I am a woman....and I noticed this years ago, women replacing men, not only in games, but in big movies and shows. When I pointed it out, everyone told me I was crazy. I don't hate men, and I don't feel better about myself when I see male characters being put down everywhere now. What's good about that? It's sexist, and it's hateful. As someone who studied printing, awfully lot of people (thankfully not our boi here) call that spelling error as a printing error, which is absolutely false! It is not the printer's job to spell check materials that they are commissioned to print, their duties are only have to make sure colours and alignments are correct when they are coming out of the machines.

Maybe the main character of Yotei is an "oppressed Ainu woman" out for revenge against the "evil japanese men". She does have kind of a tribal look to her, as does the voice actor. Also her wolf whispering thing, seems to track with kind of a tribal connection to nature and animals. Time will tell what they've cooked up, I'll certainly be there to watch the train wreck. I’m sorry but how did they lose credibility. With how good Tsushima was, shouldn’t they get some good will and benefit of the doubt shown their way. We really haven’t seen anything from the game either so I feel this is a leap.

That must become the future strat: all talented devs, especially Western, who’ve grown tired of the lack of creativity at corporatized legacy studios need to form their own studios and get funding via crowdfunding. This will create a vacuum at legacy studios which will result in them languishing even more. Space Marine 2 received harsh reviews from modern “journalists” yet it was a massive financial success. Current journalist opinions are irrelevant. User scores and sales are what truly matter and a studio comprised of talented gaming personnel would thrive.

Sounds like what happen with yotei is what happen with ubisoft and shadows, the game was actually going to be fine with a proper settings and character, but then some infections were hired, and started corrupting them from the inside and got the story changed to a ruined state. the last 3-4 years have been a slew of people who don't deserve to be hired coming in changing games for the worst, and now every one else suffers for it.
Throughout the course of 3 games, Liara never called herself, or been called, a "they". That should just end any discussion and make that board game so stupid.

The idea that the Veilguard devs looked at Guardians of the Galaxy and thought they could do that too, is both funny and rather revealing on how little they understand the concept of tone.
Just goes to show how one should not look at Dev companies like individuals, but more like sports teams. When the star players leave, it's a different team, and when the team demonstrates nothing but hostility and failure, then there is no reason to keep buying their games. It's a hard lesson to learn, sometimes, but it stuck for me after Mass Effect 3.
@@jakefrost7404 I prefer to look at them like restaurants. Some restaurants are good because of the menu, others because of the cooks and other because of their team. If they don't offer what I'm looking for or the quality drops significantly, I look elsewhere. If they don't care about putting out quality then I walk away.

Thats what I've been doing. Im glad i bought back ups to ps2, ps3 and ps4. I have two of each. I also kept alot of my old PC games, and have a PC that can play them. I have been buying old copies of Blu Rays and regular DVDs of movies and TV series like The Sopranos. I have 3 blue ray players, one is still brand new in the box. I probably have close to 870 blu rays. I have around 100 games. Im going to keep buying older games and movies.

I walked away from Sony after the PS4, they won't be missed. I'm currently playing Romancing Saga 2 and the System Shock remake while getting ready for Stalker 2, Gothic and Snake Eater remake as well as the Tales of Graces f remaster. I have no time in my life to play woke trash.
@@maskva-u6f No political stuff in the Stalker, the devs even said it doesn't belong in the game, there's also a decent amount of gameplay footage now to show how well the game is looking. The Gothic and Snake Eater are both faithful remakes like the System Shock remake, the Snake Eater is even using the original auto dialogue.
I have a bit of a different concern. Just because they jumped 300 years into the future doesn't mean they can't write an ending for Jin's story in this game. As someone who studied printing, awfully lot of people (thankfully not our boi here) call that spelling error as a printing error, which is absolutely false! It is not the printer's job to spell check materials that they are commissioned to print, their duties are only have to make sure colours and alignments are correct when they are coming out of the machines.

The Ainu people had their own language, religion, culture, and lifestyle, and lived mainly by hunting and fishing. However, from the Edo period (around the 17th century), the control of the Japanese central government (Tokugawa Shogunate) was strengthened, trade and regional control increased, and the Ainu people gradually became integrated into Japanese society. After the Tokugawa Shogunate's rule ended, the Meiji Era (1868) saw the accelerated development of Hokkaido, and much of the Ainu land was taken by the Japanese.

However, behind the scenes, Ainu as a profit-making interest has been seen as a problem.
1. Abuse of the Support Program
For many years, the Japanese government has provided subsidies and grants to the Ainu in order to promote their culture and improve their lives. The support includes the transmission of traditional Ainu culture and regional development. However, these support programs were not adequately audited, making it easy for fraudulent applications and concessions to occur.
Specifically, the following examples of fraud have been noted:
Inappropriate expense applications:Cases of inappropriate use of subsidies, such as using subsidies received in the name of supporting cultural activities for personal use.
Cases of improper use of eligibility requirements: Cases were also reported in which people who did not have Ainu roots were allowed to receive support for their ethnic Ainu status.
2. concentration of interests by certain groups
The fact that certain groups and organizations engaged in Ainu support activities have been solely responsible for receiving subsidies and grants has resulted in the concentration of funds and interests in the hands of certain people. In some cases, these groups exerted so much influence that it became difficult for other groups and individuals to receive support. In addition, there have been cases where organizations have developed activities under the guise of supporting the Ainu, but in reality have been criticized for engaging in dishonest economic activities or acting for the purpose of interest.
3. Conversion of Public Works Projects into Concessions
Public works projects for the Ainu people by the government and local governments have also been pointed out as hotbeds of corruption. For example, when public works projects in Hokkaido, such as Ainu cultural promotion facilities and tourism projects, are closely related to specific companies or organizations, they are sometimes criticized for being operated for profit and not contributing to the interests of the Ainu people as a whole.

Upopoi, opened in 2020, is a large-scale facility designed to promote and disseminate Ainu culture. The Japanese government has injected a huge budget of approximately 20 billion yen into the facility, and the concessions surrounding its operation have been called into question. Some have also questioned the effectiveness and transparency of its operation, and some have criticized the lack of monitoring and checks on the use of the budget.
5. Activities by Communist Party sympathizer groups
Unauthorized sympathizer groups of the Communist Party have been attracting attention on the Internet for their radical activities over the past two decades (Shibakitai/CRAC-north). They have been involved in radical activities similar to those of the Communist Party of the past, such as assaulting a demonstration by a conservative group, causing a police incident, and injuring people in a domestic quarrel among their own people. A small group of people who agreed with them was confirmed to be active in the Hokkaido Ainu issue, and it was rumored that the Communist Party might be involved.
Because of this history, an atmosphere of “don't carelessly touch the Ainu” has been fostered in Japan. If you raise questions about the Ainu issue, particularly the issue of corruption involving money, you will be labeled a “racist” and attacked. In addition, the promotion of Ainu culture is fine, but when examined carefully, some question whether the culture is really Ainu culture or not. For example, ironware that could not have been produced with the Ainu technology of the time has been found.
Golden Kamuy treated this situation relatively mildly and fairly.
It succeeded in portraying each of the Ainu people vividly, without making the mainland Japanese merely evil conquerors, and without making the Ainu people merely weak and oppressed.
Such a sense of balance is required of Yotei, and I do not believe that a foreign company with such radical activists should have touched such a sensitive issue in the first place.

Sounds like what happen with yotei is what happen with ubisoft and shadows, the game was actually going to be fine with a proper settings and character, but then some infections were hired, and started corrupting them from the inside and got the story changed to a ruined state. the last 3-4 years have been a slew of people who don't deserve to be hired coming in changing games for the worst, and now every one else suffers for it.

If they don't offer what I'm looking for or the quality drops significantly, I look elsewhere. If they don't care about putting out quality then I walk away.

Thats what I've been doing. Im glad i bought back ups to ps2, ps3 and ps4. I have two of each. I also kept alot of my old PC games, and have a PC that can play them. I have been buying old copies of Blu Rays and regular DVDs of movies and TV series like The Sopranos. I have 3 blue ray players, one is still brand new in the box. I probably have close to 870 blu rays. I have around 100 games. Im going to keep buying older games and movies.

The Gothic and Snake Eater are both faithful remakes like the System Shock remake, the Snake Eater is even using the original auto dialogue.

I thought Yotei was strange considering GoT ended with the heavy implication that Jin was going to the mainland
Ghost of Yotei should have continued the story of Tsushima. Unfortunately they killed Jin Sakai in favor of Otsu.
I have a bit of a different concern. Just because they jumped 300 years into the future doesn't mean they can't write an ending for Jin's story in this game. So it's possible that instead of leaving Jin's story an open book to come back to later down the line, they could write him out completely, forcing any subsequent game to retcon this one. Basically a diet TLOU2 situation, no where near as bad but conceptually the same. For example they could say that Jin died shortly after the first game and Yuna became the next Ghost.

I remember when THEY accused the devs of cultural appropriation who made Ghost of Tsushima because they're weren't Japanese but all of a sudden when THEY make Ghost of Yotei, it's totally fine.
Of course Japan is pissed. Not only is Assassins Creed sh1tting on Japan, but they as a country, praised Tsushima, placing items related to it in their museums, naming a spot on the island after something from the game, etc, etc. Now they see a 2nd game attacking their culture. Unbelievable.
