    Embarking on a new chapter!
Well...it's time. 8 years later it's time to bid farewell to the breathtaking landscapes of Iceland and return to my roots in Australia. I didn't say it in the video and I feel stupid for not doing so, but a huge expression of gratitude to Iceland for the last 8 years of having me and the insane adventures, pleasures and growth I got to experience during this time.
I think in this video you can really see that I'm just ready to go and I for sure didn't express gratitude for my time here. So to any Icelandic people watching, please forgive me for this hiccup. Iceland forever has a soft spot in my heart.
I'll still be in and out from the country! I still have my company here, I'm still a resident at the time of writing this, so it's not the end! I might even be back sooner than expected.
Nevetheless, it's wild to think that I started my RUclips journey in Iceland, and as I close up this year, I'm leaving Iceland and my homes behind. What a way to end the year.
    With much love,
    Sorelle

I'm sad, too, I fell in love with that special space the first time you shared it. It was kinda perfect...but I'm an old lady grandma and I'm here to tell you the universe has surprises in store for you that you don't even know you want yet so enjoy the time and remember the memories and lessons learned there and keep going down your path...it's a pretty cool path! I can't wait to see where you go next. I don't travel...I barely leave the house...so I really enjoy these videos you do and seeing the world through artistic eyes and a deep soul. Good luck and smile, good stuff is coming! ~Tara

Wow! Here’s to new chapters ❤ I make RUclips videos in a similar spirit as you and really relate to the love of completely changing our lives. Within the last two years I went from living in what was a dream house of mine in the country, to packing up my entire like and leaving _everything_ behind to live on the road with my two cats, to living in a Buddhist monastery, and now i just bought and am renovating my first “tiny home.” Here’s to another year of courage and inner sovereignty to live and love life in this empowered way! ❤

I love this! Me and my partner are experiencing the same thing right now. We are British but have lived in Italy for the past four years. Everything has been feeling wrong here, we've tried so hard but nothing feels like it's falling into place, so now we are looking to move somewhere else, maybe Morocco??? With alllll our stuff and our cat, it felt scary at first but the idea of a new chapter is getting exciting now and it feels like now we've let go of trying, things are starting to fall into place again. It's spooky how much of what you said in this video is exactly how I'm feeling right now! Congrats on the move, I look forward to seeing what you get up to over there!

Prior travels to Egypt and India also influenced me deeply as a teen how I perceive the world as an adult now but Australia - beautiful OZ definitely left a lasting imprint on my soul.
Drove 42.000km in 8 months, attended Garma Festival in Arnhemland and stood in the most spectacular natural surroundings ever! What a beautiful continent you’re able to call home.

yeah but hey... not telling friends that you were living? I guess some part of humanity really do care about humans for real. I could never leave a place I've been living for a whole lifetime, without letting them know, telling it in a video on YT... What we miss in this society, is definitely caring for each other, being there for each others. Not 'me me me' and then the rest of the world... I really feel and see that everybody are like "I need to care about myself, I need to prioritize myself". But nowadays everybody are feeling so sadly lonely, and are so depressed and not satisfied. Almost everybody. And yet, everybody are saying "I need to take care about myself". If I look at older generations, I mean the grannies who lived the Second World War, you can still know from the remaining of them, or for what they thought to their children (our parents), that the most important things are people around you. Now, a lot of the parents completely lost that value to go after money, and again we see today the result of that.... But the older generation, the grannies, were very much connected: family, friends, people of the towns/cities, and they were definitely happier that how we are today, even if they had nothing comparing to us today. They were poor most of the times. So don't you all see how this "think about yourself" is making everything worse and not the opposite? Don't you see that what we need is "take care of who you have next to you", because only taking care about someone else, is gonna fill that hole most of the people have inside. And is not just love from parents to kids when they are kids (because when they grow up and they start to have their own thoughts and point of view, here we are again with the parents that thing "oh, screw you, I need to think about myself", and this is going on and on and on like an infinite loop), but is also taking care of people we already have in our life, FRIENDS first of all... Friends are family, friends are important, if we choose rightly who to be friends with, I mean not just people who fill out lives, I mean real friends... I don't know. Keep seeing these format of lives, and keep thinking how far we are to be a better world, better humanity and better people...

You have never been someone who stayed behind though. You have been never someone who traveled often and stayed in different places though. You are exactly where you have always been. Unlike her. She has always packed up and moved. You couldn't do what she does because its not you. It does t make her a bad person but to shame and state you couldn't because you are more human 😂😂😂😂. Recognize abandonment issues. Recognize sabotage to stay the same. You only have one life. Applaud those living theirs.

I also resonate with your feelings/thoughts here. Particularly how you couldn't show up for friends where you were. I have lived overseas for eight years, with many returns back to aus, and recently managed nearly two years back home (although far enough from where I grew up to make it interesting) and that time helped me reorientate myself and in reflection, I relaxed into just being and living. I've watched your previous videos and I imagine your return two years ago was also impactful. I'm back overseas again (as I was following a plan) and after two months of trying, I can't bear to continue. We have it so good in Aus, obviously not perfect, but the idea of finally committing to it is a relief. Particularly with all the recent traumatic wars/conflicts going on, it really makes you appreciate what is important.

I haven't understood that too. I think as she is co sharing the house with her ex which I am guessing, he probably asked for half of it so she can't stay there anymore. Is that enough reason for leaving after ALL the changes and set it up she has done to her new home? Of course not, her brother is still leaving in Iceland too. Also I guess she did have some hope that she will get back together with her ex but she finally realized she must move on cause that won't gonna happen, she gave us some signals saying that the relationship didn't end up so well. I also think she didn't like that much Iceland in the 1st place, she has that kind of thing "of pretending" she likes something to cope with her decisions, like she is too good with lying herself, don't get me wrong, that might it help her in the past with other hard decision but this time, it doesn't make sense at all she is a grownup and if we take into consideration that she always loved warmest weather, as she always mentioned that. Her ex was the one fascinated with Iceland so there is no reason for staying in that country anymore with so many haunted memories. Besides Iceland are mostly 300.000 people. It must be really painful to get across with your ex and somebody else, I am saying this because I know she truly loved him and still didn't get over him.

Sorelle, you are so gorgeous!! And glowing with the joy and excitement of this 'drastic change.' I'm so happy for you!
I missed a little junk of your journey recently so I don't know if you've talked about this, but I'm curious about one thing. How are you able to let go so easily?
I've also been a nomad, went with the flow, frequently moved to place A to place B to place A again, didn't have many posessions with me, and so on. But I have always had a place to go back to if all else fails; I had my parents' apartment. Now, however, I have to let go of that apartment, and I feel like I won't have any roots anywhere. Which is nice, sure, but also very scary. Of course, the story is a bit more nuanced than I make it seem here, but my question is, essentially: how did you let go of this place so easily? I understand that you thought it through and you feel like this is the perfect step for you, but still, it is a home where many great memories were born, where it's comfortable for you, a place that's really yours... How were you able to pack up everything in so little time and move on?
By the way, I'm so happy for your decision to explore Australia, and I'm really looking forward to seeing your experiences on Instagram and RUclips. I'm very curious about the kangaroo-land - I've never been, but I'd love to see it! But I'm terrified of spiders, especially bigger ones. So probably Australia is not the right place for me...
Anyway, I'm happy for you. You're amazing.

until about 2015 my family used to move out relatively regularly, so the sound of an empty apartment brought back nostalgic feelings。it's not toxic to want drastic change as without some people with that trait society woud never advance socially or scientifically, and i feel you are naturally a community person who cares about broader community society in concentric circles over an individualist, but recognised free individuals are the answer to how to bring about free societies and eventually a free world, i find that genophenotype fascinating when i find it in people

  • @zanfaxas968
    @zanfaxas968 8 месяцев назад +10

    i see a pattern here:
    - saying how cool is Iceland and how it feels like home to you not so long ago and now saying how you accidentally moved there
    - being all things finance and excited about money and after a while, abandoning this chapter and saying how you don't want to deal with the money subject anymore
    - talking about eating non processed and vegan for years and then switching to eating meat from the supermarkets
we're all allowed to change our minds on various subject, of course. and although i appreciate a lot of things about you and what you've done, it's kind of hard to understand something from your journey when you do the opposite of the things you spoke about with so much excitement not so long ago. but i hope you'll find what you need in your new chapter

I think it’s ok to be sad and maybe a little angry that you have to leave… it’s better than forcing yourself to be positive or put up a front. Yes, life puts us in some shitty situations sometimes, and we shouldn’t have to always only look at the positives and ignore the negative sides.
Also cut your past self some slack, you wouldn’t want to think “What was I thinking moving to Australia” in a year. It’s ok, you’re growing and learning, and you did what you thought was the right thing for you at the time.
Sending love from another person that has had their life out of sorts recently

Happy New Year Sorelle! I am so proud of you for taking risks and trying new places. Iceland may not have been everything you needed it to be, but what memories you will have of your time there. Now on to new adventures.

I feel this all so deeply right now. My move out day from my most beloved flat is 20 days from now and we are moving from the UK to Portugal. I am full of so many emotions and thank you so much for documenting this journey, it has helped me to remember there are so many people currently making big moves or changes in their life too

What a shame! When I moved to Iceland I watched all the videos you uploaded to know what I would face and I was hoping to run into you - and now you are leaving!
I am sure you will succeed in your new journey, and also enjoy fresh food and warm weather.

Did she give a reason for the move?
Normally you would be critical of someone acting so driven, inauthentic, erratic, unreflective and childish. But as soon as you're successful as an influencer, that's suddenly no longer a problem!?
The reasons she gives that speak against Iceland could have been clear to her years ago. But I bet there are tons of videos of her praising Iceland to the skies.

Sorelle, my family took me to Europe at 19 and we lived there for 12 years. Best years of my life. Now I live in a small
country town in Oz. I felt like you do until now. Best of luck with your new adventures.

I think I speak for many of us when I say I'm quite looking forward to your future videos showcasing your beautiful home country! Also, I wish you much happiness and exciting adventures a head! You were one of the people who inspired me to pursue the digital nomad lifestyle back in 2018, before eventually settling in Portugal. it's been a joy to follow your journey :)
