Hey I just wanted to say I really enjoy your two videos on your outboards keep up the great work!

Im just curious, did you mount all the 20 HP parts on a 25 HP Bracket, or did you put a 25 HP Decal there for another reason? The Mariner runs great tough. 🖖

I just got that motor-with a spark issue fixed it and did nothing else

Is that outboard sitting higher on that transom bracket? If it's already a short shaft, and assuming your inflatable boat has a standard transom (meant for a short shaft OB), how can you get away with raising the outboard (without causing cavitation/aeration)? And how do you know how much you can raise it by?
I'm having cavitation/aeration issues on my boat (11ft air deck) w/ 20 k p suzuki short shaft OB.. wondering if its a prop issue, or if I need to raise/lower OB.. ??
    Thx in advance!!

It’s raised about 3 inches above the transom, but it has a 5 in set back that’s where the trick is, probably your prop is too small or the hub has spun out of te prop ?

@@johns.6570 thanks for your quick response! So 5" back (away) from the transom huh..?? Why is that the ticket, what does that accomplish?
Also, how can I tell if hub has spun out of the prop..? I'm already planning on ordering a new (bigger pitch) prop.. thanks!!

5” set back prop operates in a area that has no turbulence, more bite , put your motor in gear and try to spin your prop by hand if the prop hub is spun it will rotate while your motor is in gear, a 20hp on a 11ft air deck should be a rocket, we had a 9.9:Suzuki on a 9.6 foot air deck and it was stupid fast, so I expect the prop hub is spun.

@@johns.6570 couple more questions and then I'm done, promise 😅...
What and where would such a transom bracket be found (and what names are they known by), I suspect transom bracket describes it somewhat but not the actual name for it.. or is it? Another thing of concern, my transom is rated for only a 15hp, but as you know 9.9, 15, and 20's share same block and inners, so weight wise I'm ok; however the further back I put it, won't that increase the force applied by the weight and torque, since I'm increasing the distance from the "fulcrum" for lack of a better term..?? Thanks a bunch for your invaluable information!!! 👍🙏🙏🙏

It’s the motor raising the engine gives you more bite a bit more speed, you shouldn’t have it cavitate at all, check your trim settings should be second hole up from the bottom,if your angle is too high I expect yu can see this issue as well.Yes the angle is different from the vertical height.

Hey what happened to your new videos? You had one with a mercury 20 four stroke and it’s gone

You can trim the engine a bit higher for more speed
