One of my heroes, Scott Joplin.
Me too!
Good old days ragtime piano songs 😊
What's the best thing to have after cake?....well more cake of course, this slice is Joplin flavoured as requested!
I just think of strawberry treats listening to this song
😂
I remember myself being so sad that it was so hard for me to play this piece until a few years latter I learned, and I can play the whole song. So everyone never give up on your dreams.
I can’t get over how clean and nice your visuals are. Great playing too!
Thanks GvPiano, the visuals are an evolving entity on their own, glad you like the video. We are very pleased with the arrangement too!
@@masterkeyz959 Where’d you find the music? Where did you get the sheet music I’m saying?
What a lovely gentle rag this is! Beautifully played - thank you!
Thanks so much, I’m glad you enjoyed it!
It must be very fun to play isn't it ? :-)
This made me smile, keep doing that great work !
MrTardoss Thanks, Mr Tardoss, yes it was good fun, this one. It’s always a joy to play Scott Joplin rags.... they are always (mostly) so cheerful...the ultimate way to brighten up the day!😁
Wonderful music !!! The finest and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or touched. You have to feel it with your heart.
😍👍
Scott Joplin is my absolute favorite, and you play his music so perfectly!
Spice Lord Thanks so much Spice Lord, that’s really appreciated! I’m glad you are enjoying these Ragtime performances😊👍
So cool - love this great rag and your fantastic performance of it!💕💕💕🎹
One of the best covers on youtube! Amazing work man
yes !! the second chord on left hand is well stressed so gives the perfect rhithm
Your timing is impeccable!
Thanks so much! I’m glad you enjoyed my playing!
I’m learning this piece currently
i don't know how i got here but I i really enjoyed this! I i have a whole scott joplin sheet music book all scanned digitially
I believe Scott wrote this with Joseph Lamb
No, this was about a decade before they met. It was co composed with Arthur Marshall in 1900. Most of which was actually composed by Marshall, which explains why it’s more rag then standard cakewalk.
Really nice!
bluvs l piano Cheers, bluvs I piano😁
Fantastic! I just picked up the sheet music last month. The transition at :39--what finger pattern do you use? I always stumble at this part.
I fuckin love this song, I'm in the middle of learning it
I'm also learning it, till now I have only learnt the starting.
Cool.......... Love it 🤙
Keep up the good work 👌
Michael Thanks, Michael!😊👍👍
the credit should go to Arthur Marshall, Joplin's student at the time and who composed the A B and D sections. Joplin added the C section, and took Marshall with him to meet John Stark to have the work published.
A master at work!
I absolutely love this!!!🎹🎵💕
In every Scott Joplin Rag or Waltz, if you listen close enough, you can sing the name of the song with some of the notes. I've found that it is easiest with Magnetic Rag, Swipsey Cakewalk, The Entertainer, Maple Leaf Rag, Fig Leaf Rag, Original Rags, etc.
I hear that too.
Don’t forget that Arthur Marshall wrote the majority of the piece. Joplin only wrote the trio.
Happy music
Right time, right rythm. What else do you wont?
Beautiful
Thank you for playing this at the proper tempo. That is hard to find, especially with Joplin's early pieces.
Dear Master Keyz, the last note in measure 60 you play "g", it sounds well, but my sheet music says "f", which sounds 'more Joplin' to my ears. I'm curious what it has to be.
I would like to mention that most of this piece was actually composed by the young Arthur Marshall, a student of Joplin’s. Scott Joplin himself only composed the trio to this piece.
Thanks for the info!
Hello! Omg, thank you for this music. One of my favourites. But can I ask a favour? Pls can you give me(us) the sheet music? Because I want to learn how to play it. Pls! TYSM! Will really appreciate it! Thank you.
Here it is, the original sheet music: www.loc.gov/item/ihas.200033281/
@@user-cj6pe3vy3b omg, tysm.
@@sunghoonnieee Yeah, no problem
:)
@@sunghoonnieee Did you learn it?
how did it go? :)
It's DOSUKOI!
Can you learn Tom Brier Razor Blades. It's a ragtime piece.
Why is Arthur Marshall's name excluded from this? He co-wrote this with Joplin.
He wrote pretty much all of it, Scott Joplin did this a lot because he knew people to get published so often took all the glory
@@tomiliveseyno he didn’t the guy who made this video forgot. The official sheet music says Arthur Marshall Scott Joplin proage
Cause he was a fruit.

could you tell me how much it took you to learn it ?
What piano do you use?
Hi Black Frog, for this video a Yamaha Montage 8 + pianoteq vst.
@@masterkeyz959 Thanks a lot my friend!
Where is my colt?
A little too slow Sir, but I like it nevertheless.
Just fyi: Joplin only wrote the trio, The majority of swipsey was written by Arthur Marshall.

@@tulvatjoet5533 it’s just a reminder on the part I needed to work on
@@peytonslusser1004 so you can play the entire song?
0,75x perfect
This is a better and more likely tempo ruclips.net/video/s3awKy33z2E/видео.htmlsi=TTQDL1onx7_fsQKn
Very nicely played. But you hit a wrong note in measure six of the third part. The very last note in the treble, in measure six of part three, should be an F but you play a G. It’s very minor, but in the original score it’s and F. You have a very wonderful technique.
Well no it's not Ragtime Piano, it's Cakewalk
It’s more rag then it is cakewalk
what is a Cakewalk
Played way to cautiously, precisely and mechanically. This should be played with verve and abandon.
