I know this was from 7 years ago but 2023 is popping in to say THANKS!!! I made one along with the video and the 2 balls of macrame cord I had no business impulse purchasing but now I have a solution to my plant space problem.
This is exactly what I needed to learn how to do. Since I have very curious and adventurous kitties, I need to get my plants out of their reach. I love how simple and quick it is to make, yet looks so pretty. And yes, I'd love to see more macrame DIY projects.Thank you.
It’s 2024 and I used to macrame back in 70’s. I really enjoyed watching the video and I loved the energy I felt from the two of you; also from the children at the end!
The beauty of having great neighbors, and being able to synergize and create amazing things together. Oh, I love it!!!🥹😍👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾❤❤❤ Totally going to try this out!!!😆🥳
Omg I have been wanting to find some diy hanging planters. These look so beautiful! Your neighbor did great in front of the camera. Thanks for showing us!
I'm so glad to have stumbled upon this video after coming up empty at the local chain stores for a couple of outdoor pots that lost their plastic hangers. I followed your instructions but had to make my lengths much longer using heavy cording we have in our stash of goodies. Worked like a charm. The plants are now hanging!! Accomplishment feels great!! Thanks!!
I grew making them at school. The indigenous population in Mexico is incredibly creative 😊. It was a popular school craft for Mother's day. Perfect gift! We made them with jute as the original. My hands were raw and bruised, but it was so much fun. We highly value the contribution made by our indigenous groups.
Cute! These would look cute hanging in the trees above our outdoor dining space. I'm thinking I could put battery operated candles in them to make the space look extra fancy during our monthly gatherings. Also, Cinda has a great personality!
Love this. I did lots of macrame 40 years ago. Lots of very fancy knotting, but I love the simplicity of your hanger. Your calculations for the length are brilliant. I put simple half hitches instead of beads to give it some interest. The simple design also uses less cord so it's really inexpensive. Rope and cording has gone up, up, and up, since I was doing it back in the 70s.
Simple but beautiful! I know there are many more complicated knots to build for macrame hangers, but honestly, these look fabulous and won’t stress me out. Thank you!!
I am working in the yard and repotting plants. I needed a quick plant hanger for the porch. I removed my shoes, went to my computer and googled "How to make a quick plant hanger from rope" your video was one of the 1st to come up. I watched it, wrote down the math and out the door I went. Plant hanger in 15 mins. And a "pretty to look at" to boot. AWESOME! I will be back for more ideals. :-)
It was my very first time learning to make a hanging planter, and can't believe I made this beautiful thing in one go! Extremely happy with the result 💯
Wow! Fantastic! I made this with cotton (because its a gift to my husband for our 2nd anniversary which the theme is cotton) and planting the same flowers we used in our wedding. I thought of a cotton macrame planter the day before our anniversary, so thank you for making this video! Didn't have alot of time and needed something simple yet super meaningful.
I made my first macrame plant hanger today with this tutorial. I had to come back and say thank you! My technique needs some improvement but it looks good and does the job. Thanks again 😀😀😀
saw these plant hangers in an upscale store and thought..."$50??? I could MAKE that!!" So I bought a cute white pot, followed your instructions using natural twine and VIOLA! Looks awesome, it's exactly what I wanted and cost me about 1/10th of the one in the store! Thanks, Ladies!
Thank you!!! That is so easy! Got 2 beautiful hanging plants and only took me 30mins with bits I had in the house 😍😍 wanted hanging planters for so long as well lol xx
This was THE EASIEST (though I thought another demonstration was). Cinda's was the most Simple straight-forward method. I can see how to add bead easily. Thanks, What's Up Moms. I'm subscribing now.
Oh my, Cinda is so natural in front of a camera! if she also has young kids, why not invite her to make a small series? she could teach us to make Macrame, or work with Brooke for DIYs
I've been trying for the last week to find a solution for a planter that I have, but everything was either expensive or difficult to make.... In just five minutes I solved this problem!!! Thank you so much for this very easy tutorial !!
i love this video. As i crochet, i wanted to crochet a planter holder for hanging plants.... i certainly didn't want to buy any. i used my RedHeart Yarn and just doubled strand to your one strand. i added a square cup coaster to assure my pot doesnt fall through when and if the wind blows. im in carolina and it can get a bit windy on my street. i have 5 red plastic pots for 97 cent each, 5 Drawft Celosia (6 sections = $1.88) so thats 30 of them total. thanx a million for this very easy and beautiful video. its getn warm out and i like planting as well as crocheting when im not at work.
I know how to make knots. Her explanation if not clear right from the beginning. Is she cutting the lengths of the string. Is she tying them together? Very confusing
Thank you for this tutorial and for sharing your knowledge. My first macrame and it turned out perfect and was so quick to pull together! Thanks again. Greetings from Sunny South Africa .
OMG, I remember making these as a young kid in Mexico. The indigenous population are extremely artistic and creative as you know. I really appreciate the modifications made in this side of the border by substituting ixtle (yucca fibers) with Macrame. Al lot easier in your fingers especially if you are a small child :)
omg! I've been looking for one for weeks when my mom laughed at me and said its so easy, just make one. i was reluctant as i was worried it would look nice but thanks to you girls, it's actually super nice and perfect!!! awesome :-D thanks!!
I’m totally lost in the whole math and cuttings , 0:44-1:00 , she is not even showing the rope cut and how did that happen. Beautiful piece however sadly unclear beginning rope cuttings.
I'm early, allow me to make a joke: Two guys are in the woods and one dies suddenly. The other calls an ambulance. He says "l think my friend is dead, wat do?" The person on the other end says "First, make sure he's dead" The operator hears two bangs. The guy says, "ok, now wat" ok sorry terrible joke I know plz don't kill meeeeeeeee
please more of this! I was tought macramé at school when I was a kid and told my mom about it a few days ago. I told her that it is a shame these kind of things are no longer tought at school so therefor more of them here please. 😉
I have never had my mind blown so quickly!!!!!!! I am literally going out and making macrame planters all day. Thank you.
Good luck Not easy to follow
@@maryannsiwek82 I made it in 10 mins

I'm here in quarantine doing crafts! Even with watching this 10 times, I made one in 20 minutes! Fabulous!:)
Quick question: at 0:57 Cinda says "repeat it 3 more times", but on the screen it says "repeat it x4". Which one do i follow? Thanks!
+Ria Alluri you need four strands total, we had already made one which is why she said "three more" :) xx B

Not everyone has these skills...
But you will be good at something else which these people with such skills can't understand..
So chill
