I think I’ll be able to find my passions if I take a few cues from her…
I think the takeaway from this is more that I didnt have the confidence to decide! I did 2 different diploma's in school, worked a huge variety of jobs, picked up several different hobbies. Not so much confidence in decision making, just confidence to keep trying
@@GeminiTayMCI also have no idea what I am going to do, and I will remember that. I will remember that I am not the only person who doesn't know what they are going to do, and that is ok.
59:57 As a person who was introverted and shy, being able to participate in drama class helped me find my voice, gain confidence and learn how to express myself to others. You do not have to be an outgoing effervescent person in order to do great work in drama. ( Felt the need to emphasize that I din't think that teacher was right).
Wow, 15 years ago I was 20 years old homeless and couch surfing in Toronto. I could never see myself where I am today, living in a nice cozy place with twin boys (that I swear I manifested into existence by accident lol) and just so happy and content. I have so much freedom with my time right now because I am focussed on my kids growth and my own growth, mentally/physically/emotionally/spiritually and even creatively. I have been putting so much time and effort into finding what inspires me and I finally feel like I have directions I can see for myself, for the first time in my life. I may be a super late bloomer, but that's the thing about 15 years out - you never know where you will be. I definitely didn't see myself as a single mom holding it down for her kids, that's for sure lol, or as someone who feels secure in themselves and is genuinely happy. So much can happen in 15 years, you can make many changes in that amount of time. Gem is great for sure, and she will do great things in that amount of time!
29:11 I’m right there with you skizz to some extent. I don’t care for attention directed at me. Makes me feel squiggly n awkward. But I absolutely love being a hype man for others. I feel absolutely amazing seeing to people I care for reach their dreams and get recognized for their hard work. No jealousy or envy, just deeply proud.
Their talking about the surreal feeling of seeing your online friends in person for the first time reminded me of a tweet I saw ages ago. “Having online friends is so weird. Like, I know your deepest darkest secrets but I’ve never seen your legs.”
1:03:35 (podcast spoiler) The comparison to mumbo is spot on. They’re both very similar in the way of being artistic and naturally drawn towards art, video, and making people smile. I think a lot of people in hermitcraft and empires are like that because that’s the reason you all came together. All of you are constantly inspiring so many people (me included). The second I get an opportunity to meet any of you in person I will and honestly I’ll just say “thank you”. Seriously thank you for doing this despite many people doubting that you can make a living off of it. The world is truly fueled by creative people who think for themselves and you guys are all doing that.
54:10 Something I don't think many people outside of RUclipsrs, and even a bit within RUclips, realize is that, unless you're a one-hit-wonder, you have developed many marketable skills that are very useful within "normal jobs" that can fill out a resume, you haven't just been "throwing your life away."
this is true and also it takes a LOT for someone to be forced off of youtube. even if the entire platform was gone in a day and never came back we have twitch, tik tok, a lot of social media and I'm sure a replacement for youtube would come up pretty quick. youtube is such an integral part of internet culture that even if you might get less views on other platforms and smaller channels would be lost forever to the void, a lot of content creators would easily make a quick comeback and be able to stay relevant on the internet. also even if someone is "cancelled" it takes a lot to make their views really dip or make them leave the internet. like there's so many youtubers who are genuinely horrible people and still make content and make money off of it. onision definitely fell way off but he STILL gets views and has fans and people still donate to him. once you've established an audience it's very hard to make them all leave. I think the fear that someone's youtube career could be gone in a day is kind of silly because that is so unlikely to happen and we only see the stuff that gets a lot of attention online like jenna marbles leaving but realistically that does not happen often enough to be a genuine fear for most people.
Skizz describing his compersion for Impulse's successes is so heartwarming. It restores my faith in masc/masc friendships; so often men are taught not to be vulnerable and caring with/for their friends, and it leads to the shallow and lonely friendships that so many men can't seem to break out of. So seeing men speak of each other with pride and love is one of my favourite things. Men, show your friends you love them, it's radical and healing and strengthening of all parts of you and your community. Be more Skizz 🥰 note how he shows care: he took videos to share with Impulse's mom because he knew she would value that, he showed up to watch his friend in things he wasnt involved in, he expresses excitement and pride in impulses achievements, and he mentions he might otherwise be jealous but his love for his friend only makes him happy to watch him up there, he doesn't interrupt Impulse's accounts of his experience, and he asks relevant follow up questions to show he's engaged. They both interact with such high respect for one another, no wonder they've been friends for so long ❤ I also love how honest Gem was about being a woman in this industry, how isolating it can be and where she struggles as well as the areas where she's so assured of herself. It speaks to so many women's experiences, and I love that she subtly maybe even unintentionally changed the question of "what advice would you give (to another woman looking to do what you do)" to "here's some advice (to the people around minorities to advocate for them)", it really hammered home to me that the truth is being a successful minority in any field does not guarantee success to any other minority if they "just did it right", or if they "just believed in themselves", the only way minorities become safer is by continuing to advocate for change among those who make it difficult to succeed. White people, cishet people, able bodied people, men, demand better of your content, expect them to show you diversity, expect them to treat their minority colleagues and friends with equity and respect. So... Imp and Skizz... when we seeing Pearl here? Gotta get the whole soup group on 🥰😘
One time I was at Kerry Park looking over the city, when there was a thunderstorm over it in the late evening. The lights plus the strikes so far away you couldn't hear it was gorgeous
Gem hands down one of my favorite You Tubers! Found her is 2020 on her let's play and hardcore world, then when she joined Hermit craft I was over the moon... Gem is Great, she really is. So much love for Impulse and Skizz, such awesome interviews, we always get more than we bargained for, but in a good way.
They're not Hermits, but would be a lot of fun to see Smallishbeans and Ldshadowlady on the podcast sometime! Talking about what it's like being in a marriage where they both are content creators. And hearing about their journey as a whole! But I also agree with all the comments above!
The impostor syndrome Skizz talks about is definitely something I’ve experienced with both my professional and creative lives so so so much. Granted, not on the same scale, but it’s such a real and prevalent experience. Thank you, Skizz, for your open honesty about it.
This is the most wholesome comment section on the internet. Right here. This is a field of flowers and people playing guitar having a laugh. I like it here 🥰
@@bluepiggaming204Because of the "Algorithm". Hence this comment. If you enjoy a video so much, you feel the need to spread/appreciate it. I sent a clip of this video to my seniors, that wrote my exam almost 3 weeks ago, and have no reason to still be on my WhatsApp group. Goodness like this needs to be spread. It be a dude liking & commenting his own comment, to indicate his appreciation and to do what he hope helps. I've done it a couple of times* *and then sheepishly deleted the draft instead of pressing the post button.
Gem talking about not dropping out if school and Skizz's response to that made me think of something Mama Dr. Jones (OBGYN here on RUclips) always says: You do the best you can with the information you have. I think about that alot.
One thing I love about gem is she has soooo much confidence. She isn't scared to try, or learn or do anything. Definitely a great role model for others today.
What a delight to listen to a GeminiTay interview. she reminds me of little bits of me, and of my daughters, and of my granddaughters, as well as a childhood friend. I am so glad you had her to talk to this week. Thanks!
You are the bests "extra" dad's❤ love to hear how you all care! That's warmed my heart so much! I'm a mum of two boy's and I know what feelings you must have when your kids go out if town! It's like a piece of your heart is on a journey 😊😊❤
listening to Gem, I see so much of myself in her, expecially when she talked about what she wanted to do, and when she is older what she sees her life as. I had those same goals, but none of the confidence. and I'm rooting for you so hard. and now i need to actually write that book.... becuase "I can do that."
The bit around the 50 and 57 minute mark relates to me a lot. I did an environmental degree because I had no idea what I wanted to do and was just interested in it, but it ended up being a total career failure and I've struggled to work out what to do instead. Everyone around me just went along with me when I was deciding to go down that route and no one really pressured or questioned it. So I can agree with a lot of what Skizz says here, about the uncertainty of whether something will work out and having something prepared for if it doesn't. Brilliant that the YT thing worked out for Gem and she hasn't needed that backup plan, but I think it's better to have that and not need it than the other way round. Just my perspective based on my own life experience and ending up on the other side of the whole dream job vs more "sensible" normal job thing.
To Gem's point about grandparents being more trusting, I think it's more that they have less stake in it and their responsibility is in how well your parents handle it. It's the same reason grandparents spoil grand kids while the parents are trying to moderate. But it definitely lands different. I'm sure that the point of experience and trust is also there, but I think that's built on trusting their children and knowing that they did all right, so the grandchildren will do good too.
I'm a late comer to these podcasts, but have really enjoyed the last few I've watched/listened to. It's nice seeing a real side of a content creators life, and not just a gaming avatar's life on a server.
I love that Gem's aspirations in 15 years are all artistic!! I've just taken the hard and dangerous turn into writing books full time, and I have a very similar path of doing all the science stuff before I got very serious with writing.
I was so surprised to hear that Gem used to be a figure skater, because I'm also a figure skater, doing the same kind of competitions/ice shows. So fun to learn that one of my favorite creators did the same sport that I do!
The number of community theatres out there.... Gem, they'd love to have you try. They love to teach and honestly the draw you'd have in that community would really help out. Go for it!
With the no kid hungry charity stream all day, I'm just coming back to finishing this now. At the 30 minute mark, when Skizz explains his pride for impulse. 💖 😭 The thing is, I get it. That's how I am with the people I love most. Makes my heart feel full. (kind of like with the charity stream)
Wow, Gem's first comments on Vegas is my favorite. I take all the dust and dirt for granted. I've never seen it as significant but yeah, cars left outside always accumulate dust. And the worst is that when it rains here, cars don't get clean: they get dirtier! All the humidity just helps dirt stick lol
As someone who is "smart" and also like science and biology. I enjoy seeing Gem's POV on this because i feel like she has a very similar personality to me. I do think that being in some sort of sciences is the "easy way" but my real passion in art, specifically photography.
Another amazing episode! I love these interviews you're doing! It's so fun to get to know these creators a little better and hear about their journey! And Gem was such a great guest (pun intended). I'm so glad you had her on!
I feel like good content creators don't surprise you guys when you meet them in person because part of being a good content creator is being genuine. Audiences can typically pick up on non-genuine creators, especially in a medium like streaming, because you have to "be" this person for long stretches of time, which means it easiest to be consistent if you are being more or less yourself.
A few guest suggestions! I'd love to see Pearl, cub, and Grian on the podcast. Also he's not really an mcyt anymore but I'd love to see Ranboo on the podcast. They used to participate in mcc, but the one in november was their last. Ran rose to popularity very quickly back in 2020 (they had just turned 17) and I think it would be very cool to talk to him about his experience as a young content creator, growing up watching mcyt content and then quickly becoming one himself. Ranboo is also working on a lot of projects right now, one of them being a horror project called generation loss, the first installment happened back in may of this year. Ranboo is very passionate, and having just turned 20, its wonderful to see them so driven to create.
This was a great episode, I think you could even make a good podcast with just random viewers and their stories and extracting more and more good and fun out of them. Gem was an amazing storyteller and you both were so genuine interested and asking questions. Love it.
I’ve only just recently found and listened to a handful of your podcast but you both have lit a fire under me. I love the simplicity of hearing someone else’s way of thinking and feeling “it’s just a mindset, everything that holds me back is a mindset and I can change my mindset.” I’m really looking forward to hearing more, thank you for moving me in the right direction!
I really appreciated your comments at the end of the podcast. Especially when impulse mentioned living in the moment. I struggle a lot with that and i have a lot of anxiety surrounding the future so hearing about trusting instincts and not just living in what might happen really helps me. I try to tell myself that but you really convinced me in a way. I really appreciate your words. Thank you!!
I have lived in western canada since 1980, but mostly in saskatchewan. Every time I drive west it hits me like that when I first see the moutains on the horizon. Along about Calgary they start appearing, impossible monoliths in the distance. This winter I am privileged to enjoy the climate of the pacific coast and I still react every time the moutains hove into view around the corner or through the trees. I womder what its like to take them for granted by people who live here, but I suspect they don't take it for granted like that. I know they freak out on the flat lands, though, feeling like they might fall out into the sky.
Wow! I had no idea that Gem went to school for Med Lab Science! That’s awesome! I am currently also studying that and I want to become a RUclipsr as well! Gem really encouraged me in this episode! Not to mention that we are both from Canada. I never realized how similar we are. That is so interesting!
it feels so strange to hear people talking about the craziness and surreal feeling of being introduced to a crowd of people on a stage but it's a relatively normal experience for me as a performer. It's interesting to hear the experience because it reminds me of when I first started participating in festivals and showcases.
Being closer to the age and characteristics of the 3 dads. I actually really enjoyed this podcast. I’ve since gone back and watched a few Gem RUclips videos. She’s a joy to watch.
I really love all of these guests on the podcast. Have you guys thought about maybe taking the podcast "on the road"? A nice start might be a trip to the UK. You could plan ahead and book in podcast recordings with people like Grian, False, Joel & Lizzie, Jimmy, Scott, Pixlriffs and so on. You have so many creator friends over there that I'm sure you would only need to bring the most essential equipment. I bet they could hook you up with a set and lights and things like that. I bet more in person guests could bring the podcast to the next level. In January content creation usually slows down, right? Just saying... might not be a bad time for something like this. 😉 If there is time over maybe Grian is willing to take you to one of the haunted houses he's been talking about.
I moved to vegas a few years ago, was previously in oklahoma and even tho oklahoma is sorta dryish it's crazy different for sure. you have to be so careful with drinking enough water bc you literally don't notice yourself sweating bc it evaporates so fast and you can get dehydrated so quick. I went hiking last year when it was like high 80s out and I felt like I drank soo much water I was scared I'd have to pee while on the mountain but I went the whole time without needing to pee LOL it's wild. also cars don't really get rusty here!! you don't really get water damage or anything it's just dirt/dust that you have to deal with so a lot of things stay pretty pristine. if you see a car that looks rusty or worn down it's probably not from nevada. I really love that there's basically no mosquitoes here but god I miss rain. rainy season in nevada is winter and summer but it's usually just short bursts of rain and rarely thunderstorms for some reason?? so we go a long time without getting any rain or maybe a bit of random drizzle which makes me a lil sad bc I love the coziness of storms. but I guess it's good because older parts of the city are NOT built for rain. we live in a nicer, kinda newer part of vegas that is very suburban but as you get towards the strip the roads are really not built for rain and you get insane flooding even after just 10 minutes of rain. we once drove a friend to the airport in the rain and it was actually scary how deep the water was in a lot of places and it was really difficult to drive through. thankfully the strip itself is kept up pretty well so most tourists don't really have to deal with that. but once it stops raining that shit is GONE. it evaporates so fast lol. the thing that surprised me the most when I first came to vegas was that it's literally SURROUNDED in mountains. all the stuff I'd seen about vegas in movies and stuff never really talked about the mountains but like. they're there lmao. there's so many mountains. there's so much cool naturey stuff around here, like even if you're not a sand enjoyer there's lake mead and the hoover dam which is all like in super rocky steep mountains and is scary but SO COOL to drive through, and some closeish mountains have some greenery, and there's still cool parks and gardens within vegas like I know there's a rose garden and the springs preserve I really wanna go to. my bf took me to a super green big park with lots of trees and ponds for my bday and it was sooo cozy and didn't feel like the desert at all. we went kayaking this month on a small portion of the colorado river (where it's very calm waters and easy to get around, we're beginners lol) and the water there is super green in the sunlight it's so neat. like I miss having grass (you literally can't have grass lawns here anymore unless you had grass already but they will PAY you to remove it atp) and trees and rain but vegas is so cool I love it here. also if you guys get to walk the strip in the future I'd love to hear which casino is your favorite! (if you happen to see comments on 6 month old vids lol.) gambling is awful but god those evil billionaires can make some beautiful buildings. my fav is the venetian, the one with the canal running through and all the intricate gold details and the fake sky ceiling loool. I'm actually taking inspiration from it for one of my minecraft builds and doing a fake sky ceiling because I'm in a snowy biome and can't have it all open. whenever friends are in town we go to the strip and spend a day walking around drinking and watching out friends gamble a bit but ngl I never get sick of it, everything on the strip is so fun and pretty :) ps skizz treating the age 27 like most 27 year olds are absolute morons is so funny but kind of comforting to me bc I'm 27 and feel like I have no idea what I'm doing most of the time, like I'm so bad at being an adult and being responsible for myself but I'm trying my best. I have a lot of friends around my age and I feel like they're very ahead of me in life or have more confidence but maybe I've just curated a really good friend group haha. I've definitely met some people who I feel like I'm shocked to learn they're the same age as me because they're just so emotionally immature and self centered. like damn ik I'm not good at being an adult human being but at least I'm not THAT bad. at least my issues are things like cleaning the house often enough or asking the walmart employee where I can find something and not like bullying people online and assuming everyone who doesn't particularly like me is a horrible terrible evil person who no one should ever be friends with. guess it could always be worse.
I love these podcasts! It brings so much new and enlightening information to different people and OF different people... but I sometimes listen to these and have to break, because I get mad at myself for KNOWING this is good advice, and NOT TAKING it for myself despite an impassioned drive to want to make a similar kind of shift they all have done in their lives. I am too comfortable in my current situation.
I loved Gem’s episodes. I’ve been watching her for a while now and it is quite inspiring. I’m trying to get a RUclips channel up and running soon and would love to make content creation my career.
Being dubbed "The 3 dads" is definitely a mark of honour

Gem is great
and not having imposter syndrome (40:14). shes unstoppable
Wouldn't call it quiet...
"Gem watches Imp&Skizz do tech stuff for 4 hours straight"
"Yes, you have imposter syndrome... i don't have that..." looking at Skizz with a "I'm concerned about you dad#2" was peak comedy 😅
Everyone needs a friend like Skizz. Dude Sent pictures of the event to his friends Mum. That might be one of the coolest thing I've heard in a long time.
"would you have preferred one of us to also be a girl in our twenties" IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST THING I'VE EVER HEARD FROM SKIZZ SKJSLKSJLK
That was so unexpected 😂
33:53 😂😂
i read this comment literally right before skizz said that LOL
I understand why he phrased it like that and not "would you have preferred for there to be another girl in her 20s there?", because Gem is great friends with the group she was with, and wishing more of them were similar to you is different to wishing there was a whole new person there
thats sooo funny lol. As a guy exactly gems age, I love that theyre looking out for her
also as a guy gems age, she seems like a WONDERFUL friend to have

I gotta say, I love this comment.
Preach!
This.
Imp & Skizz, you should do an episode with your wives about what it's like to be married to a youtuber/streamer.
Would love that!
Skizz's wife would do it and miss. Tango but Imp's wife doesn't want to do it.
Then, that case, we need one with Tango and Mrs. T together
i think Impulse mentioned that his wife would probably not be interested but I would love to have an episode with mrs T!
This is werry interesting
39:08 I love that Impulse didn't even have to say anything Skizz just knew what had happened.
I'm sorry, I can't get over the moment at like 39:07 when Impulse and Skizz just telepathically communicate about the camera being out 🤣
That was crazy! I can't believe they communicated that like that. Imp didn't even have an expression, let alone a word, yet Skizz knew exactly what he was thinking. I know they've had camera problems in previous episodes, but even so, that was amazing to watch.
I didn’t notice this. Thanks for pointing that out
IKR!
It's so cool. It showcases how well they know each other, their lifelong friendship shows and it's amazing
Im rewatching months later, but you can see Gem realizing something is wrong at the same time!
I was literally in tears when Skizz gave his advice to Gem at the end. He really is master when it comes complimenting and being open with people.
He has a very high level of empathy, just seems like he is very good at looking at things from viewpoints that aren't his own.
Clinical days drain your brain in a different kind of way 😅 I'm a few months from graduating and still don't want to do my homework after a shift

You should definitely eventually invite Grian. That would be interesting.
I fully agree
Yes, absolutely!
This!

I want them to interview a goat. 😂
@@n8_is_gr8 I was literally about to comment the same thing, then I saw your post!
This group of people are pretty amazing. I look up to Skizz, Tango, and Impulse quite a lot. They're like the father figures I never had growing up.
Gem is one of the best additions to Hermitcraft. This young and talented creator gives me hope!
im her age. im starting to feel old so seeing people call her young is helping me out a lot lol. maybe i AM young still
@@pvic6959 you are!
@@GeminiTayMC that's a great way to put it, not necessarily sure that this is what you want to do long term but happy to have a go and find out.
59:57 As a person who was introverted and shy, being able to participate in drama class helped me find my voice, gain confidence and learn how to express myself to others. You do not have to be an outgoing effervescent person in order to do great work in drama. ( Felt the need to emphasize that I din't think that teacher was right).
Precisely
'squiggly n awkward' yes I can relate and I will now describe that feeling as squiggly.
Their talking about the surreal feeling of seeing your online friends in person for the first time reminded me of a tweet I saw ages ago. “Having online friends is so weird. Like, I know your deepest darkest secrets but I’ve never seen your legs.”
Life series episode and an imp and skiz pod cast! What a great start for Friday!
dont forget about impulses 12 hour live stream!
1:03:35 (podcast spoiler)
The comparison to mumbo is spot on.
But you do have to be able to convince people you can successfully transfer those skills. Sometimes that's harder than it sounds.
this is true and also it takes a LOT for someone to be forced off of youtube. even if the entire platform was gone in a day and never came back we have twitch, tik tok, a lot of social media and I'm sure a replacement for youtube would come up pretty quick. youtube is such an integral part of internet culture that even if you might get less views on other platforms and smaller channels would be lost forever to the void, a lot of content creators would easily make a quick comeback and be able to stay relevant on the internet. also even if someone is "cancelled" it takes a lot to make their views really dip or make them leave the internet. like there's so many youtubers who are genuinely horrible people and still make content and make money off of it. onision definitely fell way off but he STILL gets views and has fans and people still donate to him. once you've established an audience it's very hard to make them all leave.
They both interact with such high respect for one another, no wonder they've been friends for so long ❤
I also love how honest Gem was about being a woman in this industry, how isolating it can be and where she struggles as well as the areas where she's so assured of herself.
Gotta get the whole soup group on 🥰😘
Seattle isnt always overcast! We have a lot of sunny days, as well as misty, drizzeling, raining, showering, pouring and many more!
GeminiTay a delight as always. Good job guys on the podcast.
I love Gem! I mean, I love you guys, but she adds a brilliant fresh perspective. Bring more women on the show, please!
Mrs Tango would bring such an amazing perspective as a teacher, the spouse of a content creator and someone who has dabbled in streaming herself.
@@piorfino Yes! 100% agree.
Agreed! Maybe ZombieCleo or PearlescentMoon?
They're not Hermits, but would be a lot of fun to see Smallishbeans and Ldshadowlady on the podcast sometime! Talking about what it's like being in a marriage where they both are content creators. And hearing about their journey as a whole!
But I also agree with all the comments above!
The impostor syndrome Skizz talks about is definitely something I’ve experienced with both my professional and creative lives so so so much. Granted, not on the same scale, but it’s such a real and prevalent experience.
Thank you, Skizz, for your open honesty about it.
I love to see the respect and admiration of the dads for Gem. 😋 Another stellar episode for Imp & Skizz! Loved it!
This is the most wholesome comment section on the internet. Right here. This is a field of flowers and people playing guitar having a laugh.
I like it here 🥰
I love that Gem just called out Skizz's imposture syndrome
What a wonderful spirit Gem has! What a delight to get to know her a bit more through this podcast! She brings the light with her :)
I watched part 1 four times. Glad the second part is out now.
I liked and commented on my own comment.
Deal with it.
Why?
You might want to sit down and consider your life choices, not sure your a genius or just regular weirdo
@@bluepiggaming204Because of the "Algorithm".

I've done it a couple of times*

"Theres so much dirt" - Geminislay 2023
I need Gem's "I can do that" attitude.
Gem talking about not dropping out if school and Skizz's response to that made me think of something Mama Dr. Jones (OBGYN here on RUclips) always says: You do the best you can with the information you have. I think about that alot.
Best description of Las Vegas to date, there is so much dirt! You have no grass.
loved this episode, the parts where skizz went into dad mode had me laughing so hard
One thing I love about gem is she has soooo much confidence. She isn't scared to try, or learn or do anything. Definitely a great role model for others today.
i dont really watch gem directly but same. im her age and my confidence is shot. i cant imagine where id be if i had her attitude
This trio is so wholesome. Great episode, guys.
listening to Gem, I see so much of myself in her, expecially when she talked about what she wanted to do, and when she is older what she sees her life as.
Especially if they were paying for it, lol. But if she's paying for it, do what you want!
Was very cosy again! Enjoy your weekend all.
I'm a late comer to these podcasts, but have really enjoyed the last few I've watched/listened to. It's nice seeing a real side of a content creators life, and not just a gaming avatar's life on a server.
Aww 37:00:00 (ish). Imp and Skizz have big brother energy lol
Skizz drops equally hilarious one-liners and profound life advice.
cried because I wish i could be as sweet and kind and smart as gem
It’s great coming home after a hard week and having an imp and skiz podcast to watch
Gem is such a wonderful person, its inspiring to hear her story
I love that Gem's aspirations in 15 years are all artistic!! I've just taken the hard and dangerous turn into writing books full time, and I have a very similar path of doing all the science stuff before I got very serious with writing.
Gem and Tango should do an on ice stream!!
Go for it!
This podcast is amazing, and the episodes with guest are the best. My appreciation of those people becomes so much higher after watching the episodes.
With the no kid hungry charity stream all day, I'm just coming back to finishing this now. At the 30 minute mark, when Skizz explains his pride for impulse. 💖 😭
The thing is, I get it. That's how I am with the people I love most. Makes my heart feel full. (kind of like with the charity stream)
Secret Life can wait. First gotta watch the new Podcast 😁
Proud of you Gem❤
During Twitch Con most of the strip was blocked off as they prepared for Formula 1. It would of been hard to see most things.
LOVED this episode and absolutely adore the podcast! I'd really like to see Etho on at some point.
That hour went by in a blink, enjoyed every second of it.
I loved this so much, Gem is so relatable and such an amazing human being. I feel lucky to get to know here through your podcast ☺✨
So heartwarming! The love and respect they all have for each other is so awesome.
Best thing for a Friday where you're home sick. Thanks Imp, Skizz, and Gem.
Hope feel better soon dude
Hope you feel better soon!
One more week till episode giggity 😁
jeez took me a minute
it feels so strange to hear people talking about the craziness and surreal feeling of being introduced to a crowd of people on a stage but it's a relatively normal experience for me as a performer. It's interesting to hear the experience because it reminds me of when I first started participating in festivals and showcases.
I loved how it looked like she was actually looking at them, nice work! Love this podcast!
Just wanted to say thank you for all the amazing podcasts you re making every week. I am amazed eveytime with the thing I learn from it. 💖
I'm older then Gem and I wanna grow up to be like Gem
My favourite episode yet. Love Gem and you both. im 21 and hearing your perspectives on life is really insightful
Such a lovely trio! Hope another con or event comes up and we get the honour of being taken along once more. This was precious
Such an amazing and fun guest to have on. And like skizz said, so wise and mature and confident -- much more so than I at her age.
100% having time off con would be a great experience for Vegas. I lived there 3yrs and once you get off the strip it's a completely different vibe.
I'm actually taking inspiration from it for one of my minecraft builds and doing a fake sky ceiling because I'm in a snowy biome and can't have it all open. whenever friends are in town we go to the strip and spend a day walking around drinking and watching out friends gamble a bit but ngl I never get sick of it, everything on the strip is so fun and pretty :)
ps skizz treating the age 27 like most 27 year olds are absolute morons is so funny but kind of comforting to me bc I'm 27 and feel like I have no idea what I'm doing most of the time, like I'm so bad at being an adult and being responsible for myself but I'm trying my best.
It's a simply and popular saying, but to the point and these podcasts have proved it....Gem is great! ❤
The cutest guest
I loved Gem’s episodes. I’ve been watching her for a while now and it is quite inspiring. I’m trying to get a RUclips channel up and running soon and would love to make content creation my career.
Imp and Skizz... Gem is outstanding during this interview. Thanks all u 3 as u made my day. Please keep it up.
We need Bdubs on the podcast!
