Oh hi vivzie-
Didnt expect to see you here
Cameo? You could put a second long cameo. WOULD YOU LIKE TO PUT A CAMEO?!
Vivziepop it’s amazing!

Good point.
That explains it
Also an F in Math, whatever that tells you

I think she ran away to be honest
Missi sings in so many different voices, but somehow, every single one of them fit her perfectly

Yes lip sync is magic
The fact that she could’ve had a chance at a normal life but chose otherwise just lets us understand her and her story so much more.
the staff has possessed her, so she didn't have a choice in anything. even after losing contact with it briefly, she was still in its power enough that whatever is possessing her went back to the staff to reunite it with its current host (Missi)
@@TeenDream888 Actually, she did it out of anger if you didn't notice her facial expression upon noticing Duke
I would also like to be a vampire, walk around the castle with a magic staff and in a beautiful lush dress, instead of studying, Missy is quite understandable🧐
someone probably already said this but the reason the cane is driving her so crazy is because she's not actually meant to be a vampire... duke was fine with it because he IS actually a vampire
So what is the cane then if not a magic vamp creator
Slowpoke the cane is probably only part of it. Duke is still a vamp without the cane, the cane just seems to give him more power. It could also be her not fully accepting the vampirism and that's why she is able to transform back to a human.
What if it turns people into vampires because duke was the first one with it so he turns people into him a vampire
Ok, so here’s how it works to me.
If you are a vampire, you can use it with no problems.
If you are a human, you will just strait up turn into a vampire until you let go of it, and you may experience insanity while holding it for too long.
You're welcome I just gave you your 666th like.
bro i never noticed how legit insane missy is. everyone be saying she's insane but i don't think anyone's mentioned the fact that she is seeing things the whole time, i mean like nobody's mentioned how when she thought the chandelier fell when it didn't and she saw a picture of duke when it wasn't duke. i only noticed this now lmao
The staff/cane i guess?
???????
No one is talking about 0:36 either... Or how much the lyrics fit.
And her shadow doesn’t show her dress
And the fact that your pfp looks
In fact, a lot of peoples did mention it, but they're from earlier comments, when the video dropped out.
Coming back and rewatching this what with the new release, and I think I have a slightly different take than most on what her situation is here. She's clearly suffering through most of this song, with hallucinations and encroaching madness, and a lot of people are saying it's because she wasn't a vampire, but what if it was simpler than that? What if she tells us right during the song what the problem was?
"I went to sleep and woke to find that I was being eaten, which wouldn't be so bad except I never gave permission"
When she grabs the cane during The Night, its power overwhelms her and she gets turned into this dark being. But she didn't make a choice there, it happened without her realizing it. Which is why she's so horrified when she drops it and comes to her senses here. But at the end, she picks it back up, this time knowing full well what she'll become. She chooses it this time, she gives 'permission'.
I imagine this is why we don't see any of this instability in the later chapters. Once she chose that path there wasn't that disconnect anymore between her human mind and the power that was filling her. She was in tune in a way she wasn't initially.
This needs more attention, it makes so much sense. Plus it puts a positive, albeit twisted, but still positive, perspective on missi’s story.
Oh that sounds good
This is a really interesting take and it sheds new light to this episode. Also Daria likes to use the lines on the songs as a narrative device so it would make a lot of sense
You know, that actually makes a lot of sense.
may i ask do you know the name of the real show as i dont know as this says fan animation on them im assuming there a real show behind it ?
The fact she gave up her chance to be normal again probably says a lot about how "good" her home life was and how much control the staff has over her emotions
Do you smell that... I smell an underrated artist...

Daria so talented!!
Now that I've rewatched this a good hundred times, I've come to realize that Missi's reflection is shown at 1:51, further showing how she isn't a true vampire and that the cane's effecting her because of that. She has hallucinations at many intervals like when she thinks the chandelier falls, and seems to have some sort of protective behaviors over the cane, bringing it to bed with her.
Oh! Its brown!!
And she sees the picture of the duke but it’s in realtiy a picture of someone else
Purple Power it her when she’s not holding the staff like when we see her shadow to it’s her without the staff
I THOUGHT there was something off about the colors of that!
Not all mirrors have silver anymore, but since it's antique, I'll let your point stand.

Cool analysis
Ok so I just noticed something, in "fuck you" Missi's shadow version was a separate entity that she sent after Duke (most likely the entity came from the cane and returned to it), but here we can see it is trying to take over her or at least become a permanent part of Missi, trying to no longer be a separate entity. And as seen here that entity is now a part of Missi as she couldn't overcome her hatred for Duke and it the entity festered on this notion and so Missi embraced it (as seen in the end). Edit this might be common knowledge but my delayed ass only saw this now lol.
It's tragic, really. She gave up any chance at returning to her normal life out of a desire to punish Duke. Vengeance prevents her from really being happy.
Christopher Walters I mean she seems pretty happy while she’s tormenting Duke, but I get yer point
@@swordsmanthegamernine7973 I don't know that she is. Vindictive pleasure isn't a lasting joy. Tormenting Duke doesn't make her "happy", any more than a line of cocaine would.
Christopher Walters that’s actually a very interesting parallel you’ve just drawn, the ‘cocaine’ in this scenario actually takes two forms. The scepter, which undeniably gives her power and makes her feel it like never before, and also her vengeance against Duke, both of these things make her feel incredible while also destroying her inside
It's not like she has any choice, she drops the scepter and it's back to Ep.1 but without the element of surprise.
"and with boiling blood she scouted the umbral planes, seeking vengeance against the dark lord who had wronged her. And those who tasted the bite of her staff named her.... THE DUKE SLAYER." *heavy metal music starts playing in the distance*
Missi is going nuts but her hate for Duke just keeps pulling her back in... That's honestly a scary thought...
I noticed that as well it what keep her in control of herself
Revenge destroys the person seeking it as often as it destroys the target.
I cant wait to see what he has planned
From 2:16 it looks like the cane is whats driving her nuts, but her hared for the Duke makes her keep using it.
Storm Trooper that's what she gets for breaking and entering into someone's house
The more i rewatch the series the more i feel this episode is where missy began to sympathize with duke, or at least understand him a bit. The power and corruption of that staff combined with the isolation in the castle.
自分にひたすら「私は悪くない!!」と呪いのように唱える感じがめちゃくちゃ好き
It’s interesting how the mirror proves she’s not a true vampire by showing her brown hair (true self) in the reflection

“Why sure, thanks for asking for permission”
“It’s always good to get consent”
Well well well
As much as I agree that Duke has a lot of fault here, I think this episode made me realize that Missi is really messed up to begin with as well. The power of the cane scared her, but she STILL preferred to endure horrifying hallucinations, throw out her entire future (hence her college application that flew out of her bag) and continue to let her family (the people that actually matter in her life-listed in a paper of emergency contacts that also flew out
of her bag) worry to death about her...just to continue tormenting Duke. The cane isn’t controlling her, it just brings out what’s already there. Up to this point, she killed him, she brought him back to life, she tortured and beat his ass, humiliated him and violently threw him out of his own house.
I think the scariest thing here isn’t the power of the cane, it’s her own capacity to hate so deeply. I think that’s the “Silent” monster inside her that’s literally “eating her inside out” and that’s how she chose to live her life.
Missi*
I'm not sure how far she would have gotten from the house before he saw her and came after her, he was standing just a short ways off from the window when she opened the door. She could have left before she resurrected him, but now she's trapped with the staff.
This entire comment may be see this video in a completely different perspective
Her mind is also being f^cked buy the magic of the cane since she also inst a vampire without its magic. But everything else is her free will! But I really like this!
To be honest, I love how smooth the animation is and how the music connects to the character, but if I'm being honest, I think she must have really hidden her dark side from the outside world, a woman like that would scare me :^
If u pause at the right time when she throws her book bag, u’ll see:
* Her real name Is Melissa Dumarias
* Her birthday is July 7
* Her emergency contacts are her Mom, Dad and Nessa(her sister)

I’m also pretty sure, that it’s Missi herself who’s missing. And her sister is looking for her. Since- you know she never left the castle after almost getting raped and stuff. And I think that’s the reason she hates Duke as well.
3:15
If you pause it at the right time, you can see the name "Nessa" on the page labeled "emergency contacts"
In "zombie prostitute" the girl in the green dress's necklace reads
"Vanessa" and the name Nessa is short for Vanessa. Coincidence? I THINK NOT

*Lyrics for the song:*
Oh god
It's so so quiet here
The silence is slipping into my head
When monsters are loud
They're really quite delightful
It's the silent ones that kill you
So please do watch out
We had a monster ball
And they all came out to play
They were dressed to the nines
In their scary monster ways
We had guzzard tea
And lizard skin
And baby legs and rolled around
Merrily and spilled our fluids
God it was so fun!
At the end of the night
We bowed and said: Good eating!
And they spilled into the night
Slithering and creeping
I closed my door and hit the lights
And sighed into the frightful night
The chandeliers were creaking
Ah oooh! My little tom's were peeking!
Oh God, what's that?
Could it be my little black cat?
Could it be my shadow playing tricks?
Could it be my flighty candlesticks?
It's time my body go to bed
But who to tend to my dear head?
The night will soothe it's deadly ways
Into the realm of the insane
I lift my covers up
And I close my little eyes
And I listen to the night
With its silent screams and cries
I went to sleep and woke to find
I was being eaten
Which wouldn't be so bad
Except
I never gave permission
Those silent little demons
And their silent little ways
Its the silent ones that kill you
Its the little ones that rage
The big ones will hound you
The loud ones will pound you
But the germs get in you
And eat you inside out
Inside out
Inside out
They'll eat you inside out
Which wouldn't be so bad
Except they eat you Inside out
Inside out
Inside out
They'll eat you inside out
Which wouldn't be so bad
Except they eat you Inside out
Which wouldn't be so bad
Except they don't ask for permission
They just get inside you
And set upon their mission
Or better than that
They'll get into your veins
And seep into your bloodstream
Which causes lots of pain
Or better than that
They'll make you go insane
If the little bugger slimes
Reach into your brain
Or better than that
In your soul they'll lurk
A place to worship
You've become their church
Allellujia
Inside out
Inside out
They'll eat you inside out
Which wouldn't be so bad
Except they eat you inside out
No it wouldn't be so bad

Which wouldn't be so bad
But then they leave you inside out

So now we know her full name is Melissa Dumarias, her birthday is 7/7 and she was applying for college for literature, had a drawing of a cat with hards so liked them from before, was carrying "The history of arts" textbook, she had a friend/big sister? called Nessa and was bad at every subject expect Literature, her library cart expired in 6/6/2016, both parents are alive(I had a theory they were dead and that's why she decided to stay in the castle) I hope I got everything right. @@matthewsidewater6641 pause at 3:15 ish
It's fun seeing the context Threnody adds to this, since the cane is a vessel of Anger, which really informs her whole induced madness ^-^
Honestly this is probably my favorite episode. It shows how the staff is affecting Missi, in multiple ways. It controls every aspect of her day, such as the hallucinations. It also shows that she is paranoid about the staff being stolen as you can see her go to sleep with it behind her back. I loved the detail at 1:12 where she see's a painting that has Duke on it, and immediately goes to hit it, until a few seconds later it is shown that it is just a normal painting and Missi is starting to hallucinate about Duke. When the curse of the staff finally broke, she gathered her things and decided to finally leave the place. That is until she see's Duke, and throws her bag which included college applications, schoolwork, and emergency contacts which shows that she had a whole life and family but left it due to her hatred of Duke. This is truly my favorite episode (and it uses one of my favorite songs which is a plus)
One detail I'd like to point out is that on Missi's driver's license, it shows that her full (first) name is Melissa and that she was born in 2016. She has college applications, which means that she is most likely around 18-20 and that this takes place in the future, possibly around 2030.
Maybe this was why Duke was so happy in the land of the dead. He was finally free of the cane. When he was brought back you can see how surprised he was with Missi, and even though he's pissed off he isn't acting like he did in the Night he's more mellow. The cane makes its holder become insane and intensifies their emotions- for Duke it was lust and for Missi its anger.
I don't know how many of these Daria has planned out, but it would be cool if by the end there were seven vampires, each with their own sin like you mentioned. Idk, just thinking loud lol. Or maybe you need the seven vampires/sins to destroy the cane?
apologyapocalypse I don’t think so.The cane was in the land of the dead.I think the Land of the dead was before Missi even showed up,it was supposed to show how life was for Duke before it all. This is all just my theory tho.
@@readingandyapping That specific cane wasn't in the land of the dead. He had a different cane.
@@readingandyapping except he was in the land of the dead beacuse missi killed him in the first episode and then in the 3rd episode she brought him back to life just to spite him more or less because she's evil now
apologyapocalypse I don't think the cane itself is driving Missi crazy, I think that what you said about the cane amplifying the users emotions is true, it could be that Missi is going crazy with unchecked rage and needs a proper outlet to control herself better. Because I like Missi, she's my favourite character and I believe that if she could find someone/something as a proper outlet for her emotions then it would lead to a pretty good story
Oh dear. . .on the one hand, it's a bit sad to see poor traumatized Missi, slowly being driven mad, try to throw away the cane and reclaim her normal life. On some level, she just wants to go home, poor kid. But on the other, she's still FURIOUS with Duke, and -- well, I don't know if walking out of that house as a human would have gone well for her.

I never noticed the small details like the shandow and reflection that hinted at human missi before.
"It wouldn't be so bad, except I never gave permission." I think that's the most telling phrase in this animation, at least in terms of what's going inside her head, particularly in terms of how she feels about the Duke.
The point being, he thought she did, that's why he waited to do anything sexual until after she did the fake in the first part
+Anthony Emerick Well he did harass her, tie her up and lock her up before that. The dancing in "the Night" might even have been metaphorical of something... less fitted for RUclips.
@@shakinbacon6398 Except in what world did she really think he wasn't going to do anything to her anyway. He literally tied her up like a puppet, he closed the doors on her when she tried to run away, he chased her, physically grabbed her, pulled her towards him when it was *clear* she wasn't into it.... Like in case you didn't know, someone running away from you trembling and shaking is a pretty solid sign they're just not that into you bro. She did what she thought she had to to survive and the fact that he believed the sudden switch in her mood is kind of...stupid of him.
@@perfectstorm333 Again, though duke is at his very core atleast with the staff a monster of the night unable to control his actions and shifted towards the paradigm of evil. Any ability to restrain himself shows a great amount of strength especially given what we see missi go through in this song. Furthermore unless it is revealed that the duke tricked her into coming into his home, his villainy is nothing but a reaction to something she actively did.
I always saw that bit as a creature playing with its food until the seduction where his motives changed.

She tried to RUN AWAY in Ep1 But now She Is A VAMPIRE PRO. She is SCARING EVEN ME💀💀
I love the details that Daria put into this. When she hits her backpack with the magic staff and it hits the wall, as you slow down the frames you can see that her real name is Melissa Dumasias(i think the last name was kind of hard to make out) and she is not very bright in the subjects of Math and Georgraphy judging from the poor grades she got on her papers that flew out. But she is very bright in the subject in Literature, she even had a college application form slip out and it even says that she wants to major in that subject. And dang just to tease us she even had a paper with her emergency contacts on it. Not to sound obvious but this looks like a metaphor for her throwing her old life away and moving toward something more adventurous and daring. I dont know about any of you but I'm SO looking forward to the next episode.
It also seems she has (a sister? Cousin? Friend) someone along her emergency contacts named Nessa, which is neat!

Agreed. Missi can be terrifying and adorable. Sometimes at the same time, sometimes not.
Has anyone else noticed that when she throws the cane everything goes into color but when she grabs it again everything goes black and white again. It really projects the mental state that missi's in when possessed by the cane and it becomes overwhelming. Just a nice little touch I wanted to bring to your attention if you didn't already know
it's really rad!! in the sense of it being a cool detail. there's also support of the black-and-white possession detail during 0:54 to 1:02 when missi almost gets killed with a chandelier- or, seems like she's hallucinating it (it's still intact when they cut to the ceiling). daria's care with the nuances are cool :>
@@klep6719 Yeah that was one of the first things I noticed! The attention to detail is amazing!
Stuff is really cursed, so normies don't get to use it.
I just noticed something she never talks when shes not holding the staff but when she does she talks
If I may add to this, I might be reading too much into it, but when was Missi was walking in the half after she threw away the cane, her figure was black while the background is in color. My take on this is this is Missi's POV of herself as a human. She's just empty while everything around her is on color. So another reason she went back for the cane could be that she wants to be somebody, somebody powerful, somebody who will stand out.
What shocks me is that in the previous video Duke looks at Missi through the window and some seconds later we see him just like we do in this video.. which means that Missi was enjoying her drink next to the fireplace and some seconds later all this madness happened.. woah
Actually the fire place scene was before the madness in this episode cause at the end we see that the showdown poster wrote the word "Brb for " above the phrase "the showdown", most likely written by duke
@Matsuzaka Satou I agree with you, and what if all of the stuff that was in black and white was in her mind or maybe even the staff playing tricks on her. If you slowed the frames down in the black and white crazy part, then you would see the staff smirking at her pain.
@@rodimusunicronus2089 Yeah the madness thingy should be somewhere in the middle.. but still how long did it last? 20 secs? XD

(An awesome man know to be a writer, poet, editor, and literary critic, and is especially famous for many dark and mysterious poems and books alike)
did anyone notice that when she's walking through the hallway in the mirror you can see her reflection is human! The detail is amazing.
I love how the longer she's holding the cane, the more it possess her and pulls her closer to insanity. But even when she comes to her senses, her grudge against Duke adds ontop of it and makes her return to the cane to make him pay.
When she threw the cane, the purple was fading away from her hair. Also when she was getting ready to leave, it was playing Alleluia in the backround, as if she was praying. Even in the beginning, her shadow showed her human form, the title was faded brown too. The detail was beautiful, Daria!
Mika The Otaku why does she hate him so much? She broke into HIS house. What did he do that was so bad?
@@turntechgodhead7557
Might not be a particular enmity. Might just be that she saw a bloodthirsty predator with reason to hold a grudge against her, who may have been waiting for her, through the window while she was on her way out and got angry. When I describe The Duke as bloodthirsty, I'm not saying he's particularly violent, I'm referencing the fact that he's a vampire. Though the other meaning of bloodthirsty might also apply given that he apparently conquered the Underworld.
Speaking of the fading purple from her hair; I really enjoyed how her reflection, unlike what one would expect from a vampire, as actually shown, but it showed her human form. You can see it by the color of her hair. That's a pretty neat and subtle hint at her state of "conditional vampirism", if I might express it that way.
@GUILLE832
It was interesting since vampires aren't supposed to have reflections, but since it's the staff that makes Missi a vampire, I guess it doesn't make her a "full" vampire?
It's not just her hatred, she's also scared that the duke will attack her the moment she steps out of the door in her human form. Cause without the scepter she's weak and can't resist against the duke
Oooooooooooo~kay.........Missi is sorta losing it but the rage at Duke keeps pulling her back in....this is so good!
He doesn't even do anything, she pulls herself in by sheer pettiness and spite.
@@RVGmetallicasaw he DID try to rape her AND if she just went out there he would probably notice her and now when shes human againe... with his pent up anger...😤😥 that wouldnt be pretty....
@@gran9773 I believe Daria has already explained that Duke wasn't thinking about that until she seduced him to trick him. Technically, it wasn't an attempt of rape as he foolishly thought she was willing when she was only tricking him. She is upset about him chasing her around the mansion. For all she knows, he was just toying with her before he was going to drink her blood.
I wonder if she could have snuck out the back or a side entrance.

@Fairfax She entered what she thought was an unlocked abandoned house. And while he may not have tried to actually rape her, he did chase her around the house the whole night without letting her leave, and forcibly puppeteered her body, forced a dance with her, and change her clothes (all this is invasive). the details of showing the chandelier falling but it's still on the ceiling as well as how she saw the duke in the painting but it turns out it's just some rando is perfect
The trick is that there isn't "some rando". It is a portrait of Edgar Allan Poe, and the song/video is quite consistent with his stories.
i'm watching this for the 1000th time and something that i noticed it's the form of the silhouette when missi was in bed in 1:21.
It's even more interesting that she seems afraid, or being scared that he would do something to her when she least expects it.
First off I fucking love this video, the idea of Missi being the only colorful thing in the castle, besides her cat, says a lot if the song, colors and monsters represent her sanity crumbling away to her inner demons/powers, not to mention the PTSD caused by Duke every time “the night” is mentioned.
This got me thinking, does the bat staff/cane have side effects for its wielder? If so, does it bring bigger repercussions for humans because it really seems like that on Missi. The end result of this video means she is slowly going crazy. Plus, She’s starting to remind me of Duke with all those crazy expressions( amazing job by the way). It is, however, interesting to note that she hates Duke so much that she’s willing to go back to that same maddening existence. That’s...a terrifying sort of dedicated rage that I can respect.

he almost raped her, so i undertand her rage ... sorta ...
Watch the chandelier scene again and youll see the monsters arent real.

What we can tell from the content of her bag:
1. Her emergency contacts are Mom, Dad, and Nessa (who we can assume is her gf or sister)
2. Her grades in Math and Geography are Fs and an A in Literature.
3. She was born on 7/7 or July seventh
4. She had a filled out collage application for a Literature program, meaning she is around the age of 18.
5. Her full name is Melissa Dumarias (spelling maybe a bit off)
6. She has a book called History of the Arts. (I assume one of the journals in her backpack is full of drawings)
7. She doodles on her papers (another reason to support the fact she may have a drawling journal)
8. She has a library card that expired on 6/6/16. (A possible avid reader.)

I think it's funny when she takes a swing at Duke's picture and then... either changed her mind at the last second and hit a picture of Edgar Allan Poe instead, or the painting magically changed into something else. I also think it's interesting that she still has a reflection(?) even in vampire form.
But she has family, OMG, I wonder what they're doing while all this vampire disaster is happening :(
I feel like there aren't any monster/creatures in that mansion at all. They are just figments of her deteriorating mind. Her sanity is slowly deteriorating from her constant want for revenge. That moment where she turns human again? I believe that was her being able to grasp on to what was left of her sanity but the moment she saw him, That grasp was gone and she was back to having lost her mind.
Nerdy Evy Ding ding ding you are correct my good friend
And when she went back to being insane after being human the power was more powerful making it practically impossible to escape the craziness. When she hit the bag onto the wall i think that represented that she doesnt care about her human life and only revenge for the vampire guy
@@mikicreates37 even though her revenge is dumb since she was the one who trespassing into his home and he began to mess with her but not sexual assault or anything. he only started being flirty when she began to flirt him to death. I guess insanity doesn't need a good reason for insanity.

Oh god
It's so so quiet here
The silence is slipping into my head
When monsters are loud
They're really quite delightful
It's the silent ones that get you
So please do watch out
We had a monster ball
And they all came out to play
They were dressed to the nines
In their scary monster ways
We had guzzard tea
And lizard skin
And baby legs and rolled around
Merrily and spilled our fluids
God it was so fun!
At the end of the night
We bowed and said: Good eating!
And they spilled into the night
Slithering and creeping
I closed my door and hit the lights
And sighed into the frightful night
The chandeliers were creaking
Ah oooh! My little tom's were peeking!
Oh God, what's that?
Could it be my little black cat?
Could it be my shadow playing tricks?
Could it be my flighty candlesticks?
It's time my body go to bed
But who to tend to my dear head?
The night will soothe it's deadly games
Into the realm of the insane
I lift my covers up
And I close my little eyes
And I listen to the night
With its silent screams and cries
I went to sleep and woke to find
I was being eaten
Which wouldn't be so bad
Except
I never gave permission
Those silent little demons
And their silent little ways
Its the silent ones that kill you
Its the little ones that rage
The big ones will hound you
The loud ones will pound you
But the germs get in you
And eat you inside out
Inside out
Inside out
They'll eat you inside out
Which wouldn't be so bad
Except they eat you Inside out
Inside out
Inside out
They'll eat you inside out
Which wouldn't be so bad
Except they eat you Inside out
Which wouldn't be so bad
Except they don't ask for permission
They just get inside you
And set upon their mission
Or better than that
They'll get into your veins
And seep into your bloodstream
Which causes lots of pain
Or better than that
They'll make you go insane
If the little bugger slimes
Reach into your brain
Or better than that
In your soul they'll lurk
A place to worship
You've become their church

Which wouldn't be so bad
But then they leave you inside out

i just rewatched this, and paused when she used the cane to hit her backpack like a baseball, and if you pause at the right time, you can see a page of emergency contacts, a couple tests with A+ on them, a note with a heart at the end, a drivers license (i think), and a college application. This wasn't some little girl who was in middle school or barely in high school, she was a young adult who seemed to have a very promising future and all that was taken from her when she touched the cane. Seeing as I'm her age and applying for colleges, this makes me incredibly sad for Missi
the cat's shadow foreshadows what happens to Missi in the future at 1:08 and just overall, missing his eye, soooooooooooooo, constant foreshadow?
I don't know if anyone noticed, but looking at the title "The Silent" at the bottom of the purple letters there's a tinge of brown. It also happens when Missi walked by the mirror at 1:51. Her reflection was brown instead of purple. In a way I think it's symbolic of human Missi trying to get out and finding her sanity and humanity again. Same thing happens at 0:22 When Missi walks by the window and her shadow is casting her human self. Also at 2:22 notice how the tips of her hair is still purple and faded to brown. Once again, symbolic of her returning to her human self and returning to her sanity. Maybe I'm looking too deep into it but if that was Daria's intent even she animated this, it's very nice attention to detail! 👌

I just love this song. It's one of my favorites because of this video!!
Going back and rewatching these videos.
You can probably see a bit of relating to what the Duke likely went through.
The silence being alone by being you know the corruption of eating inside out.
And the hatred winning in the end.
With a throwing the staff or Cane.
Basically symbolizing that she doesn't want to endure it anymore
But it is simply seeing him and getting that flood of hatred back was enough to accept it.

At around 2:18, the scepter is much more. Exaggerated, the points and wings look a lot bigger, and then same thing happens to the staff at the end right before the knocking- Like, the shaft of it is a lot thicker and everything before she goes back to normal, and so does the staff-
I wonder why?
My theory:
Missi came into the "abandoned" castle to read her book. Duke noticed her and decided to have some fun (as in the dancing, nothing sexual.) Missi was very suprised and very anxious if he was gonna do anything to her, since he was chasing her through the entire castle. When she was dancing with him for the last time in "The Night", Missi noticed that it was morning, and she could see the sun through the castle. And, as you all know, she walked over to a windowsill/shelf (idk). Duke was like "YOLO!" and you know... went over to her and stuff. Missi was obviously anxious during that time, and finally pulled the rope for the curtains, and used *Duke's staff* to slam him into the open. During that, the staff gave her a feeling of power and excitement. That's why she smiles so... unsettling and evil. The staff manipulates her every move, makes her think things, makes her hallucinate. (In Silent.) It tells her "destroy him. make his life horrible." And she still remembers those feelings, which is why she wants to get more revenge on Duke, even though she did enough in "F*ck you" (bringing Duke back from his happy times in The Land of the Dead, and kicked him out.)
So... with all of these evidence, I think I can conclude...
*The Staff is the Villian.*
EDIT: Thanks to the replies, I've been able to edit this in the way the fandom thinks it should be! Thank you everyone, for being so responsive to this comment! :)

I think all this is a trick of the cane, he just want missi to get out and duke enters in the castle harmless
Theory:
The monsters aren't real. If you look at the part where the chandelier falls, when she looks back, it never fell. These monsters are just things from her insanity because it's so quiet. When she tries to turn away from the staff, she was quick to turn back to it because of Duke and other few reasons. She has a huge grudge against him, so i doubt she just summoned him for nothing. Her bag also has her grades, which are failing except literature, which makes a reason to not go back. She also has contacts to her parents, but i don't think she would want to trouble them. What im saying is she has no reason to go back and takes the staff even if it meant losing her sanity. Idk lmao
I like your theory
She has a reason to trouble them,
She must have been missing for months! Also all those things she has in her bag aren't those someone would take if they were running away
And she has a library card with her along with contact info and a college application maybe she is lost and went to the castle for shelter
from the "Except
I never gave permission" sounds like a confession of things on how the character/writer is dealing with, something that is so bad she feels she couldn't tell or go back with her parents, sounds like it's forming into a poetic way so us viewers would connect more than to understand the character , I mean esp 1 is where she almost got raped by duke.... would that feeling to not confront her parents because it would hurt them that their own daughter went through that?
It's possible that the reason she summoned Duke is because she wants to mess with him- to essentially turn him into her personal punching back where she could relieve her frustrations and resentment of her situation to since she doesn't want to hurt any innocents and maybe... Just maybe, forget what she's lost. The fact that the silence is starting to gnaw at her sanity should be evident of this as no one starts going mad from being alone in mere days and the fact that he's the reason she is a vampire now is a welcomed bonus on her book.
That staff is like the One Ring, grants great power at the cost of your sanity, humanity until it eventually turns you into something permanently cursed by its power. But it’s just so tempting and and it feels so good to use it.

근데 더 예뻐졌다..
하지만 결국 둘이 결혼함
I think this represents how Missi was struggling with the fact that she never had any choice or control when it came to what she had become. It first started with Duke chasing and harassing her, making her feel weak and not in control of her situation. After defeating Duke, she was then immediately controlled by darkness once she had possession of the cane, not really having a choice in accepting it or not.
As for the monsters in this chapter (who constantly try to stalk, bind and attack her) represent how, though she had great power, she was conflicted about the darkness being forced upon her without her consent or choice to begin with, not truly knowing if shes the one in control. This causes her to loose her sanity and break free from the darkness.
As for when she begins to walk out and sees Duke, she's reminded of how weak she was and makes the decision, of her own free will, to accept the cane and the powers that come with it, allowing her to stay strong, and never as powerless as she felt before.
BTW 3:13 Vampire Missi with glasses and ponytail is hot
i think another layer is her addiction to it too. she is being controlled by the power but it took her until this moment to throw it away.. but the addiction and anger won in the end.
there is more than likely a malign presence inside of the cane.
@@taddad2641 im not so sure id call her going back to the cane an addiction. If it was, im sure Duke would have been having it much worse than he already is if it was. But he just seems to be pissed that he lost(episode 3.5). As for Missi, it seems more like she hated that the cane had forced it's influence on her without her giving her consent. This made her afraid of it and allowed her the opportunity to reject it. But when you see her walk back to get the cane, you can see that her eyes were filled with determination and that she made her choice of her own free will to accept the cane. (She doesnt even stop or hesitate when she picks it up)
