Glad to see balance being more of a topic for hunters in real hunting conditions. I remember my first XI silver hawk bow with a mounted quiver... good grief was that was a nightmare with the old aluminum arrows for balance.
Some cool new features. Can’t seem to let go my Halon 32-7!
An old friend is better than two new ones.
@Matt Guzman... Stick with what works for you. Didn't get caught up in marketing.
Upgraded from the halon 32 to This and it was a hard for me. Love the halon 32
I haven't upgraded to a new bow in close to 5 years or more. I think this coming new year is going to be time for me to pick up a new one. Love the content y'all release. Keep up the good work fellas!
Just ordered mine in optifade elevated 2 with all the bells and whistles. Handing my triax down to my boy for next season.
This bow is a straight shooter! Love the new Bridge-Lock riser!
I have all of my old Bowtechs (circa '06 - '08)
and my Mathews from the '08 Monster and the
last flagship bows from '18 to the V3......
I can't wait to get my hands on this one.......
Love knowing it receives our existing dove tail sights. That had me concerned, great video !!
The only issue you may have with existing dovetails is the amount of windage adjustment available to get the scope over far enough. HHA updated the hardware that connects the scope to the sight bracket to allow for additional windage adjustment this year. I assume each manufacturer will be different and you'll have to double-check to make sure it's going to work properly.
Nice. Love my Halon 32 though!
Oh man. A 33 inch v3. That’s the only reason I didn’t get a Mathew’s last year.
Still shooting the vxr28 and have to say it come on Mathews all the great improvements you made this year there’s no way these engineers look at that torquey grip and say yea this works! Fix the grip, everyone that shoots Mathews should not have to swap there grips and strings we spend enough money!
Still loving my vertix, but that sight and quiver are really cool
The legs are one of the greatest features as well.
Just bought this bow, its awesome. 98% of the Hoyt Rx7 for 70% of the price
Bridge Lock tech. LOOOOL. Specs seem nearly identical as the last two years. Great review regardless. My wallet just thanked me for watching.
Aloha from Hawaii! Awesome video.
Love all the little things! I wonder if the black eagle dovetail fits the pro. I would have to think it would
It should work with just about any existing dovetail sight. It was designed with that flexibility in mind.
NICE BOW.👍.
Thanks 👍
Nice...but I'll stick with my V3 27
Love it!!!
Id like a more price for price video about it kinda get an idea of what I'd need to spend and what I want and so on. But great video boss thanks
I'm still using a 2019 PSE Stinger Extreme 😔 I love it tho!
2016 Hoyt defiant for me.
Pretty neat, wish they would make it so you don't have to change out mods to adjust draw length.
please talk about cases for the bow, i like compact, thanks
Looks So Good!!!
Some cool upgrades for sure, but man I was hoping for a carbon bow. Feel a carbon won’t have any expansion/contraction in all the different temperatures and makes for more consistency. I only shoot Mathews but don’t plan to buy new till y’all have carbon. Is this being worked on? Also has the back wall been upgraded on this V3X? Feel the back walls have been a touch spongy and Mathews hasn’t made it a true back wall yet. Overall some fun upgrades for sure. Carbon with a true back wall and I’m first in line whenever that comes out.
The back wall on my VXR is pretty stout better than a friends RX5? I believe is the model and my old bear.
@@greggtucker765 i think RX5 is great, and so are PSE Carbon bows.
Matt has addressed the idea of a carbon riser in the past and doesn't seem too keen on the idea.
@@mussersbowsboatsandscience6610 I never said they were bad I just prefer my Mathews
I have a Vertix, but I've always sorta felt like I made the wrong choice as a taller archer and should have got a Traverse. Here's my chance. Take my money Mathews.
Question, since mounting position for sight is moved left a few inches on a right handed bow, how much adjustment do you have on left/right of your sight? Seems like it would be nearly maxed out all the way in one direction depending what hand bow you shoot. Was this an issue?
You’re correct, it’s pretty close. HHA redesigned the mounting brackets to accommodate this new design and allow for enough windage adjustment to make it work. Not sure about other brands.
Justin, what length arrows are you shooting for reference on the quiver. Thanks.
They're 28.5" arrows with Spitfire XXX's on them.
I have the V3 31 with the HHA Tetra Dovetail like you have.. I see it fits but what about the windage adjustment? Can you move the scope over to the right far enough for Center shot with out interference ??
You'll need to get the new Infinite Adjust plate from HHA to make it work with the V3X. www.hhasports.com/infinite-adjust-plate/
I love it!
Can you use the hamskea rest and the new quiver
Not sure - you'd have to test the quiver with every rest on the market to figure out which ones work and which don't.
I sliced my cable literally on my last hunt before they released this 🤦
Do they have a 2 quiver holder. Don’t need 3 or more arrow for whitetail
The smallest LowPro quiver holds 5 arrows. But you don't need to put 5 in it.
I want the 33 but I’m hesitant because I hunt from blinds every now and then.
Next time you're in a blind, take a look at how much space you have when drawn back. The 33 might still be a good option for you.
@timbo I just got the traverse this year, which is 33” ATA. I was very hesitant before purchasing and after 12 days in the woods with it, I can assure you that you wont be able to tell the difference.
Just from personal experience, I don’t see much difference from a small ATA bow and a longer ATA bow in the woods. I hunted all last year with a Prime Black 5 (35” ATA) and a PSE EVO 33 (33” ATA) so far this year out of a blind. I also run a 16” stabilizer, as long as your sitting towards the back of the blind, which you should be doing anyway you’ll be fine. The only position which may be tricky is if your trying to shoot sitting on your butt on the ground, which may be tough with any bow. Just my 2 cents 👍🏻
Does the stay a field system come with the bow?
No, it’s an add on accessory.
Figured lol
Sure does...for an extra $40!!
How would you describe that new color is it tan or gray?
A little of both, kind of like a "sand" color.
Can we just get a 3in brace height
Will this bow still accept side mount bow sights ?
Yes it will. It has standard mounts for any regular sight. However, you won't be able to use the new LowPro quiver with a side-mounted sight.
Just a word of advice. If you have a CBE dove tail they will not work. This is coming from Mathews and at this time there will not be an adapter from CBE. So if you’re like me and shoot one of these we are SOL.
Will the new quiver system work on last years v3?
I don't believe it will. The quivers are bow-specific since the mounts are at different locations based on riser length. Also, the LowPro quivers only work if you have the sight mounted through the riser. They aren't compatible with a traditional side-mounted sight.
Can you use a sight that is not a dovetail on this bow?
Yes. It also has standard holes for mounting a sight on the side of the riser.
Does the v3x take the same cam modules as the v3?
yup
How many times can you reinvent the wheel I'm not impressed 10 yrs into the future what's there going to be a 3 arrow setup 🤔
He didn’t mention about draw length specs
It's in the bio for the video, the 29 can be from 25.5" - 30" and the 33 is 27" - 31.5"
Yes it's nice like always but the price of bow go high I don't think so most people can be happy about it
Good to see Mathews following hoyts lead and mounting the sight out front. No new cams, same grips, and it’s heavier. Rx5 for the win!
The big difference is that most sight companies are already making a dovetail model that's compatible with this bow, rather than having to make a Hoyt-specific model. That really limits your options and hamstrings sight companies. Same basic idea, just a different implementation.
Same one tech with a new quirk here and there. Just like golf clubs. Buy a new one every 5 or 6 years and you are gtg. Technology isn't changing often enough.
Still can’t beat my Halon X …. 35” axle to axle. ‘21 Buck tags filled in Kansas, Ohio, and West Virginia. Don’t know if I’ll ever sell it. Flagship
Mathews leading the way
Coming 2023 the Mathews V3XR
Bow shops are gonna be mad lol
Sas is pretty cool...sight mount is extremely stupid and will be gone in 3 years max. Hiw is it saving much when you'll have to gang adjust your sight out to the side more to account for the mount being centered...stupid
Biggest let down ever. Mathews has fallen off and is totally a marketing company but you fan boys will keep buying into it lmao. All they did was add a X to the name lmfao how sad
Bridge lock is horse shit, the only advantage is mounting the quiver closer to the riser. you would never tell the difference with the sight mounted on the side.. thats all the bows with this system, its a sales pitch not buying in on them high price stuff. that being said i love the bow. JMO
What a complete bust of a launch
why is it a bust?
@@mrgboxx kinda hoping for a new bow but instead got accessorie options. Been the same boring shit for years. Just put cool edited videos out and people will buy
I think a lot of people are going to feel this way at first. It's easy to look at the bow and think it's the same as last year. But I can tell you that when you get all of the new accessories mounted up and feel the way the bow carries, holds, and shoots, there is a noticeable difference. I get that people are always hoping for some sort of new never-seen-before amazing technology, but the reality is that doesn't happen very often. This is the next step forward taking a proven platform and pushing to make it better.
@@mrgboxx It's a Mathews
@@joshpitts7256 lol sounds like you want one
Very sad stone is hone
I’m selling mine fully loaded 70lb 29in draw if anyone is interested
Watched 2 seconds of the video but let me guess... Its the most silent, dead in the hand bow matthews bow they ever made lmao
