I understand your point, but you have to admit regional demographics overwhelmingly dictate what your religion will be. A good book that debunks these contemporary false dichotomies is "Reinventing Jesus: How Contemporary Skeptics Miss the Real Jesus and Mislead Popular Culture' by Ed Komoszewski and others. I studied this book for my Biblical and Theology degree and it debunks the Jesus Seminar, DaVinci Code, and how contemporary skeptics steal Christian terms to create false parallels between Christ and religions prior to Christ. The 13-point parallel theory is so misrepresented it is scary. There are absolutely no grounding for these parallels. Jesus is LORD. GOD BLESS YOU CLIFF!

Just want to share. I've accepted Jesus Christ abouts week ago. Haven't watched porn. Haven't materbated. Haven't smoked weed, actually threw it all in the trash including all the paraphernalia. I've forgiven my parents for the abuse. I've started a relationship with my family again after years of cutting them off. It has always been the time when that which is real is observable. This god you've mentioned is not observable andvtherefore, not real. All realities are observable at the particular point in space at the particular point in time in which it occurs.
To argue that our beliefs as Christians was because we are raised in a Christian home is just weak. As if ethnicity or upbringing explains the origin of our beliefs. Which it doesn't. It's like saying to the guy that his atheistic beliefs originated from a non Christian home/school/neighborhood, and it doesn't prove or disprove anything at all. Christianity is not true because I believe in it. It is true even without me believing it. Tho I wouldn't say it is true if I'm not a Christian. I would say, at the end, there are plenty of 3rd party sources that verify the fact that Christ had risen and walked with his followers after his death.

People have taken a step back from Christianity to look at the bigger picture or to try and make sense of the world, .. I'm sure you've heard that expression, "You can't see the wood for the trees" .. meaning that someone is so engrossed in what they believe to be true, they surround themselves with like minded people, that they fail to see a much broader picture. So when it comes to something like belief in a particular belief in God, they exclude everything else and concentrate on that belief. How does one determine the truth Bruce? But if something is true, it should stand up to rigorous questioning, would you agree with that? eg: as an example, I watched that Jan 6th insurrection on the US capitol recently, it seemed patently clear that Trump fired up his base to not accept the result of a perfectly legitimate election, they've not found any credible evidence of mass fraud in the way that Trump was claiming. All of his claims were thrown out in court. So it was massively crucial to him that he won that election. I think to most rational people can see why he did what he did, and was even prepared to use force to get his way. It has always involved two resurrections, Osiris comes back from the dead, Horus comes back from the dead. No one is suggesting that the Bible is a copy and paste. I know this is an old video. But this whole ancient pagan religions zeitgeist rubbish has been debunked. Its really sad that some people use this argument.
It hasn't been debunked. Specific details have been debunked, but the fact remains that religions and mythology (the same thing as far as I'm concerned) which are older than Christianity contain many parallels in their stories with the stories in the Bible.

If you haven't experienced the supernatural power of God in your life you may have doubts about Christianity. Creation if viewed form the correct perspective one would realize that creation was a supernatural event brought about by a supernatural Creator. The evidence for Jesus exists the disciples live by the faith they had working miracles and preaching the gospel it's the only reason Christianity flourished in the 1st century inspite of all the oppression that Christians faced. Every prediction in the bible has been fulfilled and is still being fulfilled today if that is not evidence enough for believing in the Christian faith then what else is there. Many of us have been spoilt by man's vain philosophies and blinded by our own short sightedness. The Love of God is real when we allow it into our lives it's transforming that all that matters. However, having listened to Cliffe for many years, his point would likely have been that the overwhelming historical evidence is that Jesus did physically / bodily rise from the dead, but there is no way to show, historically, that Muhammed spiritually rose to Heaven. In fact, the resurrection of Jesus is one of the most attested events from ancient history. Even non-Christian scholars agree on this. There is just too much historical evidence to have much doubt.
Being raised in a Christian home I tried out different religions because I myself was a lost soul. Later on my life I can back to God and Jesus Christ as my lord and savior. I would have loved to been at this college when I was younger. Most of the kids who are raised Christian end up leaving the faith at least it was true with my generation. I was also tired of all the hypocrisy and hate that went between different denominations I am non denominational Christian which mean I don't claim any denomination. And the green guys saying Horus was the sun god of the Egyptians made me laugh. He need to really look at the religious myths Horus was the son of Osiris and Isis and the pharoh was believed to be the descendant of Horus. Was really interested in Egypt when I was younger. Ra which is seen as a creator god to God of the sun which was believed to die every dusk and be born the next morning with the dawn. O.o I think I went to deep on this one lol. But any way the one guy at the end asked what proof was there of Jesus resurrection 500 people saw Jesus after his crucifixion and 3day death ressurection and all except 1 within 40 days on 12 different occurances. I highly doubt 500 people lying like that.

And you comment with how do we know if George Washington was the first president how do we know that Abraham Lincoln was assassinated that is straying from what he is saying. God‘s disciples are the first ones to read the Bible and since then many people have rewritten it yes you can go by your faith and believe that every word in the Bible is true. I am a believer in God I have read multiple books in the Bible I have written the entire book of John as a punishment when I was younger even though I rewrote because it was so much to write how do we know that there’s not missing pieces? What do we not know? Has there or is there things that we needed that are gone forever in time? This is not me debating with either of you debating is a waste of time. God has a vision for every person on this planet and each person will follow their path exactly the way that he wants them to. Here’s a fact of the many religions in the world. They all have an aspect of self sacrifice but the difference of Christianity is the justification of one’s soul trough Jesus dying on the cross. Jesus resurrects therefore God forgiving all your sins. I’m betting if The Buddha knew Jesus, Buddha would not practice asceticism towards being almost dead at some point. When we think of The Buddha, we think of a fat guy but we are dead wrong. The guy fasted and fasted to get that bliss or enlightenment trough self sacrificing; not desiring the things of this world. With Jesus, one can earn salvation trough asceticism or self sacrifice but not necessarily towards the method of rejecting all of the desires. Even some Buddhist doctrines believe in some hell for not being enlightened or becoming an apostate. It’s easier with Jesus.

I studied this book for my Biblical and Theology degree and it debunks the Jesus Seminar, DaVinci Code, and how contemporary skeptics steal Christian terms to create false parallels between Christ and religions prior to Christ. I've forgiven my parents for the abuse. I've started a relationship with my family again after years of cutting them off. To argue that our beliefs as Christians was because we are raised in a Christian home is just weak. As if ethnicity or upbringing explains the origin of our beliefs. Which it doesn't. It's like saying to the guy that his atheistic beliefs originated from a non Christian home/school/neighborhood, and it doesn't prove or disprove anything at all. Christianity is not true because I believe in it. It is true even without me believing it. Tho I wouldn't say it is true if I'm not a Christian. It's an independent variable that you can't tie with people's ethnicity or tendencies.

People have taken a step back from Christianity to look at the bigger picture or to try and make sense of the world, .. Every prediction in the bible has been fulfilled and is still being fulfilled today if that is not evidence enough for believing in the Christian faith then what else is there. Many of us have been spoilt by man's vain philosophies and blinded by our own short sightedness. The Love of God is real when we allow it into our lives it's transforming that all that matters. Obedience is better that sacrifice. I am the way the truth and the life.

Yeah. Too bad the video ended there. However, having listened to Cliffe for many years, his point would likely have been that the overwhelming historical evidence is that Jesus did physically / bodily rise from the dead, but there is no way to show, historically, that Muhammed spiritually rose to Heaven. In fact, the resurrection of Jesus is one of the most attested events from ancient history. Even non-Christian scholars agree on this. There is just too much historical evidence to have much doubt.

Being raised in a Christian home I tried out different religions because I myself was a lost soul. Later on my life I can back to God and Jesus Christ as my lord and savior. I would have loved to been at this college when I was younger. Most of the kids who are raised Christian end up leaving the faith at least it was true with my generation. I was also tired of all the hypocrisy and hate that went between different denominations I am non denominational Christian which mean I don't claim any denomination. And the green guys saying Horus was the sun god of the Egyptians made me laugh. He need to really look at the religious myths Horus was the son of Osiris and Isis and the pharoh was believed to be the descendant of Horus. Was really interested in Egypt when I was younger. Ra which is seen as a creator god to God of the sun which was believed to die every dusk and be born the next morning with the dawn. O.o I think I went to deep on this one lol. But any way the one guy at the end asked what proof was there of Jesus resurrection 500 people saw Jesus after his crucifixion and 3day death ressurection and all except 1 within 40 days on 12 different occurances. I highly doubt 500 people lying like that.
I highly doubt that the 500 people are real. Even if they were real then you still cannot trust their statements due to hearsay and bias.

So when he makes the comment “ how do we know if our scripture is 100% real hundreds of people have rewritten the Bible” and you ask what is his point? And you comment with how do we know if George Washington was the first president how do we know that Abraham Lincoln was assassinated that is straying from what he is saying. God‘s disciples are the first ones to read the Bible and since then many people have rewritten it yes you can go by your faith and believe that every word in the Bible is true. I am a believer in God I have read multiple books in the Bible I have written the entire book of John as a punishment when I was younger even though I rewrote because it was so much to write how do we know that there’s not missing pieces? What do we not know? Has there or is there things that we needed that are gone forever in time? This is not me debating with either of you debating is a waste of time. God has a vision for every person on this planet and each person will follow their path exactly the way that he wants them to. I don’t doubt God I don’t doubt the people who have written his story but I really do question is there things that are in the Bible that we should know??

Here’s a fact of the many religions in the world. They all have an aspect of self sacrifice but the difference of Christianity is the justification of one’s soul trough Jesus dying on the cross. Jesus resurrects therefore God forgiving all your sins. I’m betting if The Buddha knew Jesus, Buddha would not practice asceticism towards being almost dead at some point. When we think of The Buddha, we think of a fat guy but we are dead wrong. The guy fasted and fasted to get that bliss or enlightenment trough self sacrificing; not desiring the things of this world. With Jesus, one can earn salvation trough asceticism or self sacrifice but not necessarily towards the method of rejecting all of the desires. Even some Buddhist doctrines believe in some hell for not being enlightened or becoming an apostate. It’s easier with Jesus.
