I have followed you since your first video. Always a pleasure. My o’ my how the kids have grown. Beautiful area eh? I hiked in from the house 2 weeks ago. It was a real mess then from the storm as was my place. All the best. Health and safe travels to your family.
Thanks again. Time sure does fly by. A few years with children seems like a lifetime because of how fast they grow up. My oldest is a freshman in college this year. How did that happen???😂🙄😢
Awesome adventure! I love the idea of bike & camp trips ... that might be the ticket to get my kids out a bit more next year! Beautiful location - I definitely need to get out there for myself. Thanks for sharing!
Great video but as an update the spot where they camped is now posted Camping Prohibited. It is very difficult to find a spot for a tent there as there are no camping disks all over. The lean-to was interesting - had fold down cots made of wood on the sides, but that appears to be the only legal site - and even there the signs were confusing as the had more of them facing the lean-to.
I understand. I assisted in building the lean to at that site. It is meant to be ADA accessible. There are a lot of haphazard application of rules in this area. You would think they would establish a few tent sites at that clearing. Very strange.🤷🏻♂️
Yes - it seems like they could come to some compromise. People coming in for the day could bring trash too. I ended up setting up a tent - legally as far as I could tell - in what I believe was the parking area for the maintenance garage. In perfect view of the most unusually placed thunder box I have ever seen. I guess if they make it as unwelcoming as possible few people will stay - I left after 1 night instead of 2. Now, The lean-to is very nice - is it really ADA considering the hill it's on? I found your video on the construction, looked like fun - that's Lean2Rescue from Bville area? @@twotonadk
@@timcallahan153 Lean2Rescue pulls folks from all over the state. Lot of western NY guys. Yes it is meant to be an accessible lean to. Again, haphazard application and lack of follow through. The road heading up to lean to was supposed to be improved to allow access.🤷🏻♂️
This trip I broke out my old 70L due to packing two tent and bunch of stuff for the kids that I normally wouldn't. I chose a 60L for main pack for week long trips that I also use on most my weekend trips.
Two Ton's Adirondack Rambles great video. Ok thanks, Im nee to backpacking, been a day hiker forever and i have never gone backpacking so Im looking to start with one night and maybe 2 nights. I ordered a 65 liter atmos from rei, is that to big, should i go with a gregory zuku 55 or paragon 58 instead ? What size should i go with. I have a 5pound rei tent 2 pound bag etc... Also where do you store your food at night in a bear vault or do you hang from tree? Thanks!!
@@tdg223 I dont think you can go wrong with the Atmos 65. You may downsize once you "evolve". Lol You are required to have a bear can in the Eastern (soon to be central) High Peaks. Most use the Garcia due to its proven effectiveness. I use an Ursack in most other locales.
Beautiful trip. Beautiful kids. Time spent together priceless.
Amen.😊
Thank you looks like fun!
It was a great time!😁
Great video
Thank you!😁

Get out there before the state opens the road back up! It feels like a wilderness with road closed and DisneyLand when it's open...😥
@@twotonadk I liked your ski trip from last winter, so I may slap the snowshoes on and trek out this winter ... at least if theres snow ...
