Your cabin is certainly looking more like home now .The Tartan chairs are a nice warm red and a perfect idea for a cabin.The table is really nice too and gives you a desk ,or somewhere to just sit,eat or have a cup of coffee or whatever it is you drink.The place you took us too is beautiful and so peaceful too..Cali is so brave going in that very cold water,but I think all our fur friends love adventure,no matter the weather.I have the same problem sharing my bed,some nights I get it to myself but not often.I am just glad she’s a Yorktown and not as big as Cali.But like you I don’t know what I would do without my best pal ..Love n Light to you both 🥰

Despite having to make the move from his previous homestead, there were things learned from the first build that Shawn was able to use to make changes and improvements to the design of his new homestead.

You've come a long way, Shawn, and I like to think that I "watched" you quietly and humbly mature into an off grid pioneer the likes of which are rare in this day and age. The 1st video I found of your adventures was around the time when you were in the process of hauling those cedar logs from your backyard up to your 1st cabin site. You had me hooked from that video on to most of the other recordings of your adventures and strength which I have always admired. As you well know, "strength" is more than being strong. It also is part of dedication to a cause, focus on starting a project and planning out how one will finish the project without maiming himself or worse. It also requires an inner strength to stick with things no matter if you are sick, having an "off" day or whatever excuse presents itself to you to do something else. Your dedication to your goals and your family and being able to balance both in such a manner that you have exhibited is significant in that you have reached so many milestones in your goal to break the "chains" of modern society and go back to being a part of nature itself. I applaud your "strength" and I am proud to have been able to watch as you conquered so many trials and tribulations in this process to come out, as each step of your journey fell into place, with even more enthusiasm about what lay ahead of you and your family for the future.

I built a table to mount my table saw on so I can reach it in my wheelchair.

I had to do something by myself this week & it was hard doing it alone. If I asked for help, it would taken soo many weeks to finish waiting on my help to get off work. As a nurse I knew it was doable for me it just would be HARD & I would be doing it alone. I then thought of you & lifting those big heavey logs positioning & using good body mechanics & leverage & going slowly. I did it!! When I came to the hardest part I said out loud, "Self- Reliance" & your name over & over. Lol it made me rest & smile & laugh as I sweat bullets. Thankyou for inspiring all of us. ❤️ 💙 I know your wife is probably getting so excited 😊 at how much woman-wife friendly this home is over the other one. ❤️ 💙 💜 Cannot wait for next winter, when all the family is there for adventures in the snow!! You've come a long way, Shawn, and I like to think that I "watched" you quietly and humbly mature into an off grid pioneer the likes of which are rare in this day and age. The 1st video I found of your adventures was around the time when you were in the process of hauling those cedar logs from your backyard up to your 1st cabin site. You had me hooked from that video on to most of the other recordings of your adventures and strength which I have always admired.
As you well know, "strength" is more than being strong. It also is part of dedication to a cause, focus on starting a project and planning out how one will finish the project without maiming himself or worse. It also requires an inner strength to stick with things no matter if you are sick, having an "off" day or whatever excuse presents itself to you to do something else. Your dedication to your goals and your family and being able to balance both in such a manner that you have exhibited is significant in that you have reached so many milestones in your goal to break the "chains" of modern society and go back to being a part of nature itself. I applaud your "strength" and I am proud to have been able to watch as you conquered so many trials and tribulations in this process to come out, as each step of your journey fell into place, with even more enthusiasm about what lay ahead of you and your family for the future.
You are a true man in your trade in carpentries it amazes a lot of me n your viewers to watch all these awesome greatness you is able to with being smarter n not working harder because all the knowledge n strength you have within to able to do such with your hands heart n soul

I love the intro also, and it's really well made! I hope he never changes it as it reminds us all, where he came from, what his dreams were and how he came to this point. It also tells the story (in just a few moments!) to the new viewers and subscribers about a man who made his dreams come true, without having to explain it over and over again.

I built a table to mount my table saw on so I can reach it in my wheelchair.

I had to do something by myself this week & it was hard doing it alone. If I asked for help, it would taken soo many weeks to finish waiting on my help to get off work.
As a nurse I knew it was doable for me it just would be HARD & I would be doing it alone. I then thought of you & lifting those big heavey logs positioning & using good body mechanics & leverage & going slowly. I did it!! When I came to the hardest part I said out loud, "Self- Reliance" & your name over & over. Lol it made me rest & smile & laugh as I sweat bullets.
Thankyou for inspiring all of us. ❤️ 💙 I know your wife is probably getting so excited 😊 at how much woman-wife friendly this home is over the other one. ❤️ 💙 💜
