Nah, he’s not scary. I went to school with him and he was always, always very nice. He was severely bullied for just being a little different and also for being gay. He’s in Richmond now, which is where this was shot but we grew up in Rockcastle County, Kentucky. It is a very, VERY small town located in the Bible Belt that is a little bit stuck back in time. People are very set in their ways and especially back when we were in school it was pretty bad. Most people were racist, homophobic and if you did anything that made you stand out from all the rest you were labeled a freak and made fun of and just overall treated like shit. He had been doing the whole fake profile thing for much longer than he said on the show though. He was doing that back in school too and that was another reason he got bullied but his problems really stemmed from all of the homophobia in our town. I can still see the sadness in his eyes and it breaks my heart. I hope he can get some therapy and maybe heal and get to a better place one day. He’s not scary at all.
