Thats because its playback.. at 2:00 you see the drummer playing the Hihat, but you hear a Cymbal. The Guitar sounds too good to be true as well. But the vocals may be live though.
This song is fine example of a perfect rock & roll song: a great riff, punchy lyrics, rough straight-to-the-point rhythm, room for cool guitar solos. I mean, you got everything.
He was huge in the 90's-2007. Now he is more icon status. As for Hendrix, he was here such a short time. Powerful and prolific yet short. Somebody with Lenny's talent had to keep his spirit alive.
The drummer is absolutely amazing!!! Talk about making the most off of one riff!!!! Genius. Is this lenny 20 years ago or yesterday? The guy doesn’t age at all.
so much to like about this version. Damn, that was good. That bass playing was just sick. Guitar solo...sick. Cindy's drumming...tight, in the pocket, not rushed at all. Mix....amazing...love how they had his vocal mic juuusst a bit too hot. The reverb either in the room or added in was fantastic.
Whenever the conversation of rock n roll bands that dont get the credit they deserve comes up, I tell people to watch this video, or their live at Hyde park performance. His lead guitarist, Craig Ross, is a beast!
Nazz Nomad - It is beyond you, because you have to realize a lot of legal stuff comes into play. Like every artist their management or publisher would need to be on board and deals would need to be made with each and every one of them. - They (Stern's company) could probably pull it off, but I don't think they want to bother with the hassle to get out this what would probably be a rather niche product. They're clearly opting to just let these videos out here. Sounds fine and you get to see it. - And believe it or not, even THIS could be an issue. I once saw a video of The Cranberries lice at SNL get released on their own channel, then a short while later it was gone... Probably the company that has the rights to the song didn't agree or whatever. That said, a compilation would be cool. I also still like records. I'd say a video compilation too, but again, it's right here.
Yeah this shit was on point for sure! What a great song. Reminds me of the beginning of my social years as a teenager. Those were great years and the soundtrack couldn’t have been better.🙂❤️🙏
Incredible ! Lenny is one of the top 5 rockers of ALL time !! He looks like really enjoys performing no matter what venue it is and he is the coolest of the cool !! And his band is tremendous !!
I play this video to get the true sound of the song. Such great raw sound, nice and clear. One of the best live performances I've ever heard or seen. Thank you Howard
First time I heard this on the radio my brother and I were driving back from a friends house after partying all night long, he was following me in his 86' black Astro van and were driving the flat country roads of NW Ohio drunk and high off our asses at 2 am. We had just closed a small furniture store we had opened with a loan from our parents. During Desert Storm our business died and the business was too young to handle it. Anyway, this came on and I jumped out of my truck at a stop sign and told my brother to tune it in. He passed in 2014 but to this day I still see the picture of that moment 27 years ago. Also, Lenny Kravitz and his family are amazing people, all about the love.
Powiem jedno prze super utwór i wokalista.Super prezętóje się na sceńe .Benedykt Wojtkowiak.
My favorite song and Live performance from Lenny so far, aside from his David Letterman performance. Howard should have played Air Guitar next to his Twin; Craig Ross. :)
I feel like Lenny's a forgotten and underappreciated figure in music. The dude's a legend in my book
Lenny Kravitz made the list of VH1's 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock.
The audio engineer who setup the equipment and mixed this did an amazing job. I had no idea Lenny Kravitz sounded this good live.
He won the grammy for "Best Male Rock Vocal Performance" four years in a row since 1999 to 2002
I think it was Scott the engineer LoL
The engineer on Stern has always been top notch. Not unexpected for a perfectionist like Stern.
Why he only been Rocking since the early 90's ..stop listening to Lady ga ga Bieber ...
Thats because its playback.. at 2:00 you see the drummer playing the Hihat, but you hear a Cymbal. The Guitar sounds too good to be true as well. But the vocals may be live though.
The drummer is absolutely amazing!!!
Wesley F Barboza yes!
Cindy Santana-Blackman....FIERCE!!!!
Cindy Blackman Santana. She can play it all from rock to jazz. Uber good.

Special guest a young Howard Stern jamming on guitar 🎸

Hahahahaha my thoughts exactly lol
Lol....but it's actually Craig Ross
I notice that too!
Lil Howie

As great as Lenny is, I always thought he was still somehow underrated. Such a great musician and songwriter.
Chris Rogers because Jimmy Hendrix already did it
@@JerdGuillaumeSam "Jimi"
@@JerdGuillaumeSam True, he was a Jimi Hendrix tribute band essentially, but they did decent cosplay.
He was huge in the 90's-2007. Now he is more icon status. As for Hendrix, he was here such a short time. Powerful and prolific yet short. Somebody with Lenny's talent had to keep his spirit alive.
Best version of this I've ever heard. I mean it sounds pretty much just like that album version but there's a lot more punch to it
Lenny Kravitz is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO underrated. All of his albums are fucking KILLER!
That drummer is smashing it! Lenny sounds incredible
Cindy Blackman-Santana kicking ass back there!!!!!
Love Cindy Blackman lighting up them drums!
From ohio......
Cindy Blackman-Santana
The audio engineer(s) on the Stern show are top notch.
Now that is a perfect live sound
What a beautiful noise. Mr Craig Ross is one of the most criminally underrated and soft spoken guitarists of all time!!!
Craig Ross doesnt get nearly as much credit as he deserves. One of rock's top notch guitarists.
One of the all time best riffs in rock history....what an amazing band!
Mitch Hedberg is killing on bass!
Beautiful voice, and it carries over to live performance. That's real talent.
The drummer is absolutely amazing!!!
Talk about making the most off of one riff!!!! Genius.

That drummer.....So Damm AWESOME!!!!

Why these performances aren’t compiled and put out on CD/vinyl is beyond me.

Amazing performance. I can't believe how good they sound here.
Damn, they aren't fucking around. What a kickass, tight performance! This band is lock-step with each other.
Yeah this shit was on point for sure! What a great song. Reminds me of the beginning of my social years as a teenager. Those were great years and the soundtrack couldn’t have been better.🙂❤️🙏

at 1:57 she starts the song back up and you can hear the crash symbol being hit....but she's on the high hat.
Lenny is a awesome artist..he is coming to Tbilisi Georgia in summer 2020..so looking forward to it.You rock man.
One of the best performances on the Stern show. Great sound, even better then the original video. He is just great.
A true genuine Rock n roll song, with an insanely awesome riff.......U dont hear that on mainstream radio anymore.......they ripped it hard!!!
Unreal, sound is so crisp
Thats what a band thats been together for a long time sounds like! Effin Great!
A Craig Ross riff , very tight performance, PERFECT rock song with a riff to die for , icing on the cake? bass solo ALONG with the guitar solo
One of the best singers and live performers I’ve ever seen in concert! He opened for the Cult back in 92 and blew them off the stage in Winnipeg.
Lenny is such a cool bad ass and his band is ALWAYS tight
Absolutley sick performance! For all you guitarist.... you noticd he is playin a LINE 6 amp?!
It was 2001. We didnt know any better.

That's some really great stuff.
His mother did some really great stuff. Look it up.
They sound amazing alive!
I saw him live in 95 or so, still the best live show I have ever seen.
I think this is pre-record, in minute 1:58 the drummer play the Hi-hat but sound the ride
