The new version looks impressive, but I'll miss the original Salazar. He came across as more distinctly memorable in how snide and pompous he was. The delivery of lines like, "You're not worth a penny, I'm afraid." were great.

They wanted to make the new Salazar more serious and threatening, aside from the traps and Garrador, the OG castle was so corny, Leon didn't even take Salazar seriously, not even when he turned into a mutant plant thing.
100% really poor design choice. Hes incredible creepy as a tiny napoleon man.... Now he looks like a less creepy gary oldman from Dracula.

The reason Leon says "No thanks, bro" is because Ramón Salazar refers to them as brethren due to the Las Plagas parasite injected into Leon earlier in the game.

Well that’s clearly not the start of the scene. Leon is getting up off of the floor when he says the rookie line. Something obviously happens before that.

Came here just to make one point.
In the original knife scene Leon always keeps his defensive guard, he switches his knife hand to hand depending on his feet's positions(if left leg in front knife in left hand and vice versa). Back then devs really were creative and knew what they were doing.
Yeah honestly it would of been way better to keep it like the old one, but nooo too many players with sht reflexes didnt like quick time events.

@@Omega77232 Who is going to want to parry knives irl? Most people are gonna want to dodge rather than parry yes they're both trained combatants but even then trained combatants wouldn't aim for the knife they'd look for a weak point and target it.

Damn, this game is really bringing back so many childhood memories, The old Ramon had a lot more sass, cunning and was child like but the new Ramon is a lot more more intimidating. Leon had a lot more cheesy comeback lines too in the old version as well.

It has cheesy liners too, but they don't feel like in the original cuz remake overall have more serious tone. BUT STILL LEON IS CHEeSY
It seems to be more serious in the part of scenes and voice acting, but in gameplay and mecanics it looks a little bit unreal like the knife and the parry thing

pretty sure most of them are still alive and still pretty young, probably still playing the game and also know about the remake... like me. It's not that long time ago. The graphic jump is not that tremendously super big too. still excited though to try the remake.
