I was fortunate enough to grow up in Calabasas in the 60s,70s and 80s with a Mom and a Grandfather who were both in the behind the scenes work, I can’t tell you how many incredible stories I got to hear growing up. They both worked on those lots often and I miss them both but time marches on and change is inevitable. GIV thank you again for another great video.
Not only is the facade you tour in Lethal Weapon movie, but in the 1960’s it was the house from the TV series, “Hazel” and for one season of “Gidget” Starring Sally Fields. Also seen in The Monkees TV show and many other Screen Gems Productions.
Mike, the way you vlog makes me feel like I'm there. Your slow pace and not talking constantly make it feel as though a person was there by themselves. I agree with you. I could just sit for hours and just smile and enjoy. You should try to get back there when they are bulldozing everything!!!! Great job!!!!!!! THANK YOU MIKE!!!!! Looking forward for part 2,3,4, etc. This kind of stuff we feed on. We could never get there. We would never see this. That's one of the great things we love about you. Hollywood made this video for you. So happy you enjoyed yourself! Thanks again.
I know how you feel! Recently went to see the Hollywood sign, and the Adam West Batman cave, and then Hollywood Forever Cemetery. You get a very interesting feeling being in these places close to the people and places in cinema history.
It is very cool you were able to visit and document that iconic location before its destruction. That will be a sad day in the world of classic movie lovers. Amazing video buddy.. A🙌ESOME STUFF.
One thing I think is truly amazing is how they can use a house set like that and make it look one way for a movie and then completely change it to another look and reuse it over and over again it’s just amazing to me and along with that, this is a part of the movie history that’s never gonna be duplicated again, ☹️ because everything is going to CGI just a shame in a way i’m happy to say that you were able to do this Venice and you take care of yourself Mike be safe❤️🤠
The Bewitched house is the most iconic, it should be dismantled and moved to a location where it could be seen on a studio tour. Thanks for GiV'ng. 😎👍👍
I've always wondered on which lot they filmed The Middle. That was a funny show and I still look for it on Hulu from time to time. Thanks for the tour!
I've lived in the U.S. my whole life and I didnt even know this really still existed! Being a movie fan, I can only imagine how cool that was. Thank you for showing us GIV! I would haven't never see it otherwise! Great video! 👍👍
Man I’m so glad you paid tribute to Lethal Weapon house. So so sad it will be torn down:((( They are not making movies like this anymore.. God Bless America❤️ Big fan of you and your channel! Oskar from Slovakia.
Thank you *SO* much for being the FIRST person to truly give us what we all really wanted...to SEE the *behind* the scenes *magic* shots of what we don't see and what it really looks like behind the facade! This was an amazing tour. Funny, how it took a visiting foreigner to give us what we wanted😇
Thank you for this video. GIV. Yes, I’ve been there myself my cousin used to work there at the studio. I don’t remember what she did but she gave my family and I a tour and we had a Lotta fun and to go to the houses that you’re showing us but thank you this is your subscriber on the West Coast Los Angeles.
I hope you went inside the I Dream of Jeannie house in Part 2. Everyone who has been to the WB ranch forgets to cover it. We want to see inside & the backyard!
So happy for you Mike that you got to see those homes. You really deserve that. I also hope that someone from Universal will contact you to have your wish come true !!!!!
This is the most interesting thing I have seen on the internet in many years , it's a little overwhelming with all of the memories this is bringing out , great job and thank you .
Thank you so much for this. Even after growing up in California and being on sets with my work (even though I am in sciences now), it's always great to see these. When my dad started working in architectural design, he used to build some of the studio structures. Always fascinating. Christmas Vacation is my all-time favorite Christmas movie. And yes it does snow in California. We have some of the highest mountains in the United States with ski resorts and it snows seasonally. Not always in Los Angeles but Hollywood seems to make California and its beaches look like warm water, warm weather and it's not the case. It is a cool feeling to be there, and I am sure it is for you. It is somewhat sad to see that all to be destroyed. But it is Hollywood movie sets. Thank you again so much for sharing this first part.
You know Mike, you remind me so much of me as I was growing up in Hollywood. I was totally into movie stars, rock’n’roll stars, like Elvis, Ricky Nelson and so many others. My father was totally disillusioned with me😂. I love your enthusiasm and you remind me of a kid in a candy store. Never stop filming. Thank you❣️
Thanks so much for the context of the scenes that were filmed at these locations, matching up the pictures. And your friends giving the detailed info is great.
When I lived in Chicago back in the 90's was an Extra in Home Alone 2, Hoffa and Denis the Menace ( met the actors and experienced the joy of Hollywood ) - Life is what you make it.
Dear Mike, I LOVE your style and way of presenting, and touring us, so that we are going to these places with a good friend! It's just enough speech and information, and then time to look and reflect~!!!!! Thank you so much!!! I LOVE this Lot!! It's where I "spent my childhood", so to speak, watching The Partridge Family and Bewitched, etc. And by the way, So Sadly, the house that was demolished and torn down there, with the green cloth fence around it, that recently had been the Sheldons house, IS, THE PARTRIDGE FAMILY HOUSE!!! We are all sickened by what they did to that house, as alot of us were rallying to save The Partridge Family House, and the whole backlot. Actually Amazon, and Netflix were trying to buy it from the new owners, to save it as an historical landmark, as they are the ones who have been recently continuously filming there, on a regular basis. They even offered another piece of Real Estate as a trade, I found out. But the Investment Company hired to develop this land, so Warner Brothers could some day lease it back, they were just ruthless and unyielding.
I should have read more books as a kid - I have ADHD - I watched sooo much tv in the seventies growing up I didn't watch anything regularly after say I dunno early 90's - even tv in the eighties was getting too woke on the big networks - now with internet we can watch when/what/how much we want...but to your point too: we didn't have internet. So you'd ride your bike, play baseball come home and play board (Bored? lol) games and play Atari later on... and watch tv. I feel I know script/screenplay formula so well, I can predict what will happen on a Netflix show way in advance and my wife gets mad. I can hardly sit thru a movie - The Flash was actually good - but now more than ever I try to study and learn and make up for the missed learning of my youth.
Hey mike, I can’t believe they are tearing it all down, another sad moment, Christmas vacation and lethal weapon are 2 of my favorite movies and reminds me of my youth, I watch them every time they are on, thanks for sharing 😊
Looking forward to Part 2. It was always good fun to get to go to a studio lot with my dad for various reasons. The best was a prop sale at Paramount. Thought it was normal 😂
Thank you very much for yet another great video. This video brought me joy, tears of sadness, and good memories of movies and television shows I have watched over the years.
Ohhh the house of the 'gebratene Katze' lol the fried cat! That was so funny 😂😂 Great video Michael viel danke! And thank you to the guys who invited you along to tour this.
Happy for your G.I. V. Seemed like you were almost tearing up at times. I know you love this stuff. Next time I’m in LA I have to come do a video with you.
All I can think about when I see the Warner ranch is all the old shows I grew up watching, like Bewitched, I dream of Jeannie, The Partridge family, Gidget, just to name a few ❤ lucky you, that you got to tour Warner ranch ❤
WOW ... Danke, Danke, Danke !!! Danke
A lot of the interior shots for Lampoon were on soundstages. The gentleman on the tour was right it would seem much of the interior was filmed on a soundstage. The crew and equipment would make it impossible to have used the house for a lot of the interiors.
ahhh really feels like the end of an era😢 love ya channel❤ I know that its not exactly probably as structrually sound as home home but ya think with the massive homeless issue they would figure out some way to recycle them or repurpose them or something like reusing materials in someway instead of just demolishing a roof that could really benefit so many in some way😢 instead of tearing it down maybe recycle materials or some thing ya know lol
I am a big bewitched fan, so I came here to see if you included the bewitched house. Thank you for doing that. This might be the last time I ever get to see that house again live that is. I cannot believe they’re actually tearing office down, it really is horrible. The two executives in the company responsible for this obviously have no feelings for nostalgia or what everybody else thinks of stuff like this. Very cool Mike. I understand your emotion. Me and my family watch Christmas Vacation every year. We drink eggnog from our moose mugs when cousin Eddie has his😊😊😊😊😊. Everyone has their own mug which my wife bought from official website. Sad they are going to knock it down but I guess it's bound to happen at some point. Might as well be witness to the event.
LOOKS LIKE FILMING HOUSES,..YES!!! I LOVE THESE HOUSES BUT WHEN GROWING UP I REMEMBER BEWITCHED I WISH YOU WOULD OF GONE IN ,, BUT YOU GAVE US ALOT OF GREAT SHOTS,, SAD THERE GOING TO TAKE THEM DOWN ,, HISTORY.. THANKS!!
Hi Mike, Adam the woo has been here to document it as well, it's sad to see it go 😢 but time changes everything, thanks for sharing for us to see that can't be there. I do appreciate it. You have friends with you in the video lol. Thanks again.📸✌️😎

Hey will you Marry me 😂
tell some nice story you heard please

"hey Riggs"
I watched all those shows as a kid.
Christmas vacation is my favorite movie! It's sad to hear that these movie sets will be torned down..
Wow, Monkees!
That house is also used for I dream of jeannie as well as hazel And gidget

I know that backlot SO well. I've worked on that lot in various shows over many years. I'll miss the part they are tearing down. Thanks GIV!
So only a part?
Amazing...Thank you 🇩🇪 in Venice.
Appreciate seeing this before it will be taken down ! Luv&Peace GIV. Cheers to continued success friend 🙂✌🏼💫
Thanks Mike 👍🏻💪🏻✌🏻👏🏻 GIV always bringing great memories content.
Mike, you really out did yourself! Your use of the inserts for various scene location match ups was well done! Looking forward to part two!
I can only imagine that feeling!🤯 i use to think they were all filmed in neighborhoods!!!
I know how you feel! Recently went to see the Hollywood sign, and the Adam West Batman cave, and then Hollywood Forever Cemetery. You get a very interesting feeling being in these places close to the people and places in cinema history.
Thanks for the tour Mike!
This should be preserved 😢 this is literally movie history 😮 thanks GIV for sharing ❤ and preserving somehow 🙌😎
Totally agree .
After the MGM sale in the early 70s
I thought that wouldn’t happen again 😢
Sadly I was wrong
It is very cool you were able to visit and document that iconic location before its destruction. That will be a sad day in the world of classic movie lovers.
Amazing video buddy..
A🙌ESOME STUFF.
OMG, just, OMG!
It almost makes you want to cry, very emotional!!!
Thanks Mike, wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!

or maybe someone can just wiggle her nose?
@@studioshitaketakashita7093 Good idea, Tabitha is still alive. 😉
It should be a crime to destroy history.
I've always wondered on which lot they filmed The Middle. That was a funny show and I still look for it on Hulu from time to time. Thanks for the tour!
I love The Middle but everyone that tours this lot seems to skip it. I’m hoping it’s in part 2.
23:32 !!! They show the house and mention it is the house from The Middle!!
Just strated part 1 but can't wait for part 2 already lol Thanks GiV.
GIV always brings it
I've lived in the U.S. my whole life and I didnt even know this really still existed! Being a movie fan, I can only imagine how cool that was. Thank you for showing us GIV! I would haven't never see it otherwise! Great video! 👍👍

*RIP Warner Brothers Ranch.*
It took a year but it's all gone as of Oct 2023.

Thank you GIV for another amazing video. Brings back memories for me seeing this, ROCK ON!!!!!!😊💕
Can't wait for Part 2. I hope you show the Bewitched house, since you kept talking about it. That's the only house I really want to see
Yes
TheDailyWoo also went through that lot and showed the Bewitched set inside and out. It’s on his RUclips channel. Both tours very interesting.
@@richardpiva3892 Thank you. I'll check it out. I only know about that channel because of Mike.

Love the honoring of the history and what a privilege. Thanks for sharing, it's a gem.

the set builders are incredible at what they do and its awsome too see these houses and love too your mum mike hope she is well

Those are fake materials and plywood. Not suitable for an actual house and much too expensive to repurpose

the Walton's house was also In Gilmore girls The Dragon Fly Inn.
GIV-aka Mike ❤ you friend. Thanks for sharing
This is crazy that they would tear down these houses. This is iconic stuff

Don't count on anything low income being built around THERE. It's PRIME real estate near any of the studios.
