DCU Batman Could be the BEST Adaptation

  • Batman: The Brave and the Bold, directed by Andy Muschietti, known for The Flash (2023), is set to serve as the DCU's introduction to both Batman and Damian Wayne's Robin. Matt Reeves' portrayal of The Batman, featuring Robert Pattinson, will remain separate from James Gunn's DCU. On top of that, the Arkham show will take place in James Gunn's DCU. This separation allows for the introduction of a new actor to take up the Batman mantle, distinct from Ben Affleck's portrayal in the DCEU. The Batfamily will be introduced with new interpretations of characters such as Nightwing and possibly Jason Todd's Red Hood, along with Batgirl. Superman Legacy is poised to bring in a younger Superman, prompting concerns about the potential age disparity between Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent. The introduction of new actors for Batman and Superman also implies a need for a fresh Wonder Woman actress and a complete recasting of the Justice League.

      I love Arkham Batman. But he was kinda too tech heavy. I think Batman is at his peak with tech and raw detective in the pre-N52 content. New 52 and Arkham kinda borderline the Iron Man territory. Like a lot of the crime scenes, his cowl solves for him. He should have a lot of tech, but not the point where he's op. Especially if he's spending most of his time Gotham. I'd have to give it a pass if he's in a League movie tho.

    DCAU Batman will always be the greatest adaptation of the character he's the most human. DCAU Batman was a good person he cared about his villains and he stood by the people he loved.The greatest Batman scene in my opinion is when he comforted Ace in her final moments that's the kind of person Bruce Wayne is. Another great moment is when he visited Superman's grave and showed him respect. That's the kind of Batman we need in live action.

    I'm thinking that whoever is cast as Bruce Wayne for The Brave and The Bold will be 35-40, and they will build up his relationship with Damian, then have Bruce "die" in the first Justice League movie, and follow up with a battle for the cowl movie that brings back Jason Todd, then finally capping off the trilogy with a movie called Batman and Robin. It would fully establish Dick as Batman, and he and Superman would be contemporaries. And be the Batman moving forward. Then the actor for Bruce Wayne can make appearances as Batman for flash backs, and series set earlier in the timeline to flesh out his time, before ultimately being brought back, to serve almost as a Nick Fury type building Batman Incorporated

    • @coltongates7397
      @coltongates7397 7 месяцев назад +2

      Why would you kill off a character like Batman in the first Justice League film😹😹 goofy as fuck

    • @corybryson2181
      @corybryson2181 5 месяцев назад

      @coltongates7397 cause we've seen Bruce Wayne as Batman in live action at least 11 times since his creation, and countless times in Animation, Games, Radio drama formats, and literally anything else imaginable.
      Gunn has made it known that the inspiration for Brave and The Bold will be Batman by Grant Morrison. A big part of that storyline is Bruce Wayne dying and Dick Grayson becoming Batman and giving Damien the Robin identity. This fundamentally switches the relationship ship between Batman and Robin, where you have a fun, charismatic Batman, and a dead serious Robin.
      I think this is the exact kind of shake-up Gunn would want to have. Especially with his comments on Batman and Superman being contemporaries. Superman is around his mid to late 20s at this point. If they stick with how Bruce's origins are usually depicted and they're the same age, Bruce Wayne would have just returned to Gotham and is currently becoming Batman or would have been Batman for a very short period of time.
      However, Gunn has also said they're looking to introduce and explore the Bat family in The Brave and The Bold. Typically, Bruce is Batman for about 2 years before bringing in Dick. If Dick Grayson is Nightwing at this point and started at 13, he'd need to have been Robin for 6 years having him leave and become Nightwing at 19. At some point in those 6 years, Batgirl would likely also begin her career. Then, after some time, Bruce would pick up Jason. Let's say he's Robin for 4 years and then is murdered by the joker.
      So, at this point, Batman is 37. Let's say they skip over Tim Drake (disappointing but not surprising), and after Jason's death, Batman is alone for about 2 years. Depending on Damien's date of conception, he would be around 10-14.
      So, at this point, Batman is 41 going on 42, almost double the age of Superman, but Dick Grayson at this time would be around 25, thus making him contemporaries with Clark.
      It's also simple and fresh for audiences. If you have these movies going on at the same The Batman trilogy, it's a lot simpler for audiences to say, "They're clearly different Batman cause they don't have the same name, and this one has a completely different personality.

You would miss out on so many great stories by killing Bruce in the first JL movie (UTRH, Tower of Babel).
      I think the best idea would be for Bruce to get a trilogy and then star in 3 or 4 Justice League movies and then exit the DCU alongside Superman and the other main heroes. Then characters like Nightwing and Superboy can twine over.
