  • Jesus Joel, where do you come up with this stuff?? Good god. That was awesome, man. I know a couple tracks by them but I've never heard them go on like this. I guess I need to do a deep dive to get schooled on Foreigner now lol. Our third "Member of the Month" video of the day (10/3/24) and each song has been bangin'. Joel knows how to pick em' lol
The keys are just ridiculous on this.. along with the vocals too. His voice is so powerful! And the guitar is the cherry on top, man.

Lou Gramm, another one of the best lead singers in rock history. Foreigner was untouchable back in the day. Thanks Joel.

It’s 1981. I’m a college freshman in my dorm room. We open Foreigner 4 and put it on the stereo. The studying stops and the party begins. Let’s just say the morning lectures and note taking was hindered by a massive hangover but it was worth it.

I saw Foreigner in 1978, my second concert. Their big special effect was this huge curtain in back of the band that had red lights shining on it. During Hot Blooded, the stage hands waved the curtain by the bottom corners. It was supposed to give the effect of boiling blood. I still have the ticket stub, the ticket cost $7.00

Foreigner 4 is a super album front to back. This live version is pretty faithful to the album track

REO Speedwagon, Foreigner, and Night Ranger were living in that hard rock/pop hybrid area....and killing it

Lou Gramm was in Black Sheep before he was in Foreigner. They put out two albums, the first one being the best. Lou was known as Louis Grammatico then.

So you are continuing with this 70s-80s power band genre. I always think of this band as Journey's cousin, although I like Foreigner better. They both wrote catchy and memorable songs, but this band was somehow more honest to me. Journey's Steve Perry was always cast as the girl's heartthrob more than the band was. Foreigner seemed like more of a unit. Hard to put a finger on it; never saw either act live..... Wouldn't put this Foreigner song on my fav list. I thought they did better ones. I'd put "I wanna know what love is" and "cold as ice" a head of this track.

Flippin' great song, but do the studio version at some point. Lou Gramm is an incredible vocalist.
