Christian Field Not really. Here where I live, most paid crews have a Sergeant and a Captain on them in addition to 1-3 other firefighters. The Sgt is the driver/engineer/operator and the captain is the company commander. The sgt would be equivalent to the rank of lieutenant
@@ArmEConDoesMinecraft Interesting...I always thought Sergeant was equivalent to the rank of Senior Firefighter? I could understand it being the same as Lieutenant, and yeah, a lot of big departments have Captain’s as the charge officers. But I will say, I’ve never seen anyone in the Lieutenant’s position be a driver before, definitely a first for me.
For us over in San Mateo, CA...we have a Lt or Capt in the front passenger (taking radio, CAD and commanding the Engine/Truck/Squad) and an Engineer who drives, controls the water pumps and controls the ladder (if on Truck).
In my local Dept, all the officers have to be qualified to drive the rigs. That way, if there's no chauffeur, the officer drives and the next-highest person takes charge.
Technically its not a spartan its a spartan evolution cab on a Rosenbauer chassis you can tell because rosenbauer puts their "R" logo on the pump, grill and seats.
On the career side it's not very common to see lieutenants driving but on the volunteer side when there could be several officers on one shift it's not uncommon to see a lieutenant drive the rig. I was lieutenant and the fire department for almost 10 years and I drove most of the time myself.
sports fan82 No were not, no matter what you think this counted as a drill for the firefighters and was good training, You'll live with the little amount of water this drill used.
Interesting how the lieutenant instead of being in charge of the truck, is more-so just an engineer.

Where I'm at LT is company commander.

Very Well Done!!! Thank you for doing this series
Interesting being the city manager -- apparently he approved the funding!
in the csfd a lieutenant is in charge of a rig
I saw you at station one Scott, not during this though
Scott neal is smart asf
I farted once
I guess the fire truck got a wash... XD
Expertutilage
Why did you fast foward when he was talking? =(
LMAO I could tell this was MN just from the accents. Hello from Andover XD
Cool video.🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧
Wird is the l.t supposed to be an officer and in charge of the truck
cool!
lieutenants don't drive!!!
they do in North Carolina
It depends on the city corps! Or jurisdiction station
My town ship and the surrounding communities lieutenants do duel purpose on the rig either driver or navigator.
It all depends on the city, county state
In my local Dept, all the officers have to be qualified to drive the rigs. That way, if there's no chauffeur, the officer drives and the next-highest person takes charge.
I hate Spartan fire apparatus especially the gladiator chassis
Wyatt Fisher have to say I’m a pierce fan myself..
I like the kind that fight's fires... (any model that can put water on the fire and not break while doing so)
Nah they are okauy
Wyatt Fisher Spartans are amazing! If you don’t like Spartans, your not a fire truck lover. All of our engines are on a Spartan chassis.

Lieutenants don’t drive, they are in the passenger seat.🙄
It depends on City corps or Marshalls department!
lil jinxer it’s the same way in all towns in my county, and some others as well. Denver has Lieutenants that don’t drive

Daniel Russell we never have that. You’ll usually see an engineer, or certified firefighter driving. Very rarely does my dad drive. He’s a captain.
Good tutorial.
FIRE!
terrible layout on these trucks in my opionion
opinion *
Fix your grammar 1st!
Tyler Kousaie nah. Rear mounted pump makes for less walking back and forth. Everything is close. Cab is kewl. It just needs a Q.
Bob
Your wasting water

Just fyi.... water will never leave the earth lol... you people who think we're running out if water are clearly stupid.
The water will evaporate. Nothing wrong with that.
You should show the taxpayers how they get paid to sleep on the job!
