In case no one else pointed this out, you're not relieving pressure in the planet. You're generating an atmosphere, increasing pressure, by venting gases trapped in the ground. So, you're increasing pressure, not relieving it.

Is there no map to tell you where your landing pod is? a way to put waypoints for items you want to come back to?
You need to send a gps satellite in space before you get a map.
Long before that you can make beacons to get waypoints but not at the beginning.
