This saxophonist kills IT. I loved this song on YOUNG AMERICANS, DB's most misunderstood album. Fuk the critics "plastic soul" taunt. F SCOTT F might suggest DB reworks GREAT GATSBY for YOUNG AMERICANS.
I saw the tour of Stationtostation in February 1976 at the Montreal Forum I was 15. Remember it like yesterday. Absolutely wonderful I remember Bowie had a pack of Gaullois cigarettes in his vest pocket so I started smoking them ( raunchy things lol) I no longer smoke (cigs that is ) the show was all white lights and started , instead of a back up band , with a very well know bizarre French short film. Very cool.
I saw the same tour in Michigan--first concert I ever saw, and very much as you describe it. Bowie was VERY late, but they shows the film on time. It was Un Chien Andalou, and an arena of thousands of drunk, high Midwestern kids gasped and groaned together at the big (completely unexpected) shot. Unforgettable. Thanks for sharing.
Amazing performance, the sax on this song hits the soul, I feel happy everytime I hear it. Congratulations to the band!
Amazing cover!

Terrific performance of this great Bowie classic. I love the saxophone. The variation of the sax theme is still great.
