I get a kick out of how many so called Heads reply with negative comments and energy. Why do they waste their time? One person said they'd rather see Jerry's Middle Finger. Well , I'm sure they are playing tonite. Also, the people who cry about prices. Believe ot or not their prices are much lower than a whole lot of bands touring. I hate the prices too. I can't make every show these days. I pick the ones I want and I save up for a few weeks and I go have an grate time. I did not want to like John Mayer but he won me over. He really went to school on their music and fell in love with the community, and he is not trying to be Jerry. To sum up what my feelings about these shows here it is. I got 10 years of shows with Jerry, what a gift. In 95'I really thougt it was over . But there was Rat Dog , Phil and Friends, etc.. But I really enjoy this version. Mayer is a top notch player, Jeff always kills it and so does Oteil. Bottom line is that more than anything I want to hear the songs and music that I love while dancing with the Heads in the community I love with all my heart. I feel so blessed to get to keep these experiences going til I'm gone from this world. NFA!
It's totally fine to not dig this band and prefer another Dead elated band. To continue to come here, watch, listen , bitch, moan and whine shows more Lilley they just have mental illnesses. The definition of instantly is continuing to listen to music you hate and despise. The never were Deadheads anyway, I toured with the Dead, there always was a group of Wooks who thought they were the only real deal., Snobby d-bags just like in any other group of people.
Yes. I can instantly tell and spot somebody who doesn't "get it" when they start talking about how slow dead and Company play. They've learned nothing I see
Hell yeah man! I’m enjoying the ride, people will miss it when it’s gone even though I hope the music never stops, you never know. Cherish it while you can, always! NFA ⚡️
how is it a cover band when you have original members of the band doing the songs they done for years, D.S.O./ DEAD FLOYD those are cover band this band is just an extention of GD, thus the name dead & company
@@anna42059 You may of not ever heard The Original Grateful Dead but 2 drummers and the lead vocal/ rhy. guitar playing strictly Grateful Dead songs with Rock and Roll Johnny and a Mute Bass extends nothing of the GD and is the Very Definition of a Cover Band. Its the Greatest Cover Band because it has 3 of the least Dynamic members of the Original.
All these people bagging D&C just don't get it in my opinion. The Dead were essentially a cover band-both of their own stuff, like D&C is, and of many other artists. True D&C have not produced any new songs, but the bulk of the Dead's opus over it's lifetime was expanding on, extending, interpreting, changing genres of and otherwise reworking their existing canon of work. Unlike other bands, the Dead, after their Warner Bros contract ended, were not required to produce new content and then tour to promote those new albums at specified intervals. The Dead produced new material at their own pace and infiltrated that new material into their existing concert repertoire slowly over time. They primarily improvised on, i.e. covered, their existing repertoire during their concerts which were really is what they primarily were all about. D&C has done this wonderfully and, in my opinion, may actually reflect something close to what the Dead might have been had they still been here today.
Nice footage and sound, some of the other videos out there have not been much cop, this is the best so far. Especially the sound, given this venue is supposed to be state of the art, so far, its not impressed me sound wise. I have several issues about this venue, firstly the light show isn't synched to the music, its more or less the same each night and yet the dead play a different set. Its worst when the band are playing fast and the speed of the images is very slow. As someone who has run light shows, its best when tempo and content are in harmony with the music. Then something special can happen . The screen is also too large, it dwarfs the band, its takes over from them. The other is the conspicuous waste of energy. I'm in Australia, so I dunno if i would have gone to see this if i lived in the US, probably not, I can afford the tickets, but I wont pay those prices on principle . I'm glad some people get off on it, but you also need to realize that other peoples views on this are just as valid as yours. Mine are based on the environment that I prefer to see bands in and also the waste of energy. I much preferred watching this close up view than i did watching the ones taken from the balconies, where the band are the size of pygmy's , the height /slope of the venue is vomit making and the band are totally dwarfed by the background images. Music wise, it is what it is, some of its great and some of its pretty ordinary, as most D&C shows have been over the years ( and to be realistic what many Dead shows were like after around 1990 ).

**yawn**
Well, I'm sure it was a blast in person but, hearing this clip at least, I'd rather spend 20 bucks and see Jerry's Middle Finger at a bar.
Too bad.
Love Jerry’s middle finger! Just saw them twice on the east coast tour! Must see band for any head
Hahaha... I like you😅
🥱 Please retire for good and let Mayor go back to playing for teenage girls.
Says a person who knows nothing about Mayer except that he had some pop hits lok
