  • We've decided to start selling some hard-to-find mango varieties in 1-gallon pots! We hope that we can start selling some of these small grafted mango trees in Spring 2020.
We need a lot of seedlings for this project. Of course we've germinated many mango seeds, but we also had to get seedlings in other ways.

@@trumpisyourpresident-r1h any organic matter. The organic matter/peat moss retains moisture, whie the sand/perlite reduces clumping of soil, so the roots can grow more easily.

Is it necessary to do grafting? I have seedlings about 30cm tall. Why can't i just transfer to the garden and plant them.

Seedlings do not have the same dna as the parent tree which is why you graft, to get the same fruit. Also it shortens the amount of time before the new tree produces fruit

Hi, i experienced, that small mango seeds are less vigorous regarding stem and root growth than big seeds. What can i do in a 1 gallon pot with small weak seeds for better root and stem growth? Thx

Just put them in a bigger pot. Tall thin one. It seems such a shame to cut more of the root off
