Sting picked this song to sing with Mr. Pavarotti. It was a song he used to sing in choir as a child. His voice is absolutely angelic in this...almost sounds like more than 1 voice at times. What a surreal experience it must have been for him!

VERY VERY moving and did you notice at the very end how Sting just shook his head in disbelief at what they had just done. What this turbulent world needs now is the peace and love just oozing from this work.
Better than expected. It's difficult to sing with such a strong operetic voice, but Sting as always found a perfect arrangement and made a nice duo. Bravissimo!

I will compliment pavarotti anymore. It is a given fact that Pavarotti is the greatest tenor. But hearing Sting it sound so heavenly. Like the angel is coming down from heaven.
WOW!!! Pavarotti is always Pavarotti but Sting really added such a unique and haunting sound effect that I think this is the most unique performance of this piece you will ever hear. I just loved how their voice blended and complimented each other so well. Simply Amazing!!!

I liked this much more than I expected to. The two voices are, of course, very different, but Sting certainly didn't shame himself next to one of the world's greatest opera singers. And the harmonies are really quite lovely.

Nothing strange... as well as Luciano was "one of the world's greatest opera singers", Sting has been one of the best Rock singer ever. In rock you don't care too much about the purity of the sound, however, Sting has a tenor range that went over the high E.
In his first years of Police, he hit high D almost with no effort.
And apart his vocal talent, he was a musical genius as concern composition. He lost himself at a certain point, but, he was well-known for how easy he can write songs for most part of his career. I'm talking about hundreds of songs.
Then he lost his inspiration and never came back...

Imagine you're outside passing by and didn't know who was in the concert...then the VOICE comes out, everything you were thinking goes into Pause, and the only thing is to stop to let your mind absorb that power...it reaches in and makes your heart skip a beat... Now, imagine being a Super Star like Sting. Putting your shoes on, getting ready to leave the house to go perform. As youve done 1,000 times, but this time is different... An earlier post put it spot-on...When have You ever seen Sting walk out on stage nervous? Id give Sting more props than Pav...the guts, knowing at your best, your going to be a supporting voice... Awesome. I've so much respect for Sting to do this...Good for You Brother. Pavarotti has God's voice and Sting deserves mad respect.

He asked for a short time of prayer at the seminary. So they took search dogs to do a sweep of the building before the Pope could enter. The dogs were trained to sit if a person were present. They sat at the tabernacle.
