I hate dreams. The only dreams i get are really bad dreams. Now I don’t get them often anymore. Last 2 weeks i had a few, but i hope they’ll stay away for atleast a month now that i feel a slight bit better. It’s really not the time that i can take being sleep deprived. Just too much stress and things to do. I almost even forgot my own birthday 2 weeks ago. Working out helps a lot, but I really need more sleep to have better training weeks before an upcoming competition. Last weekend i got some rest though, that was good. But my mind is everywhere at the moment, so this comment is probably really long. Now something positive. Everything sounds really good on my new headphones…

Hey Justsome! I wasn't having problems getting good sleep but I was having trouble falling asleep. For me shutting down all devices 30 to 45 minutes before bed really helped. Exchanged my phone/TV for a book and found it easier to sleep. Not sure if it will help you but wanted to share. Good luck!!

It's about night terrors, and this song describes it perfectly.
"Body froze like my heart stopped
REM waves got my limbs locked down but my eyes wide open
    Sheer terror manifest before me"

Parkway Drive are amazing. Winston, the singer, is without doubt one of the nicest, most humble, loveliest guys you'll EVER meet. And if you want another amazing song and film clip to check the clip for "The Greatest Fear." That clip is sensational, and so's the song. Bring the tissues, you might need them.

Mental Health has been a topic that Parkway Drive already talked about on their debut record in 2005, f.e. the most popular song from that record, Romance is Dead, calls out the glorification of mental health issues that was present in the scene back then.

    TW Trauma/Flashbacks
The line "Sleep is now my enemy", speaks to me in a different sense.
As someone who has C-PTSD, I sometimes encounter Flashbacks. They're not common, but when they hit me, they can affect me for days. Leaving me afraid to fall asleep.
I take Prazosin to help and it helps, a bit, but I need the addition of Cannabis to get me to fall and stay asleep

I am having mixed emotions tonight. To react to this song I personally couldn’t watch the movie due to the flashes/glitches at the beginning. (Seizure trigger). However, liked what you commented about it. :) Sorry in advance for this really long comment. This is the first time I have truly shared my mental health journey. I’ve touched on it, but never fully opened up. 😢
Back to the mixed emotions. Tomorrow will be a year since I tried to stop all this pain and the horrible life I was thrown into. Yes, I have come a long way from then including moving into a new home and starting over again. Change for me is bad for me though due to being autistic (was diagnosed also a year ago at 25 years old). I was born into a family that did not want me at all. I and my 3 other twins were meant to be aborted. Our mother tried to just make us go away like we didn’t matter even before giving us a chance. I still have scars on my body from that. Fast forward 6 abusive years of sexual, verbal, and mental we were taken away from our mother and her so called boyfriend and put into foster care where I found myself in worse situations because no one wanted a troubled child. By age 7 I was in 9 different homes and had 2 visits to the hospital for phych evaluation and hospitalization. Then after the last incident I and two older sisters were given to our grandparents of whom they then had custody and our mother chose a man over her children and signed her rights away to never have to see or hear from us. I was finally ok. I had everything I wanted and needed, but I was still broken and my grandfather knew it. I was terrified of him. By age 13, I had been sent to the hospital 8 times for throwing a fit, having meltdowns, you name it but never drugs or anything like that (not at that point). Shortly after my 13th birthday he used me for his enjoyment and ended up getting me pregnant. No one believed me or would even listen when I tried to tell them what happened. He ended leaving the house and never returned though. So, I think someone knew. They just wouldn’t admit it. At 15 I lost it. I started acting out and not bothering who cared. I hated everyone. I still went to church and acted “ok”, but I was dead inside. I started doing drugs and drinking. I had OD numerous times and woke up never knowing where I was. I then joined the armed forces that year hoping to have a fresh start. I did have a fresh start alright! Fast forward 4 years and after 2 tours, I was discharged medically due to PTSD, shrapnel in my back from IEDs, and A LOT of mental issues. I was discharged and I had no clue how to cope with a civilian reality (still don’t really). I started really drinking again. I was still underaged and I was a severe alcoholic. It is all I knew. That was my way to numb the body and turn off the brain. I ended up homeless after yet another visit to the hospital and I had no place to go. At age 23 I had no one. No one cared, no one loved, and no roof over my head. I spent a year like that. Last year an officer saved my life. I had enough of everything; the sleeping in my car or under the stars, I was so tired of the need for alcohol in my body just so I could live, and so tired of not being wanted or needed. I ended up ODing and mixing it with alcohol hoping never to wake up ever again. An officer found me water born as I had passed out in the water and having a very weak pulse. He apparently had given me CPR and all I really know is I woke up with a tube down my throat in a hospital bed and that officer right by me waiting for me to wake up. That was my turn around. I am now a Christian, I was going through counseling (not currently because of finances), and I am alcohol free for a year come my birthday in 4 weeks. Yes, I still have a long road ahead including overcoming an eating disorder and self harming, but one step at a time. :)

This song to me is 100% PSTD driven. For most people sleep is an escape, you can get away from everything with sleep. Until you have PTSD, sleep then becomes the opposite of an escape driving one to insomnia and so many people only see one way out of that place. I have never watched the music video until now, but it hits so much harder when you watch the video. It’s no longer just words.

PLEASE react to "Given up" by Linkin Park.
Chester Bennington (the lead singer) took his own life, and it's not hard to see from that song, that he was both literally, and metaphorically screaming for help.
