I was just recently in Yucca Valley. I took a picture of the interstate 15 sign and today I try to make a replica to hang in my apartment. I bought all the wood at the Home Depot and I completed the artwork in my store came out really good.
Mike helped me load some cement board into my truck at Home Depot, probably when he was filming this. I was trying to do it myself, and I see these hands grab the other side, I look up, and it's him! Without even asking, he just jumped in to help me. Super good hearted guy. Thanks Mike - I left you something on PayPal a few weeks ago when you filmed this...Need more kind people in Venice like you!

One thing I like as an native Angeleno is to vicariously enjoy LA through the eyes of someone who’s not originally from LA…your joy you display about LA renews my joy in my home city..you and Huel Howser are the only two who did that for me as non LA natives living in LA
G L66, he has been living in LA for 34 years, since 1989, so to me, that is enough time, coupled with him speaking the language and observing the culture, to consider him as being from LA. By the way, he lived in Germany for much less time than that
Hi Mike, maybe you can make postcard sized magnets of your sign or your other artwork for people to buy for $25 or so to sell in the store - higher volume, lower price?

Actually I was thinking how much work that is, compared to just stealing a sign *lol* (I wouldn't but I bet there are people watching this who would.)
Don’t sell it, keep it for yourself GIV and put it up in your apartment, it will make you happy. What you need to do Mike is sell merchandise on your channel like a lot of people do. Come up with a cool GIV logo and put it on t-shirts, hats, mugs, hoodies, key chains etc.. a’lot of people would buy them and also why not get sponsors for your channel like many popular RUclipsrs do. You could make some great extra money, especially with the merchandise. Think about it.
Yes, without the pole he can sell iconic stuff like this and 101 and 66 signs internationally in a heartbeat. And his photographs are so amazing and beautiful, he is a fantastic artist and you tuber at the same time. Keep the store and do more art and you are charging far too little for your art. You are hip and popular around the world so don't underestimate the value of your work. Even though you were born in Germany you are more of an American than most of our country today and that's why I like you so much...
You have so many great photos - make art to sell... not to big or expensive.

I have a suggestion how about cleaning up your store paint it maybe white to reflect more light in the store then display all your art and still do your Hanna sell your art. You can also sell shirts of you surrounded by your favourite spots of the beach and LA and also hats. Other RUclipsrs are doing it. You can turn your store into a GIV souvenir shop and hire someone be there while you’re doing videos so you don’t lose business.

This is the first time I've seen your true artistic talent Mike and I'm really blown away. You are so talented and original in both media's that you have to share yourself to both of them. Keep your store and use you to make your artwork more famous and valuable for god sake. You are selling your art way too cheap, have some lower priced stuff for the tourists but your value is you and your personality and style of art. Get a young person who has internet skills and give them a % and watch the shop become famous and profitable...

nobody sends postcards anymore , for the most part that ended in the 1990's
I love postcards and create them for myself and other businesses. They are very much part of 2023. Old and new postcards are sent and collected!
Yes but a very few of us collect them. I've ones from everywhere and each decade going back to the 1800's .

GIV, have you considered making your storefront a souvenir shop and local art exhibit place? Like, souvenirs of SoCal folklore, landscape and celebrities. The "partnership" with your RUclips fame would bring people in, and you can store GIV merch! PS - you need another sign that says, "Please come in and welcome to the GIV store!". Most tourists might be too respectful or shy to enter your space if you look like you are busy working on a project! 😅
