@I'm Your President It was always decent. It was just nowhere near as good as the first two masterpieces.
I've always been a fan of T3! Nothing will ever be as good as T2, but that doesn't mean we, the fans that love the Terminator movies can't enjoy the movies that came after. The best continuation in my personal opinion is The Sarah Connor Chronicles, as far as the movies go though, my canonical timeline is T1, T2, T3 and T4. Genisys was fun, but that's a totally alternate timeline and if the new one didn't kill JC in the first 5 minutes and push a tomboyish female as the protector just to please these "me too" mufuckaz, Dark Fate could've been something good, but as it is now, I'm pretending that movie didn't happen.
The best looking T800 yet. For sure they look better than the one they showed in Salvation. I am not sure this was all CG, at least the one close to the camera was a model. The thing I love in this scene is that the terminators move fluidly, it all happens naturally. And the eyes. Look at the terminator in the close-up, before turning its head, he moves its eyes, like a real person scanning the environment, the focuses its attention right in front and moves the jaw. All these tiny details in the movements are amazing!
1:18 Neat little detail: The T-850's optics remain with a red glow until it faces the camera, no doubt staring into the audience's eyes. Only then, it seems to darken as it's pupils dilate. It's minor, but it shows a sort of hatred for the humans, a hunger to kill them by any means. It's pretty neat. :0
Salvation is not crap. It is a sequel to T3 and it showed a very early point of the war starting from T3's end. It was an early point so no purple lasers and massive futuristic techs were built yet. But Salvation was going towards that. It was supposed to have 2 more sequels. But sadly its studio went bankrupt and they had to sell the terminator rights. Salvation sequels would surely show us those advanced futuristic battles. You should be sad that Salvation is being ignored. Salvation was perfect. I TOTALLY love that film💖💖💖💖💖💖.
I rented this movie from Hollywood Video when i was a kid. This whole scene terrified me, but 1:18 made me start crying. My parants took it out and brought it back immediately. Lol.
Tell whatever you like but I think this movie is very underrated and underappreciated. Of course it has its flaws but it blends in perfectly with the lore. Especially this scene and T-X.
I love how terrifying they made the future war look, you could just be hiding in a destroyed town then 10 seconds later theres T800s slowly walking forward as they terminate everything in there path.
This scene and the opening to the first 2 movies makes me question how exactly Skynet lost the war. Not only are each unit equipped with thousands of combat tactics straight out of the mass produced assembly line. But the resistance has to wait 9 months for a human to be born and then wait another 17 or so years to have new soldiers on the field. Also since the entire world is nuked then where do humans get their food from, let alone oxygen.
Skynet, despite having all the advantages of being an AI, was constantly fighting an up hill battle against humanity. Even after the nukes, there were billions of humans left and skynet had very little to almost no manufacturing capability. At best it had one single assembly line after judgement day and even then it was only really an experimental facility. It probably took decades for skynet to produce a noticeable force. Meanwhile the total collapse of infrastructure and the world economy would cause mass desperation among the surviving humans. Battles would be fought from rabid, starving bandits to large ex-military warbands roaming around looking for food. Pretty much nobody knew about the machines or skynet after JD. It was a "secret" project, and skynet cut most communications before launching the nukes, so nobody would be aware that there were a shadowy force of machines out there. Except for this one guy who claims to know the future and that there's an army of machines being made to destroy humanity(what a nutter). The only way for skynet to rapidly expand before humanity recovers is to capture surviving humans and use them as a workforce. Which in T1 it has as Reece was bar-coded and worked in a labour camp. Also this explains the super cool termibikes in Salvation; using a pre-existing factory to produce weapons with little modification required by the labour force. Most previously civilised places would start getting back on track after a few years. Tales would be told of mysterious metal men taking people in the night and entire camps going missing. Eventually what were once myths spouted by crazy people would become true when the machines begin making moves against the new military powers of humanity, and of course against a now vindicated John Connor. This backfires, because John is now seen as a prophet and a saviour which makes it easier for him to rally people to the cause. So now skynet has a riled up, united humanity to face while it tries to desperately scrounge up slave labour and resources to pump out as many machines as it can, and it has to spend time and resources guarding it's slaves, rebuilding the infrastructure it destroyed and constructing new factories. Skynet is on the back foot from the outset. I'd love a series to explore the world after JD, but tje franchise is dead so we'll never see it. Shame because there's so many places to take it.
@@cleanerben9636 best comment. People complain alot about salvation not being the future war they wanted when salvation took place in 2018, not the late 2020s where james camerons future war was seen. Big technological difference especially for machines that dont need to eat sleep or rest.

I've always liked T3. I don't get why people feel threatened just because SOME fans actually like this movie, especially when the overwhelming consensus is that the first 2 are the best. It's got generally good performances, that great multi-vehicle chase scene early in the movie, some good dialogue exchanges, and Kristanna Loken actually makes for an intimidating villain. Then there's the great ending.
How would it be if we saw something like this in the DCEU with Cyborg fights against Grid, Kilgore and Gizmo even though he's not gonna get his own movie?
My favorite Terminator movies were the first two. But, I'm sorry to say this, I loved the special effects of the future scenes in this movie than the previous ones. Last movies looked like stop motion or toys.
That's honestly not a bad thing, if there's one thing I can respect dark fate for its retconning the hell out of this movie and trying to continue the theme of 'we can change our fates', but then the movie fucked up and just repeated the same plot of the previous films but with worse writing
@@Stephen64138 like I said one thing I like about dark fate is that Skynet was completely erased, in the movie they say "yea skynet sent back terminators but that future doesn't exist cause we said screw JD" it was something they should've done so long ago, but they still messed it up with legion. Just. Let. Judgment. Day. Be. Erased.
None of that matters to James Cameron and Tim Miller, but I don't give a fuck. To me the real canonical timeline is T1, T2, T3 and T4, fuck what the rest say!
T3 had a lot of elements in place to be another legendary movie for the franchise. Unfortunately, there were too much things that took it down a route that those movies that came after also followed: it parodized itself, became campy, and quite frankly, didn't take itself serious enough. T3 introduced (too much) humor to the franchise, and it is one that never should have had, atleast not in the way it was executed. As for the 'arrival' scene for example, first of all, i think that entire scene wasn't neccesary. we knew what happens, just let him arrive and look around, cut scene. See Arnie spot whatever building, and leave things for the imagination. Then follow the 'side stories' and cut back to schwarzenegger walking out of same building and driving off in the pickup truck. The 'girls night out' was very unneccesary and very campy and parodizing. The YMCA stripper was even worse. Immediately dragged the movie down way too much. Then there was offcourse the other obvious problem which was casting. Kristanna Loken was fine imho, she fit the role on an attractive yet menacing presance. There were some moments where she showed too much emotion, like the john connor blood sample moment and the panic moment at the end. I think the (forgettable) actor portraying John Conner simple had no charisma. He was indeed too much of a lost, lonely, thief, with too much of a 'conspiracist' tinfoil edge to him. First of all they should have had a more mature character, and a bit more robust character. One that was training daily for war out of a sense of paranoia, inherited from his mother like a curse. The story was fine, but lacked execution. Kate Brewster for example was 'meh' as a character but still, believable, but she too felt too soft and just not rightly cast. Both had potential but somewhere just very much lacked and were just not that believable. These flaws really influenced the movie as they're too pivotal. Hell, Nick Stahl i think would have been a great Kyle Reese to be honest. Then there were some minor things that didn't do it much good. The hunter-killer for example was way too small. They should have had the hunter killer in a huge size if they wanted to incorporate it, not this thing that somehow fits and flies in a corridor. There were some absolutely fantastic elements. The post-apocalyptic scenes were fantastic. The motorcycle scene was good. The crane scene was fantastic. the postponing judgement day issue was fantastic. the graveyard scene was good enough. it would never have topped T2 or T1 in the end, but it would have been so much better without that bad casting choice and the parodiac elements.
T3 may open a can of bad worms but at least it wasn't sufferable compared to the shit I witness as of late with Genisys and Dark Fart but nevertheless isn't excusable for setting that standard in the franchise.
Always wondered why the Skynet rifles are made so tiny in this one. They look made for humans. In T2 they're massive and the T-800 fires it one handed.
You mean the machines made themselves in our image that God made us under the flesh and blood just in metal, wires and bolts, pistons instead of bones.

Damn, there is just something so great about these visual effects. Somehow they don't feel so over-artificial. If you know what i mean. Whatever blend of special and practical effects are at play here seems perfect.
I have always thought T3 is un unfairly underrated film, its certainly way better than any of the Terminator films that have followed it. The SFX have aged well too..
This is actually a decent Terminator movie.
Remove the corny comedy and make Connor stronger mentally (less dramatic) and this could have been a damn good terminator movie.
The Seventh Elk It’s my favourite one of them all. Haters can hate but I really like this film. It entertains me and I love the smack down in the $h1t house near the end.
@I'm Your President
It was always decent.

Blowing up Skynet did made a difference... It changed the laser from purple to blue. ✌
Nope, they are using third generation laser, which is more deadly.
WHiTe FrEaKiNg Lasers
Yes because it's a new Skynet not the same Skynet
The best looking T800 yet. For sure they look better than the one they showed in Salvation. I am not sure this was all CG, at least the one close to the camera was a model. The thing I love in this scene is that the terminators move fluidly, it all happens naturally. And the eyes. Look at the terminator in the close-up, before turning its head, he moves its eyes, like a real person scanning the environment, the focuses its attention right in front and moves the jaw. All these tiny details in the movements are amazing!
And they interact with their environment. One of to the right kicks over some debris and another moves some of the scrap out of its path.

Neat little detail: The T-850's optics remain with a red glow until it faces the camera, no doubt staring into the audience's eyes. Only then, it seems to darken as it's pupils dilate. It's minor, but it shows a sort of hatred for the humans, a hunger to kill them by any means. It's pretty neat. :0
Great comment 👍
Whoa!!
0:58 For me is the best cgi of T-800 of all terminators movies.
Its t850
Salvation did it better, but this is also great
@@DimoB8 salvation cgi is quite bad actually. Everytime T-800 is on screen it bad cgi, check that first helicopter scene the cgi head is bad
It is if you think about it especially the last part of it
schwartzy65 That was a prop. And it was a t-600 not a t-800 so it looks different. Prototype t-800 was towards the end when it almost killed John.
These T-800/850s look buff and heavy compared to the frail designs we got in Genesys and Dark Fate.
I would pay good money to see a whole film just centered around the actual war between humans and skynet, and not the crap from terminator: salvation
Me too, I would love to watch a proper in the future war, like the flashbacks
Salvation is not crap. It is a sequel to T3 and it showed a very early point of the war starting from T3's end. It was an early point so no purple lasers and massive futuristic techs were built yet. But Salvation was going towards that. It was supposed to have 2 more sequels. But sadly its studio went bankrupt and they had to sell the terminator rights. Salvation sequels would surely show us those advanced futuristic battles. You should be sad that Salvation is being ignored. Salvation was perfect. I TOTALLY love that film💖💖💖💖💖💖.
Hey salvation is decent that it shows early in the war and not yet in the middle
HellFighterz thank you!!!!
Towkir Shuvo it really is a shame. But at least resistance gave us something similar
1:15 the look on the terminators face is terrifying. Imagine a t-800 endoskeleton trying to kill you with a look like that irl

It was terrifying in the theater screen;
Still can't beat the future war scenes from the first two.
This 🤟
Particularly the first one.
The first two minutes is the terminator story everyone wanted but never got,
When you know how much death and destruction one T800 can do. 0:57 Then seeing an entire ARMY of T800, that is utterly terrifying.
I rented this movie from Hollywood Video when i was a kid. This whole scene terrified me, but 1:18 made me start crying. My parants took it out and brought it back immediately. Lol.
Lmao
R.i.p cameraman who was standing in front of the T-800
😂
Don't worry about him. He teleported back to the past for the next shot.
Most of the T-850's in the background act and make gestures like humans do!
Well yes because they're program to imitate humans more efficiently than previous models
Tell whatever you like but I think this movie is very underrated and underappreciated. Of course it has its flaws but it blends in perfectly with the lore. Especially this scene and T-X.
one of my favorite movie openings. Love the shot out of the water to the HK flying off
the way it moves it's jaw like that, "what have we here".
I love how terrifying they made the future war look, you could just be hiding in a destroyed town then 10 seconds later theres T800s slowly walking forward as they terminate everything in there path.
Using zero CGI, the opening to T2 is far more epic.
Both are amazing and epic in their own respective right
I beg to differ.

1:17 when the t-800 gives that evil look is very scary
This scene and the opening to the first 2 movies makes me question how exactly Skynet lost the war. Not only are each unit equipped with thousands of combat tactics straight out of the mass produced assembly line. But the resistance has to wait 9 months for a human to be born and then wait another 17 or so years to have new soldiers on the field. Also since the entire world is nuked then where do humans get their food from, let alone oxygen.
Plot armor
Retrojon 5 didn’t most of the humans live in underground bunkers?
There is enough oxygen for 10 years without plants to produce it. There is just too much out there.

People complain alot about salvation not being the future war they wanted when salvation took place in 2018, not the late 2020s where james camerons future war was seen. Big technological difference especially for machines that dont need to eat sleep or rest.
Where are you getting these beautiful HD clips of these films, when the blu-ray releases are so shoddy?
Wario64I bump. Hoping to get an answer for this too
He changes aspect ratio
I think it’s a different footage. And yes the Blu-ray releases are shite.
@Boba Fett Lol no, blu-rays of the Terminator films are fucking awful. Blurays of Terminator 1, 2 and 3 are blurry and full of grain, UHD Blurays on the other hand are so over-denoised that everyone looks like a wax figure. None looks so crisp and detailed like this channel's clips - even after RUclips compression.
I recently bought it on digital from M.A for $5 and it looks this clean when i stream it thru Vudu, but the audio is only in stereo, if i stream it thru Amazon, it doesn't look as good, but the audio is in full 5.1 surround sound. Terminator 3 has one of the best intros of the future, despite being short, to this day it looks excellent

T3 is so underrated not perfect but way better than any T-movie after 2010

Because they WERE stop motion. Advanced CGI wasn't cheap or readily available during the time the first 2 were made.
How can these T850 model machines get a height of 6'2" and be excessively heavy? the fact they weigh about a ton is quite mind blowing

1:17 It actually has Schwarzenegger’s tooth gap! Nice touch :-)
Always wondered why the Skynet rifles are made so tiny in this one. They look made for humans. In T2 they're massive and the T-800 fires it one handed.
