@LaughingOutKraut I hope you understand that techno isn't made for listening to on your laptop speakers at home. This track, just like the majority of techno, is meant to be dropped in a dj set in a packed club and maybe play for 2-3 minutes or so. If your lucky to hear this track on a night out, you won't think it's repetetive - you would think it's HUGE.
If you play two copies at the same time, and juggle them back and forth slightly out of sync, you can get some pretty cool effects coming out. Robert Hood frequently does this when he DJs. Yes, it's super minimal, it's a mixing tool.
man man man this is evolution,... there is some awsome new music just to chill out, to dance, to break and to house, to step and to lounge... also new rock can be good with bands like Black motor revelation, The Black Keys or whatever... and every genre can be lovely... i'm glad not going out on The Beatles when i want to dance the night away.... different moods, different styles. Open up.
ashishleel those days are over...no more black boogers and lost of hearing and random people for breakfast....now everything is organized and clean and above ground. No more car trains being chased by the police carrying over sound equipment to the next building..sigh..
@RcEdits Yup, I see things quite the same way. I wish I was born earlier, so I could've seen bands like the Beatles, the Doors and Hendrix live. I mean, I still enjoy today's (good) music, but it looks like the percentage of musicians who create music for the love of the art has shrunk over the years.
@joalpersson Yup, I know techno was pretty much made for a certain purpose. But I don't go to clubs that play techno, so I can't imagine thinking that it's "huge". Don't get me wrong, but I still think that -compared to other kinds of music- this is pretty easy to compose. That's why I don't get why Hood should be a "genius". Basically he just had to create one, maybe two bars of a beat and then vary it a bit.
+Massimo Clike Yes, this is by Robert Hood. This version of the song is from the Minimal Nation album: www.discogs.com/Robert-Hood-Minimal-Nation/release/2386
TRY TO DANCE THIS SONG: IMPOSSIBLE!!!! TRY TO HEARING THIS SONG ALL THE DAY: IMPOSSIBLE TOO!!!! TRY TO REMEMBER SOMETHING GREAT BY HEARING THIS SONGS: JUST IMPOSSIBLE!!!! TRY TO CREATE A SONG LIKE THIS: SUPER POSSIBLE: Use a children keyboard and a recorder with loop function,,, LOLOLOL
No offense, but songs like this one are the reason why techno is about the only kind of music I really can't enjoy. The same beat without any variation for almost 4 minutes? If I had to listen to this again my brain would pop!
u must be kidding. All he does is have the same beat going all song. Not to mention the beat sucks. The only way I could listen to this again is if I were rolling balls off, and I still would probably think it sucks. This isnt music, and anyone who thinks otherwise must have their brain fried.
WHY am I NEVER BORED of this track ??! That’s unbelievable, I could listen to it everyday and wait for that moment where the trumpets hit 🤩

Robert Hood shits on almost any other techno producer I could mention. That rigid funk is amazing...
in my opinion this is just pure aesthetic bliss.

It's crazy, I've dicovered this sound 1,5 years ago and I hated it. Since then I've listen only to electronic music and now I like it.
top level
people who complain about it being repetitive keep in mind that DJs are often mixing other tracks into this one.

not "hypnotic" or "clever" or "artistic", just boring.

omg, with my kaossilator I can make instantly better minimals, than this boring loop...
