I meant "at last" as in since the music of those bands. Not "at last" as in goth music never existed before.
Never listened to Sister of Mercy though.
They are not that good, but I like Alien Sex Fiend and Christian Death a lot

This album will always have a special place in my heart and will always be my favorite album of all time. I remember putting in the preorder and the release date kept getting delayed, which didn’t bother me at all, I didn’t mind, I knew they were still in the editing and mixing process and were to release it when it was ready. When it came out in 2014 I remember putting it on for the very first time having absolutely no idea what I was in for and can say it far exceeded my expectations and was more than worth the wait. The seamless instrumentation and violin and cello that ties the whole thing together when played beginning to end and each transition from one song to the next, it was an aquarium of sound and musical ambience and a complete masterpiece. And then I saw my name in the album credits as a patron and felt absolutely privileged to be a part of the JH community and helping put this album out there. It still gives me chills
