- Pineapple Rag by Scott Joplin is one of my favorite songs, if not my favorite. I played this every day for years but never posted a good recording of it on the channel. As I found this old recorded video, I decided to post it. It has excellent audio. Scott joplin would be proud! . Every now and then some lost videos appear that I forgot to post. And here's one!

I really like that you played the entire piece and not just a 5 second snippet. Well done, sir. Please play more whole songs.
That gave me a video idea - unfamiliar parts of songs you know =D
Very, very this.
there are lots of older videos of him playing entire pieces, but they are older and the titles are in portuguese, the videos with snippets are a lot more recent, for views
Nothing is more frustrating or more satisfying than cutting parts out or playing the entire piece of Pineapple Rag or any of Joplin's songs!
@@philipmiller0802 good idea !
Ahhhh, absolutely LOVE this! Scott Joplin, my favorite!!!
Me, too!
This is one of many Scott Joplin’s pieces that I just can’t get enough of. His ragtime pieces are some of the most cheerful and lighthearted music ever composed. I’m so glad to be living in the same universe where Joplin exists.
Excellent comment, I totally agree, such lovely cheerful music. I myself learned "The Entertainer " a long time ago and couldn't stop playing it, it gave me such pleasure. Für Elise had a similar effect; another all time favourite, although not Joplin of course.

WELL SAID. Greatest musical healer ever.
they aren't all cheerful and lighthearted, listen to solace. It's great in a different way
@googleuser2413magnetic rag
real pianists never disregard Scott Joplin... respect
Part of "The Sting"'s soundtrack. Indeed a fantastic rendition of Joplin's masterpiece !!!!
You cannot 'deny' true talent. Some have it and MANY do not. Nothing beats listening to the piano played well - rag, classic, songs from the 20's-40's or later. All superb.
Thank you for listening and now presenting complete (longer) pieces, showing your mastery in in the instrumentation of other's genius.
Oh my goodness, this is sublimely played - the right pace, not too rushed, every note equal weight smooth and flowing - really enjoying this, it's one of my top 2 Joplin pieces!!
My grandmother and my great-aunt played ragtime, and I have always loved it. Thank you this beautiful melody.
YES! Please play more complete compositions.
As a student of music I can not get enough of watching the masters at work!!
Genuinely one of those "feel good" pieces of music 😁 it's one of my favourites, up there with James Scott's Frog Legs Rag - which stuck in my head from a young age because it was the intro music on a VHS, I had, about trains. Mad...
Scott Joplin was musical genius. I'd go into time signatures, tempo changes, and mode deviations, but he always smoothed out the transitions and made it sound good and free flowing. Pineapple Rag is almost like 3 songs in one, but in a short 3.5 minute length radio friendly diddy package. Well played! Nice quality.
I agree the harmonies are so complex as well. I can't play his pieces well, but I've sat down and worked on them and am always amazed by how beautiful they are.
You had me at, "Scott Joplin was a musical genius," lol. I completely agree with your entire comment! Very insightful.
Most people know Scott Joplin for The Entertainer and Maple Leaf Rag but my favourite is Pineapple Rag.
I first heard ragtime music when I saw The Sting. It's incredibly beautiful and cheerful music.
Joplin was a musical genius.
If he lived longer he would have transformed the music world much more!
i agree. first song i learned of his was maple leaf rag (classic) and i was surprised by how harmonically interesting it was, along with the various variations on one theme. so fun! i looked into more of his music and was not disappointed. bethena is my personal favorite of joplin, not a rag but you can tell its him. he was indeed a genius
My favourite Joplin piece and it’s well played by Lord Vinheteiro
@ALEXA--------👇💋 WTF
@@marvuser1367thanks, now my alexa's crying
I love Scott Joplin, and Pineapple Rag! More ragtime, please!
Oh, this one took me back. When I took piano lessons as a kid, my teacher loved Scott Joplin. I learned this one and it's so nice to see that I actually was playing this piece at the proper speed back then (perhaps with a few more mistakes than you, lol!). This is seriously giving me the itch to get my instrument tuned up and dig that book out (yes, I still have it, 50 years later!) and give some ragtime a try again! Oh, and I love you have a shot of the pedal work! Gosh, I was doing that well too!
The Entertainer on repeat here!
woman, there's only one life, and the piano once it's part of our life I never left, so study piano again because it's a wonderful thing and it will do you a lot of good
Oh yes, do it! I wish I could play this, we need more classic ragtime music in this world.
I'm not a piano player, but ragtime seems to be harder to play than many classical pieces. You should have held on to it 😊
Very nice playing. It's much more enjoyable to listen to music played at the correct tempo rather than rushed through like so many seem to have to these days. Thanks for sharing it.
I recently heard Scott Joplin about 2-3 months ago and now I’m already in love with his music! It makes me so happy and it gives me a great mood every time I listen to this piece and many other pieces by him. Well done playing this dude 😄👍
You should watch The Sting.
where did you hear him ? he`s been dead for 100 years , ha !
I love Scott Joplin. So much joy!
I used to have a game called Locomotion on my PC and this song played through the 1920s era of the game. First time I've heard it played anywhere else. Amazing work.
i still have it
In bioshock infinite in the loading screen the game put solace in the background
AWESOME, I love ragtime, no one better than Scott Joplin, THANK YOU, for a full piece!!
I agree.
I agree, also.
Smoothest performance of this piece I've ever heard.
You have more than SEVEN MILLION subscribers!?! That’s fantastic! I guess I’m not the only one who has enjoyed your channel for years - and I don’t think you have spoken a single word! I love it because you could live in any country and no one would know, so, everyone is focused on the music.
Isso é uma verdadeira despoluição sonora. Música linda 💟
I like how you performed the piece without rushing the tempo; so many perform this piece incorrectly by trying to play it to fast. Well Done!👍🎹🎼🎵
Thank you!
@@AgFish86Zip90 No problem!
This is what Joplin intended.
Never play ragtime fast.

And that, Ladies & Gentlemen, is how to fly a happy piano with skill, precision & style . . . : )
Looks like a lot of fun to play, too. Outstanding as always, Vinheteiro.
That is the most amazing sounding piano. I just love the tone and the lower notes are amazing. It's not harsh like many other pianos and is a real pleasure to listen to.
Holy cow it's so fun, there's a reason I'm obsessed with ragtime
This piece is truly addictive. Once you learn it, it's hard not to play every single day lmao
I've loved playing Scott Joplin on the piano since I was a teen. Started out with The Entertainer and Maple Leaf Rag (which are still great fun), but my faves today are probably Weeping Willow and Sunflower Slow Rag. I don't know if I've played Pineapple Rag that much, but after hearing your wonderful rendition, I'll have to add it to my repertoire!
Personally, down home rag is underrated
Can't listen to this without thinking of the 1973 movie The Sting. Great music and a great movie. Enjoyed this because you didn't rush through it.
Люблю Джоплина - уникальный композитор. Ну и взгляд пианиста совершенно незабываемый.
This sounds nice. And the kind of pianos does make the music sounds different. I love this
You're the only one who gets the tempo correct.
I'm imagining that this is how Mr. Joplin would have played this most wonderful work himself. Great job sir. One of my favorite ragtime pieces. Maple leaf rag is probably my mostest favorite.
Enjoyed this piece. Outstanding !!
So glad that the movie “The Sting” used a lot of Scott Joplin’s music.
I saw the movie in London '74.
When I came back to Denmark, the guys at the record shop were so happy somebody afsked about Joplin, they played the music over the loudspeakers.
My late father would have loved to have played that again and to enjoy you also playing it like this too. Thank you.
It makes me very happy to know that this is one of if not your favorite songs. I love it so much!
I agree with you. This is my favourite of Joplin's songs. How appropriate I would stumble on this tonight as tomorrow morning I finally take delivery of an antique player piano (which has this roll in its collection!). I've been without a piano for more than 20 years when I had to leave my family piano behind when I immigrated to Canada. I look forward to tickling the ivories again and pumping the bellows when my old fingers get tired of playing on their own. Love your channel.
Whenever I hear the music of Joplin played well I’m amazed at its elegance. So smooth
I'm learning this song now. Is turning into one of my favorites as well.
Perfect tempo and treatment, sir. One of my very favorites.
Everything I watch of this guy just leaves me totally in awe. And so it should you too.
This is just outstanding and beautiful I want to cry 😢🎉😅😂❤😢😢
Scott Joplin’s piano rags composed some 125 years ago not only celebrate the American era in which they were composed but resonate today in timeless celebration of the American spirit. Joplin, a musical genius.
Complete compositions are the best!!!
Best version on RUclips by far! Excellent
Очень приятно посмотреть и послушать! Побольше выпускайте видео! Лучший канал, все видео классные:)))
I love this style. Scott Joplin was a master and so are you sir
Aw man I love Scott Joplin. I used to be able to play the entire peice of the entertainer both hands perfectly when I was 12, I could even play it faster than normal speed, also the entire jurassic park theme. But I forgot it sadly,it's been 6 years, guess I had a phase were I was kinda bored of piano☹ but now I still practice other tunes every week but none as complicated as those ones
Holy crap this was fantastic!!! So much fun to listen to!!
My mother loved ragtime music. Thank you for this. 🙏
Beautiful!
I waited so long for this!!! 👍👍👍🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Thank You!!!
Amazing. Thank you.
Прекрасное исполнение.)
Bravo!!! BRAVÍSSIMO!!!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Scott Joplin is a true artist.
EXCELLENT. Thank you!
Very nice! Gives me a bit of a tropical vibe🌴🌴🌴🍍🍍🍍
YAY! More "Rag"! What the world needs! 👍😊👍
So good! Thanks for playing for us. Wish you could perform an entire concert for us.
Yesss finally the full version 👍
By far one of my favorite Joplin pieces. What I would do to experience that time period.
Well done!
I like pineapples, but they don't like me because of their overbearing sweetness that diabetics can't have. The pineapple tag I think will do no harm to me being a diabetic, so I will play or actually listen to this piece over and over. Thank you Scott for playing a sweet time that I can enjoy.
Amazing good sound and the whole song in one 🤗
Thank you, this made me smile
You gotta love this guy!
I show my Wife his videos and She notices he doesn't smile.
He's smiling on the inside I tell Her 🤣🤣
Maybe shhe should watch some Liberace videoes, he is smiling non-stop.

This one song is reason enough to learn the piano. Beautiful rendition.
🇵🇪Desde Lima Perú ,abrazos y felicidades por la maravillosa melodía de tus teclas
The best background music every written. Puts classical quartet music to shame.
Such a beautiful sound! I am inspired to actually pick up this piece now. Thank you sir!
Fabulous! I love Scott Joplin music, it's so bright and lively.
Scott Joplin was amazing
Scott Joplin wrote so many beautiful and upbeat songs. You did great justice on this one, as you do with all the music you play!
Always been one of my favorite rags. Nice job
I don't know why, but I crack up a little when he stares into the viewer's soul :D
What’s this? No silly gimmicks? Bravo!
muito bom lordão , traz mas musicas inteiras assim, ficou perfeito.
You have inspired me to re learn this . Thank you .
I have never not seen this man in his suit.😁 clean
So much want to rewatch The Sting when hearing this again! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I have only ever heard this song in brief western movie scenes. The full piece is quite beautiful.
Ragtime e um estilo de musica que me agrada,avó do jazz, aprendi com o vinheteiro vendo seus videos.
Just Wonderful !!
Bravo!!!1 I love this song!!
My favorite song 😊
Thank you!
I love watching different playing styles of musicians on the same piece.
Toca pra caramba. Parabéns por todos os estudos e dedicação Lord.
Fun music that males one happy.
С удовольствием посмотрел и послушал , исполнение очень крутое .
Excellently done!!! Thank you for sharing this!!
You sure love playing rags! I love to listen to 'em. Used to play The Entertainer when I was lad.
I enjoy the wide variety of pieces played-no musical snobbery. ❤️
