Thanks for highlighting my favorite local trail in NoVa. Big shout out to Jeff and his work with MORE. Come back and check out the BROT and Lake Fairfax Nova. #Nova MTB
Love your channel Forest ... My friend lives in Culpeper VA and is picking up MTB again along with his son. He asked if I know of any trails in the area, but I'm in PA so I only have RUclips and Google to go on. After watching your videos I recommended Fountainhead and Pocahontas. Looks like there's some good trails to the west, but not sure how good it is for a beginner. Do you think those 2 are the best spots or any others in the area you'd recommend? Both are about an hour away, which isn't bad for a weekend ride, but wondering if there's anything closer. Thanks!!
Hey! Thanks for the message. We have Preddy creek here in Cville that would be PERFECT for someone getting back into MTB or just starting out. It’s super fast and flowy and a blast for more skilled riders as well. Thanks for sharing the FLOW 🤘
@@FoCoFlowShow you're the man Forest, thank you! Oh and watched your Best of 2022 video and saw your son is into it too .... I'm 40 and my teenage son is just as addicted as me. It's great cause he'd normally want to just hang out with his friends like any teenager, but we go riding together pretty much every weekend in the spring and summer (mostly bike parks). Won't be long before your little guy leaves you in the dust! Zero fear, big dreams and starting young, he'll be hitting that drop on Hooch and cupcake drop at Snowshoe before you know it!!
We have family not far from there and I’ve planned twice to get a ride in when going up there to visit. Both times it rained the days before and trails were closed. After watching this I gotta make it happen! Great video!
@@FoCoFlowShow Do you really feel the difference in the Vibrocore bars? I recently bought a 40 mm height bars from Spank. But I end up returning then because I felt they were going to be to height for Fountainhead. This trail is my to go trail all the time.
@@imdavid1876 I do think they minimize vibration SOME but they don’t completely eliminate it either. Similar feel to carbon bars IMO so I definitely like them
I went there. Recognized the parking lot in the video. I only found one trail. The bull run. Are there other trail heads for the black and green trails?
@@FoCoFlowShowyup, you're right. I knew about that trail but for some reason I swore I'd read there were no bikes allowed. Just checked, and they are...but only on specific sections which I didn't realize before. Cool. I'll have to try that out next time I'm there, looks like 13 miles if you go out and back from the Marina.
@@FoCoFlowShow if you pause at ?t=415 you can see them off to the left. Given that you cleared the whole black loop and the blue log ride, I think you can check those off. They're good practice for the mortals, though!
Awesome video, I'm in NOVA...Manassas and plan on hitting fountainhead up! Thanks for the video! 🤙🏼
Awesome... let me know if you ever head south - the riding along the i-81 cooridoor from winchester through blackburg is INCREDIBLE.
This is in the Washington Metropolitan Area? Wow
Right in the area they have 5+ MTB trails within miles of each other. I'm moving to northern VA
Yessir - lake Fairfax park is also great - I have a video coming soon on that one
I was looking for a mountain biking places in dc for so long . Thanks🎉🎉🎉
Did you see my video on Lake Fairfax from last month? Another GOOD ONE in the area!
How long is this trail or in how much time did you guys complete it?
There’s 14+ miles there if you do all 3 loops - would take 3+ hours to do it all
Appreciate your response, thank you! 😊

My pleasure! Jeff mentioned BROT as the next place I need to hit - I will def try and get up there this fall. 🤘

@@topspot4834 it’s gonna be a sad and proud day when her hits the first gap I’m too scared to hit - lol - I can’t wait

Thanks! Def worth it - tons of flow and variety to keep things interesting
Nice video Buddy,,
When you are in the area check
Meadowood recreational area!
Is a very fun trail
They are on my list!
"It's so pretty and smells so good!" lol. Good stuff Forrest. This place is on my hit list for sure.
It’s super fun - definitely worth a trip!
Okay, so I only leave 30 min from the park, and seeing you drove that far made me feel very lucky!
Its an awesome trail system
Just curious. What is rise is your spank handle bar?
35mm

Not that I'm aware of. I was there this afternoon. Maybe he means the other two systems close by, laurel hill and meadowood are both in the area.
Bull Run goes "west" Fountainhead goes "east" same parking lot - two different trail systems

@@mikeriley1475 yep - bikes weren’t allowed until a few years ago
@@FoCoFlowShow Is it any good? Or better to just stick with the loops in the video?
My hometown trails! So good, nice job with the drops 👌 did you session the skinnies at the start/finish of black?
Such a cool trail system - we did a couple of skinnies near the end of black but might have missed a section

@@jeffstream6900 ahh - gotcha … Hahha - it’s all relative - such a cool trail system!
Is this a chest mounted gopro?
Yessir - stuntman chest mount gopro hero 9 black
This has got to be the year I figure out how to enter the black loop... right?
Sort of slow and steady seems to be key - watching Kevin Carroll handle it like a "moment of zen" definitely showed the way
I find that if you just pedal your bike over the rocks it goes pretty well 🙃
wanted to ride them on vacation ; trails were closed !
Bummer! Too wet?
@@FoCoFlowShow yes sir
sick video dude
Thanks man!
@@FoCoFlowShow np keep sending it
