Glad you guys are more or less digging this album so far. I think it’s one of those albums that you kind of had to be there for, if that makes sense? Like, this was their third album, they were starting to gain a bigger fan base and it was really where they started to solidify their sound. It caught a lot of people off guard, in a good way. The way they began to tell stories and paint mental images, I always called them Springsteen-punk….kind of akin to Gaslight Anthem or Loved Ones/Dave Hause. I think that’s the nostalgic feel you guys were describing.

Glad you're enjoying it overall. They are from Scranton, PA.
Ava House is the name of a community punk house in Philadelphia where local punks would hang out and local bands would play from like 2008-10. Eventually the house got shut down by the landlord. The Menzingers played there multiple times when they moved from Scranton to Philly and the house was important because establishing them in the punk scene there.
