Ottoman, Turkish laminated Bow by Daylite Bows - Review

- When I saw the sleeve I knew its a private label production bow, BUT what a different beast it is!
The Ottoman Turkish bow by Daylite Bows. The carbon layer on the back and the narrow arrow pass are the two reasons for me to get this bow instead of all the other similar ones. Great performing bow with a minor vibration for a moment. Very well done Kim and thank you for sending me this pocket rocket :)

Excellent Ottoman bow does the job one wants. That layer of carbon makes a difference. Hey nice shooting Armin as always elegant and accurate. Enjoy the weekend 🙏😊🏹
More teaching videos would be awesome! I enjoy them and am sure other folks do as well. Your videos helped inspire me to learn eastern style archery, so many thanks to you!
I learned a lot from your teaching videos. I recommend them all over the internet and personally... Thanks again!
Looks like a solid bow that won’t break the bank, thank you Armin for sharing. And don’t listen to these negative types, there’s a reason you’ve got thousands of subscribers and they’ve probably got less than 5. God Bless 🏹🙏
I was JUST wondering YESTERDAY when we were gonna see another Ottoman bow. And now today Armin provides! Wonderful
Been waiting for this one since you posted the picture. My excitement is immeasurable 😎🎯❤🇺🇸🎉
26:22 I just completed my 21st year of teaching. As your student these past few months, I find your instructional method, differentiation, knowledge, and philosophies superb. I discovered my passion for archery first from your videos and then from the opportunities of your Patreon program. There are always people who feel they know a better way, yet good teachers know that it is the connections we make with each student that makes the biggest impact and is the most important. Thank you for your guidance, patience, and courage to create content. It builds our community, and I am grateful.
thank you Brian
Well spoken! Agree 100%! ☺️👍
Excited to review mine, interesting to see a Korean Turkish bow
This is a sweet little bow , absolutely perfect for entry level very forgiving yet would be very much appreciated by more advanced archers , that layer of carbon really makes the difference. Then we have our good buddy Armin to cheer us up and put us in a great mood to start the day , something I always look forward to. Thank you Armin 😊
my pleasure
they finally added the turkish bows thank you very much for the review.
That looks like a super good bow for the money, look like it handled really well and was able to launch the arrows very consistent, I really like daylight archery Bows
Armin, a great review as always (I think I've seen about 30 plus of yours!!). Thank you.
I only have a 27.5" draw (corner of mouth - Mediterranean), so I was quite happy getting the original Buck Trail Flint with 50# @28" especially since Merlin Archery are still selling them for £127.
Having the extra oomph does indeed make them go higher!
Especially since my other 2 horse bows are about 33/34lb @27.5".
My long standing horse bow (9 years +) is the Kaya KTB with carbon in the limbs giving 40# @31 but only 33# for me at 27.5
and my new Assyrian Bow from Bogar Archery (also from an outstanding review from Armin - many thanks again!) being 34#@28". Definitely my prettiest bow and the lightest at 256grams!
Looks like Daylite has a solid Turkish bow. A great review as always.
Snappy little bugger, me like it! Thank you Armin have a good weekend🙏💖
Don't let negative comments bother you amigo, there will always be negativity from those who want attention. You keep it going the way you are. I know everyone appreciates all you do. I do too
Another great review as always, a lot of setting up and time involved to bring us the nitty grittys.
4 am in QLD Australia and 5 deg.
But i feel like going outside to place a few arrows right now......ummmm...naa, too cold.
Nice bow too !
Thanks.
Cool little bow. Really seems to send those arrows humming
Haha, please Armin, do as many teaching videos as you can. I think the majority of us won't mind 😂
A nice bow for the price.
Thank You Armin, for another comprehensive review!
I bought this bow after I watched this video and I must say "aawessome" as well :)
Even as a beginner I could tell the difference to my other good turkish bow in the same weight (45#): The Daylite Ottoman has a clear edge over my Okcubaba Premium (which is not bad at all, just not as good). Will leave details to you when you do an updated ottoman bow comparison ;) (soon?)
Thank you, it was a lovely review.
Same as my AF Archery Turkish bow. The are sweet shooting bows. You can't beat them for the price.
Definitely the same and is a great bow.
Yes , looks to be identical to my 48" 40lbs AF Turkish horse bow. Very quiet shooter with my 1716 aluminum 375gr arrows. Good speed at that arrow weight. I have a 25.5" draw so I'm getting 34lb of draw.
Armin could you one day do a Video about Arrow F.O.C with different poundages, Arrow length, the "Perfect" F.O.C for Different bows etc. Basically your own "Horse bow Spine Chart", Most Spine charts on the internet are for Recurves, But Thumb draw bows are a bit Different
EDIT: i use 150-200 grain inserts to increase the F.O.C, it really affects accuracy for me
big thing... I will think about it
True. I Also use Heavy Brass inserts to get my 500-Spine Arrows Accurate on my 45-Pound Glass Fiber Bow. Recurve Spine Charts are way off & Different from Asiatic Bows!
Can’t teach? Hmm..the lesson for troll is how many of us
know how Excellent at teaching Mr. Hirmer is. I’ve been shooting arrows since 1971.
I’ve learnt more in 1 day of Armin Hirmer videos than I have in all the other 51 + years.
Thank you
small, light, solid and quiet. It's a bow I want to shoot. Thank you for the video
Great Bow! Great Review!
Interesting. I bought a Bucktrail Flint (30lb) following your review. It's great! Just does what it's supposed to do. This one looks a little better still.
Looking for a new turkish. Finding it hard to understand the difference between this and the Grozer Biocomposite turkish when they both get scored as high as he can. Would it really be as good for half the cost?
Haha, yeah that is exactly the AF Turkish bow I bought off Amazon. Same handle wrap and arrow pass material, same matte black outer layer. It's a good bow!
@drilliseditzfanzpage it doesn’t have the carbon layer or bear paw glass. It’s an entry level laminated bow. They also sell a Tatar now. 169 for Turkish 179 for Tatar and yes on Amazon mine is coming Friday.
AF archery has an Amazon store. Getting a great first laminated bow has never been easier.
I enjoy my monarq by daylite, so I'm quite keen on getting one of these now
Sometimes the bow is upsidedown ( writing on the upper limb ) and sometimes the right way maybe, the Writing is on the lower limb. But it feels like, it doesnt make any difference for your shooting. is this possible ?
Cheers from Germany
It looks like a nice little bow 👍🏼appreciate ya
God Bless.
Where can we find the "glove" you are using?
You were shooting the bow upside down before you noted the lack of scratching on the arrow pass.
Very pretty bow..very nice..
Nice review. And!!! Since you decided to do more instructional videos... May I suggest another video with your birchbark Xongkoro in full Manchu garb and Manchu technique?
garb is already prepared, but right now it is very hot here and the garb is more for colder climates :D
Please explain "F-value" of a bow? Thank so much.
And what is your favorite turkish Bow?
:D
I don’t have, there are too many good ones out
What Bow is better?
simsek hybrid s+ or grozer biocomposite?
:D I want to buy ohne of them
really depends. both awesome. if you like it small in the handle, go for Simsek. Grozer feels more "mature"
Great channel. Just wondering, how many bows you have in your collection?
haha not so many. right now maybe 60 :D
Hi Armin, Who makes your thumb glove? I've been looking for a good one.
I got mine from Freddie Archery
Hallo Armin! Was für einen Schießhandschuh verwendest Du?! Würde mich sehr interessieren. Unter der Anleitung Deiner Videos steige ich auch gerade auf Daumentechnik um. Und es macht ein riesen Spaß. LG aus Good old Germany
Hi. Ich habe ihn von Freddie Archery, ein Korean Glove. Hörte aber, dass der auch hier in online Shops erhältlich ist. Danke :)
Watching the video again after a long time on RUclips's recommendation!
9:50 Now I know. Why do you shooting the bow upside down? It was natural that the arrow pass was not scratched😂 (But the arrowpass durability of this bow is still good)
i have read somewhere that no one knows anymore how to make the 100 livres turkish , (or persian cant remenber well ) ,bow from the old times...but not sure....it was said it was one of the most powerfull in is time.
How does the Turkish style compare to the Korean style of bows? I love my fiberglass Turkish from alibow (sadly I messed up the serving and now need to find a new string…somewhere).
You can fix the serving :) they are quite similar yet different. Both short and fast, just different design
@@ArminHirmer yeah I was thinking a new string was gonna be a similar price as a roll of serving but it’s good practice and I love that little bow Tom much to wait for a string from China. I found it on Amazon way back in the day when you were doing your alibow fiberglass reviews indoors.
For a starter fiberglass bow both alibow Tatar and alibow Turkish are on Amazon its a great way to get into traditional recurve.
Armin I went to the site and clicked all of them but it still appears saying there are no products here?? 🤔 is the site down?
just wait a little
@@ArminHirmer ok thank you.
No scratching on the arrow pass... that was on the bottom when shooting.... happens to me too sometimes...
hehe saw it later
Speaking of traditional bow with carbon component, if I'm not wrong Alibow has released a premium laminated Tatar bow with carbon core reinforcement. They haven't send you one did they?
Nope :)
@@ArminHirmer Haha too bad, hopefully you could review it one day.
Where to buy this thumb guard?
It’s a glove from Freddy Archery
15:57 no scratches because you were shooting the bow upside down haha!
figured that out after :D
Looks like a bow for my list of bows to get. Also what happened to the Bowman and the Archer? Did you and Peter break up? lol
Hehe yeah we broke up, what Johnny Depp can do with Amber, we can too hahaha no, we just stopped for a while
@@ArminHirmer Left you for a female warrior did he? hahaha. Thanks for the update Armin you have yourself a good one!
How can i buy a bow from grozer archery?
best from their website: www.grozerarchery.com/rktr_e_m.htm
@@ArminHirmer ok thanks :)
Короткий и быстрый лук. Спасибо.
i'd bet good money both of those bows are made by AF. the "carbon" looks a lot like just black fiberglass.
this bow seems to have been removed from the daylite website already.
Thats what I was thinking too.
agreed. This is going to be a bucktrail flint doubled in price. Not believing one word lol
Just checked and it's on the site
Daylite was waiting for my review. It is not AF, as even AF buys from the same company :D and it is carbon....
@@johncuthbertson2565 i see no turkish bows there. Are you sure?
I just bought this bow and agree with Armin. Just one big caveat, you don't get replacement strings for this or other bows on the daylight website. You would have to buy another bow. That's rediculous.
Did you send an email? They just put the bow on the website maybe they forgot the string
meanwhile they have strings for their different bows on the website as well!
Der Bass im Intro erinnert sehr an "Stand By Me".
Inspired by you review I went to fire a few arrows in the garden, 5 arrows in my 26# plastic crab bow snapped 🥺, 5" down from center .. loved that bow. 😭
🤔Maybe 34" arrows took their toll on it. It was my fun bow too. Thankfully my second arsenal is in the post and this one is 40# so not too taxing for prolonged practice 👍. My world's a happier place with bows in it ...thank you Armin 🙏
Tried a few times to buy you a coffe but putting card details in was sooo difficult 🤷🏻♂️
Managed in the end but 😓.
🤔 does caffeine help in archery.
@@johncuthbertson2565 If coffee helps you feel balanced, focused, and at ease, sure☕️🏹
is good BOW
Nice photo intro .
The bow is upside down 😑
All the shooting sequences does seem like the bow is upside down... EDIT: Slow motion and after was right side up.
yeah saw it after :D
Yep, no scratches on arrowpass. :-) i should try this technique too. Good stuff as always. I miss archery talks.
