I feel that they aren't going to do that just for the claw, but it might happen later during a lull period. However, I have no doubt that in terms of popularity and profit potential, the T Rex is just begging to be remade! They might be biding their time to really perfect it... I have a sneaking suspicion if PNSO ever decides to do lips again, the T Rex would be a prime candidate! 😁
Yes it's very complex and subtle, without being garish and outlandish. And even though it's still stripe and earth tones, put together very nicely indeed!
Totally off topic, Rebor’s Diplodocus is up for preorder on BigBadToyStore’s site. $69.99 + shipping with a choice of male and female. The really exciting thing is they are in 1/35 scale. They are both a little over 32 inches in length and I’m going to assume Some Assembly Required. The photos provided also show the neck and tail elements to have a high degree of motion for posing possibilities. Sweet Giga! This will be a “must have” since I have only one other Giganotosaurus and someone broke it.
Thomas, for an off-topic like that, feel free to flood the comments 🤣 I would imagine you definitely won't get it in one part, or the shipping would probably cost as much as - if not more than - the model itself! Hmmm.... the other Giganotosaurus you reference wouldn't be a JP one that someone broke and not accidentally, would it! 😂
Great review. I really enjoy the science section of your reviews, it's very well incorporated and interesting. I'm looking forward to your review of PNSO's Meraxes 😁
Make sure you use the stands, AND don't put them too close the edge of the shelf! Put them in a little. These are so beautifully and subtly done you don't want to risk scuff marks! 😫
I'm glad! They really did make some updates that fixes some of the previous errors at least for me. And while I liked the Old Lucas, I really would like to have one up-to-date representative!
He looks better in hand for me, the size is amazing! Absolutely handsome guy this Lucas! Cant wait to order mine. Im wishing for Marine reptiles, Albertosaurus and even Teratophoneus
Thank you for stopping by! I wouldn't consider it grinding since I enjoy it so much 😁 But PNSO keeps me busy, and I have still many neglected dragons to get back to! 😪
According to jurassic world dominion leading paleontology consultant steve brusatte the giganotosaurus appearance was changed by request from universal, Amblin entertainment, colin trevorrow and steven spielberg caused they're afraid that some audience members might confuse the giganotosaurus with the franchises tyrannosaurus rex dude
Thanks I didn't know that! I knew that they probably just ignored whatever consultant they hired, like they did before. Makes me wonder why they hire them in the first place. But to JWD's credit, they did try to introducte feathers and filaments, so that's a noteworthy step.
This is in my opinion the best giganotosaurus figure out there most accurate and size is perfect but we need a Meraxes or Mila the Mapusaurus or a prey species for giganotosaurus but love this figure and another amazing review to boot. Hopefully a another remake like Paul the allosaurus or a Asian carcharodontosaurid.
I suspect that if PNSO made another carcharodontosaurid, it would look so similar that unless it really differentiated it in terms of pose and pattern, there will be many grumbles about looking just the same. I for one however, would love to have an official "Mapusaurus" model. I don't have even one! 🤣
Excelente!!!
5:40 I think they were thinking of concavenator and Acrocanthosaurus when making the design, which is inaccurate, but it helps differentiate the giga from the rex in the movie for casual movie watchers.
Ah, that is a good point! Yes I did not make the link to Concavenator, but it doesn't surprise me if that's exactly what someone thought it was a good idea to do. Still, many people obviously like it considering how well the Nanmu Giga is selling 😁
Thank you so much for translating the meters into feet for every animal every time, it's really annoying to have to go to Google for conversions in the middle of a video so I'm glad this channel doesn't follow the same formula as everyone else.
You're most welcome! I'm glad you appreciate it. I try to think about what _I_ would like to see, and my problem is a reflection of yours.... every time I see something in feet I have to waste time trying to convert it to meters lol! Different strokes, different folks, same problem! 🤣
Great review!! 👍🏻👍🏻 Personally I hope they won’t make another Tyrannosaurus and Spinosaurus with the Eofauna and the Mesozoic Life versions on the horizon, respectively. I can’t imagine those two being toppled. Instead, when it comes to their Museum Line (which I hope they would just ditch anyways as they’re unnecessarily more expensive than the prehistoric animal models line) an updated Amargasaurus would be much more needed imo (I see them doing it). There are also tons of exquisitely preserved dinosaurs from their local Jehol Biota they haven’t felt like exploring in much depth, imo those taxa would be much more interesting subject for figures than the fragmentary Zhuchengtyrannus, “Sinopliosaurus”… 😅
Good point! I'm especially keen to see how the Mesozoic Life Spinosaurus turns out. PNSO is probably taking its time to really study and think about the next version of Wilson. Certainly they've seen enough to give them an idea of what works and what doesn't! Absolutely agree that there are many Chinese dinosaurs just begging for a release. Those would have to be in larger than 1:35 I believe to fully show them in their splendour. I wouldn't mind a different scale for smaller dinosaurs for sure! And how could I forget Amargasaurus! My favourite dinosaur clade are the sauropods, so an update to this dinosaur would be very welcome! Especially since it's a relatively small dicraeosaurid, they have to give it to us in 1:35! 😁
Hello DinosDragons! I have really enjoyed your pnso model reviews. I am starting a collection myself but due to budget and space, I cant really buy alot. Do you have like a top 5-10 reccomended models i should pick? Thank you so much!
Interesting I've had quite a few similar questions, and I would say that you should first list out your criteria. For example, if you have limited space, how do you envision using it? Do you have size or scale preferences? Would you like to have many small models, or a few large ones? That already helps you factor in cost and prices. Because of limited space, it's better to spend on a few quality ones you really want, which meet most of your criteria, then to spend on lesser ones you will regret later. What are these criteria? For example is scientific accuracy the most important thing to you? That will exclude a lot already and you may have to save up for PNSOs or even Rebor if they continue their current focus. Or do you really want something beautifully sculpted with very high detail? Then you could start to consider Papo at the lower end and Nanmu at the higher end since the scientific accuracy isn't an issue. What price range would be considered acceptable if it meets all your criteria? Last of all, I would advise anyone starting out, not to think in terms of a _collection_ unless it's what you really want. Many of us started buying stuff we liked, and in time, then it became a collection, at the cost of money and space. But many others don't really, and then they have a few precious pieces that take up fewer total space. Starting in terms of buying a few you like instead of getting a collection going means you don't feel like you must fill up a certain quota as well. I don't know how old you are, but many collectors as they get along, get married, have kids, and so on, find that they are forced to prune their collections for most space. It's a very sad process for many, and so it's something worth considering too. Good luck! 😁
I can't speak to accuracy, but you are certainly correct in your observation. I forgot to make the point that there is a slighly level up from the Giganoto compared to the Meraxes. Perhaps the Museum Line pieces get the best possible paint and sculpts.
Even deeper down, there is no such thing as accurate dinosaurs let alone dinosaur figures lol. PNSO making a killing off folks new to how paleontology actually works.
What do you think about a t-rex figure from DE CLAY Studio? It looks really good, but the price is pretty high. Btw, this Giganotosaurus figure is amazing, pnso figures are promising!
The De Clay Studio T Rex is an example of painting at its finest and most complex, and how a model can be elevated to the heavens because of it. One might argue it's not really _high priced_ but _high value_ because you can see it's worlds apart from what many people are doing. It's the kind of work I wuld buy not to put together with the other 300 dinosaurs, but in a special spot on its own. Especially if you get the 1:35, because there are many other dinosaurs larger. The 1:20 version would be truly a centrepiece work of art, and there's not a chance of it getting lost. I would definitely buy that... if I struck the lottery.
@@DinosDragons I agree with you! It looks like a masterpiece and it seems like it has a high value! I hope that the paintwork is equal to what is shown in the promotional images! (I mean not like previous PNSO paintings) I think I am going to have 1/35 scale one since I have not won a lottery yet... Lol
There is that hot water idea where you soften it in hot water, then hold it in the position you want.It should keep when it cools down. But it is never permanent. Unfortunately PNSO uses a really soft material compared to HLG who use a harder plastic for their legs.
Haha thank you! But I never really notice these things. For the first few years I had about 50-80 subscribers, and didn't actually notice some other numbers until viewers pointed them out to me. Thanks for noticing! 😁
Very observant! Yes, the manufacture date is often ahead of when they actually release it. I usually label my videos according to the year it came out.
To be honest this is by far my favorite giganotosaurus figure for now until we find more figures and it’s much better than the other PNS0 giganotosaurus
Very obvious differences! The only thing is the size is smaller, and you lack the base. There is also a vividness that shows in the old one that this, being more subtly painted, doesn't.
Wow that's a difficult question to answer without knowing more about what you're looking for! A little more info? But I guess the answer is moot now, since with the new Cameron T Rex maybe you have another question to worry about now! 🤣
@@DinosDragons I ended up getting the giga right now, as I already have the safari and papo rexes and I do not own any carcharodontosaurid yet. I’m so excited it arrives today! 😁
@@DinosDragons haha. Your every reviews specially with the PNSO figures is like my favorite food. No talking just love and keep on eating it. 😄😄♥️♥️. Great review sir as always. 🥰🥰.
lol At this point, either PNSO got great deal to buy brown, beige, & black, paint in bulk quanities, or they convinced all dinosaurs came from the same 2 parents ; )
🤣Haha, many on the Chinese forums complain about this as well! To their credit, although they do use earth tones plus stripes, they have managed to make each sufficiently different so you don't get facsimiles. But I do hope for more creative use of patterning, as they did with their Acrocanthosaurus!
Yet another great remake from pnso, the only failure is the repetitive colour scheme. It made me realize how outdated and cartoony the previous version was, along with the eofauna's head Ps: it's funny how its iconic chin reminds me the gigahad meme
I had to look up what the Gigachad meme was... and now that I've seen it, I can't unsee the similarity! 😂 If I'd known, it was have been a must-have comedic element to this video! 🤣
Kinda sad the museum line now truly embracing their price ups, no bonuses at all to be seen just randomly higher price for 20 poster noone uses. Otherwise an awesome figure sadly imma get it as my eofauna doesnt fit my other dinos quite.
It's really all to do with how wide you want to stretch phylogenetic bracketing, and then extrapolate from that. PNSO has in fact included feathers in their included artwork, although the actual model itself won't have it.
The head looks really huge and oversized on this. Doesn't seem to match skeletal reconstructions. Is this a blunder or is there evidence for its head to be that big?
Dont know how to feel about this one, the museum line pricing makes it a hard buy especially when the carcharodontosaurus & acrocanthosaurus are so much cheaper but barely smaller with just as much detail
I think it comes down to what you look for in a model, and whether you like the genus enough if you already have the others. The Acrocanthosaurus I would feel is sufficiently different in colour and form to get. Carcharodonto and Giganoto is a harder thing to differentiate 😪 For me I did want an update to a pretty important dinosaur incorporating Meraxes, so I got it. If you're not really particular, I think you would be happy with the Carcharodontosaurus, though it does have a rather pointy snout.
PNSO Giganotosaurus is currently the best on the market. Pity that the tail isn't more beefy. I hope for 1:35 Majungasaurus similar to the one from Planet Dinosaur.
Good sculpture, don't like too much the paint scheme. Eofauna one at 30 euros is a best deal... Pnso are becoming too expensive...at this price i pretend painting similar to the vitae one which is fantastic
Yes I believe beyond a certain price range, you have to think whether it would be worth paying an artist to paint a modle exactly the way you want it. Of course if you have the skill, you could even save money and enjoy a lot more!
@@DinosDragons yes but a professional painting has an high price...paintings as rebor models are good for me at the right price... Pnso has good painting but i am tired of usual colours...all brown and flat colour scheme..
Just try to get one from an early run... the earlier the better! Though I hope that for a Museum Line, the quality of paint application wouldn't have deterioriated noticeably yet.
That also is one major factor why I'm a fan of bases. They allow a lot more dynamism without having to resort to clown feet and oodles of unsightly hip bulk.
When you compared Wilson to Lucas you can quite clearly see giga has a more slender build to deal with faster prey and rex has a bulky muscular build to help deal with large bulky prey
Recent estudies indícate that the Tyrannosaurus rex was a long-distance runner and was also quite agile despite being very robust and massive animal(9-10 tons powerhouse)
Indeed! Just looking at those massive jaws and comparing it to reconstructions of the Giganotosaurus years ago, it was obvious that length alone wasn't everything. But I guess the public gets fired up with length differences, and so everything else takes on a superlative aura - real or fictional - and then next thing you know, Giganotosaurus is the biggest and baddest.
@@DinosDragons T. rex and giga approximately same length but the tyrannosaurus was an absolute Unit(Powerhouse Tank) and more sophisticated animal with much stronger bite with the ears of an owl, the eyes of eagle or sharper, the smell of a vulture and the brain of a primate. That’s INSANE.

However, I have no doubt that in terms of popularity and profit potential, the T Rex is just begging to be remade! They might be biding their time to really perfect it... I have a sneaking suspicion if PNSO ever decides to do lips again, the T Rex would be a prime candidate! 😁
Love the earthy brown coloration. I have the Eofauna model, but this one has the gnarly crest detail.
Thank you for your kind words! My Meraxes review just dropped! 😁
Mine is on the way and he’s gonna look awesome with the Acro and Carcharo 😊
Make sure you use the stands, AND don't put them too close the edge of the shelf! Put them in a little. These are so beautifully and subtly done you don't want to risk scuff marks! 😫
@@DinosDragons all my PNSO therapods are using a stand except the Tarbo and Carno they stand like champs 👍🏽
was kinda iffy on this but your study of the skull has sold me!!
Haha, for some reason, I get this tingly sixth sense that we'll get a plesiosauroid from PNSO this year! I hope I'm right! 😁
@@DinosDragons me too that would be great!
Hey man, I came back to your channel and saw this video! Still love your channel just like before, keep grinding, keep doing your good work 👏🏻
Thank you for stopping by!
Same. I love it! PNSO already has a Mila the Mapusaurus character so I see maybe Mila is coming!
Isnt paul the allosaurus just from a year ago, its still quite up to date
The allosaurus doesnt need an update. The rex and carnotaurus however, do need one
Really hoping for a carnotaurus remake🤞🏻
@@DinosDragons Indeed, a truly horrific problem dinosaur fans must all face.
haha americans should jusst use the metric system like every1 else, xD@@DinosDragons
Great review!! 👍🏻👍🏻
Personally I hope they won’t make another Tyrannosaurus and Spinosaurus with the Eofauna and the Mesozoic Life versions on the horizon, respectively.
Good luck! 😁
My Amazon order is en route.
Congratulations! You will really like it I suspect. Plenty of subtlety in that paint application!
I find that pnso's giganotosaurus 2023 has a smoother texture and much more accurate
I can't speak to accuracy, but you are certainly correct in your observation. I forgot to make the point that there is a slighly level up from the Giganoto compared to the Meraxes. Perhaps the Museum Line pieces get the best possible paint and sculpts.
Deep down we all love a good scientifically accurate Carcharodontosaurid model
Hahahahaha! Not _too_ deep I'm sure! 🤣
Even deeper down, there is no such thing as accurate dinosaurs let alone dinosaur figures lol. PNSO making a killing off folks new to how paleontology actually works.
크아 조형이 너무 아름답다! 도색이 아쉽지만 그래도 무조건 살거다~
It _is_ beautiful in the sculpt. What don't you like about the paint?
@@DinosDragons It's like a tangerine color.
(I mean not like previous PNSO paintings)
I think I am going to have 1/35 scale one since I have not won a lottery yet... Lol
Ну наконецто, я знал что то "недорозумение" переделают
Sorry my friend, my online translator isn't returning a translation that makes sense. So I can't respond 😔
The Giganosaurus looks awesome. How much does it cost to buy one of these?
¥320 for me. I don't know how much it would be for you. Sorry!
Mine struggles to stand on its own, any tips on how or if I can fix this??
There is that hot water idea where you soften it in hot water, then hold it in the position you want.It should keep when it cools down. But it is never permanent. Unfortunately PNSO uses a really soft material compared to HLG who use a harder plastic for their legs.
you are so close to 1 million views your at 999 964 thousand
Haha thank you! But I never really notice these things. For the first few years I had about 50-80 subscribers, and didn't actually notice some other numbers until viewers pointed them out to me. Thanks for noticing! 😁
wait it says pnso 2022 on the underside of it, so was it made in 2022 but released in 2023?
Very observant! Yes, the manufacture date is often ahead of when they actually release it. I usually label my videos according to the year it came out.
To be honest this is by far my favorite giganotosaurus figure for now until we find more figures and it’s much better than the other PNS0 giganotosaurus
Very obvious differences! The only thing is the size is smaller, and you lack the base. There is also a vividness that shows in the old one that this, being more subtly painted, doesn't.
I do not know which to buy right now! Please help! This Giganotosaurus or the PNSO T. Rex?
Wow that's a difficult question to answer without knowing more about what you're looking for! A little more info? But I guess the answer is moot now, since with the new Cameron T Rex maybe you have another question to worry about now! 🤣
@@DinosDragons I ended up getting the giga right now, as I already have the safari and papo rexes and I do not own any carcharodontosaurid yet. I’m so excited it arrives today! 😁
♥️♥️♥️.
Haha exactly. Very little words need actually be said with this one!
@@DinosDragons haha. Your every reviews specially with the PNSO figures is like my favorite food. No talking just love and keep on eating it. 😄😄♥️♥️. Great review sir as always. 🥰🥰.
i really like the previous giga, i wish that one was more accurate haha
More accurate in what sense?
Adatto all' Argentinosaurus e al Mapusaurus ,venuti in seguito.
Hahahah the Huincul formation had some monsters!!
lol At this point, either PNSO got great deal to buy brown, beige, & black, paint in bulk quanities, or they convinced all dinosaurs came from the same 2 parents ; )
🤣Haha, many on the Chinese forums complain about this as well! To their credit, although they do use earth tones plus stripes, they have managed to make each sufficiently different so you don't get facsimiles. But I do hope for more creative use of patterning, as they did with their Acrocanthosaurus!
: )@@DinosDragons
Yet another great remake from pnso, the only failure is the repetitive colour scheme. It made me realize how outdated and cartoony the previous version was, along with the eofauna's head
Ps: it's funny how its iconic chin reminds me the gigahad meme
I had to look up what the Gigachad meme was... and now that I've seen it, I can't unsee the similarity! 😂 If I'd known, it was have been a must-have comedic element to this video! 🤣
Kinda sad the museum line now truly embracing their price ups, no bonuses at all to be seen just randomly higher price for 20 poster noone uses. Otherwise an awesome figure sadly imma get it as my eofauna doesnt fit my other dinos quite.
It's sad indeed, with the shipping, middleman charges, and for places like the EU, the ridiculously high VAT 😪😪
How come the poster puts feathers on Giganotosaurus There’s no evidence of gigonotosaurs having feathers at all or in this case filaments
It's really all to do with how wide you want to stretch phylogenetic bracketing, and then extrapolate from that. PNSO has in fact included feathers in their included artwork, although the actual model itself won't have it.
You should compare this to the nanmu one
I don't have it. In fact I only bought about 4 JP/JW statues. I prefer anatomically accurate representations.
@@DinosDragons the Nanmu one is pretty good I got both colours of them and they are great biggish
My name is lucas and my favorite dinosaur is Giganotosaurus, coincidence
It was Fated to be! This one has your name all over it! 😀
The head looks really huge and oversized on this. Doesn't seem to match skeletal reconstructions. Is this a blunder or is there evidence for its head to be that big?
This is what if the giga was made by Stan Winston in JP era.
I'm not sure what he would have done, but anything animatronic done by Stan to his usual standards are worth a long hard look, that's for sure!
In my opinion Eofauna Giganotosaurus has a better tail than PNSO. It has more volume.
PNSO always did have rather thin tails for their theropods, something that has been remarked on from time to time 🤔
PNSO Giganotosaurus is currently the best on the market.
Pnso has good painting but i am tired of usual colours...all brown and flat colour scheme..
i want😢
Just try to get one from an early run... the earlier the better! Though I hope that for a Museum Line, the quality of paint application wouldn't have deterioriated noticeably yet.
Really wish they would sculpt some more dynamic poses. These all look so similar that it's kind of boring.
The T. rex had the ability to kill any herbivore.
That’s INSANE.
the giganotosaurus skull head 1.63 meters and larger than the 13.7 meters, t rex 12.3 meter meat 1.45 meat smaller than smaller is the biggest gigabytes that new

It's actually easier once you break it down. What I really find hard right now are Huehuecanauhtlus and Futalognkosaurus 🤣

@@rodrigoestebanquierofiguer9658 I have no clue what you are talking about but if I am deciphering the gist of your message correctly, you misunderstood my intention. I thought you meant that Giganotosaurus was a big word to pronounce. I replied that I found it harder to pronounce Huehuecanauhtlus and Futalognkosaurus. I see now you meant size.
Firstly, if you have a source to quote for your size estimate, I will look it up and check its credibility, and then put it in the description box above.
Secondly, you seem to misunderstand that my claim for Tyrannosaurus is based on some kind of national pride and wanting the biggest to be North American. If you have watched my other videos, you will know that my favourite dinosaurs are the sauropods, and especially the titanosaurs, and my favourites are Argentinosaurus and Patagotitan, both of which are proudly South American.
I focus on fact and sharing what science I know here without bias or any kind of vested interest. I'm not in the least interested in making this channel a place where non-related, invectives are tossed about, including whether the biggest and baddest are North American, South American, Central, East or West American. Nature doesn't care about such distinctions. Perhaps if we didn't, there would be more peace and less strife in the world.
And by the way, I live in Asia.
