i have a whole list of things i think would improve cas but just one would be for them to add a “apply to all” button for certain things like makeup, piercings, jewlery, etc. I hate having to re-add piercings and nail polish to EVERY outfit and miss at least one thing each time i make a sim.

Especially when you want to give a sim a signature itam. (like a necklace) but it's somehow only in the like swim category or something- so you have to undo the default filters and add it... but, probably end up with 7 of the same outfit because you forget to turn the filter on again. OR you completely forget to add the item to half the outfits and you dont realize till the loading screen already started...
Dont even get me started on adding light "natural" makeup for depth. (i like a cartoonie style to avoid the uncany Valley but the cc skin i use is very flat (lips same color as the rest of the skin and everything). But the cc lipstick i use that looks most natural on most skin has like a million swatches and i can never remember which one i used.

MC Command Center is a mod I use that works great for that! You can copy makeup to accessories to all outfits or paste them between sims. You can also use it to quickly change relationship/friendship levels with sims and a whole bunch of other things 😁

There is a shorter teens mod! Sadly to make it work with pre-made sims you have to use MCC command centre to age them up to young adult and then back to teen to make it work just as with teens that were made before you downloaded the mod

Do you have the wider columns mod? That helps with a lot of the makeup, I’ve got like all of gpme’s stuff and it’s a lot easier with collums, it takes it from 2 to 3, 4 or 5.

If you don't mind adding just one mod to the game, i highly recommend MC command Center. Aside from being able to change pretty much anything in your game, it allows you to copy and paste accessories, makeup, hair and entire outfits. Decided you prefer the party outfit ypu made for everyday instead? Paste it into everyday. You can even do this to any sim of the same gender, not just your household. Seriously, it's like 30 mods in one, and its always updated

I normally age up my sims to teen when I do genetics so I can see how they will look when they grow up and then age them down to infants, toddlers or children that way I know they'll grow up looking good and not weird.

I really wish you could add more depth to your sims backstory when creating them! Do my ADULT sims really have no skills or friends going into the game?
I wish there were an option like “preset townie relationship” or something. And it’s be so damn easy to just put sliders for skills near the traits category. And adding to that, sometimes sims are married but hate eachother! It’s so tedious to have to get their relationship down manually! Just add a bar for relationship underneath family dynamic!

What I learned for the toddlers and babies part is that you have to create them when they’re an adult or teen then age them down to be a baby or toddler so when they grow up they look exactly how you want them to look as adult 🤷🏾‍♀️

Yep! Same when creating elders, start by making them YA first then given them all the features you want, then age to elder. All my born in game children though have all been pretty cute :) so I've not had the weird issue of them looking random, only their clothing.

a lot of layering is actually technically impossible in ts4, because every cas item's texture is placed on a uv map of a sim, and the uv map is limited by size (1024×2048 pixels) and areas for each individual category (e.g. top, bottom, hair, bracelet on the left wrist, ring on the right index finger, and so on). if the textures of two items overlap on the uv map, you see them clipping/disappearing/having weird colors when you try to use them together. i was a bit upset about this too, until i started learning how to make cc myself and got an understanding of how cas items work in ts4 :(

Annoys me to no end cause the first few times, I made a whole ass sim with the fits and everything, only to realise that I didn't make them an occult sim so I had to go on ever single section(face, hair, body, outfits) and manually copy everything. Learnt my lesson but still annoys me to no end.

I'm in the process of making multigeneration sims with the same features - hair color and eyes. the hair color is fine, but i have to go to full edit mode cas to give them the proper eye color and make it so they don't look like strippers with how the sims generate the clothing on them 😭😭😭

The two things I dislike the most is the hair colors (it’s so limited on the regular game) and I dislike that the ankles and the calf muscles are locked yo the same slider, because I’d like to make slimmer ankles without having to make the calf muscle smaller as well. They added pronouns but if you have a sim with they/them pronouns the messages won’t grammatically make sense like it’ll say “they is” instead of “they are” I love that they are trying to be inclusive but it gives me a headache trying to rewrite these messages while I read them

In CAS, if they would allow a "base tab" or a way to pin and item, so you can add all thing things that you plan on being consistent throughout the rest of their outfits. That was something I wish they carried over from the Sims 3. You could decide whether you wanted the hair the same for every outfit or not and just by default they kept the make up the same until you changed it yourself. It was way more user-friendly. 😔
Also aging up felt a little less like getting a random sim.

For makeup, I always do the look I want sans clothing and add my 4 other looks. Then I can go in and add my clothing and the makeup is done. Hope that helps someone. I do the same foe wedding rings

That last one hits hard.
It’s bothered me to the point where I go into fulleditcas and set my sims entire wardrobe/appearance for all life stages when they become infants.
The game will still remember the selections for when they age up down the line so I don’t have to keep popping in and out to edit them.
Only downside is now I have to go through and create, style and dress a sim for all life stages at once which can take a min depending on how into cas you are 🥴

Are you on PC? There’s a mod for this! Set Family Relationships mod. It doesn’t change the family tree, just adds familial relationship bits to the relationship panel, but since you’re deleting the mom sim anyway, I don’t think that’ll be a problem.

My least favorite is that you have to select masculine or feminine clothing preference for your sim and if you want to see all clothing options you have to manually deselect it for every category for every outfit and it’s SUCH a pain. also i created a child in cas, realized I made it a boy instead of a girl like I intended(or maybe it was vice versa I dont remember) and all of the outfits i had given them got randomized again. the good thing is that at least children look the same male or female.

in Sims 3 I remember that there isn't a party outfit but instead for formal you can make them wear formal dresses or a very sexy dress a typical party dress

If I'm premaking a toddler I will usually age them up to YA to make their facial features then age them back down to the baby age, but you're right it is silly to have to
