This is a great tutorial. I especially appreciated how well you showed the gathering and that you can pull the knot through to hide it. Other tutorials have the people's hands in the way so I could never tell if they actually pull the knot up and under the wrap or just up to it. I pulled mine through after watching your video and it's a beautiful wrap now! Thank you!

I don't know if I'm ready to try and accomplish this, but this is BY FAR the best video I have seen. I'm been deep diving for a couple of days and the ones I've watched don't use (or provide) measurements in US terms. Second, they get really fancy with the different type of knots they use. Yes, they look really nice, but I need something simpler and easy to understand. And you definitely provided this! When I get the guts to accomplish this, I'll be following your video 😊😊 TYFS

Wow I just peeled off 2 of these in no time! Thanks for your clear instructions!! Made them for outside using the standard greenhouse hanging plastic pots they come in. Used some twine/rope I had from a yard sale. Strung 4 strands through a ring and made the gathering knot under that. Used four strands of rope each 100" long to make a final product of 44" long with the tassel. Based the length on 2 outside macrame hangars I bought also at a yard sale some years back they last a long time.

I could not find any no where where I'm from. Surely they don't have no use for them anymore. It's silly just getting r8d of things that are useful a d pretty neat. I have always wanted to learn how to do this so not selling them anymore has made me look it up and do I myself. Have a blessed day. God bless you from Birmingham, Alabama

I've never made anything macramé in my life. I have some English Ivy that I was going to plant outside but then I found out it's poisonous to dogs and I'm afraid my baby might nibble on it. So I figured putting in a hanging planter outside would be best.
I watched this video yesterday morning and then went to wal-mart to get some cord but all they had was jute. That'll do!
Anyway this morning about a half hour ago I made a small practice hanger from memory, AND IT WORKED!!! That's how simple his instructions were. I placed a tiny pot in the netting and fit perfectly.
So now I'm going to start working on the real ones but I'm going to use 4 cords instead if 3 and I'm thinking square and spiral knots will make it POP!
Wish me luck and thanks for this video!!!💞💞💞

In the last 5 months, I've gone from "I kill all houseplants" and not knowing the difference between "sedum" and "succulent" to having an entire room FULL of succulents. Yup, I've got it bad. Now that it's warming up, I decided tonight that I should get some hanging shelves or plant hangers to put some of them on the porch. Then I remembered how macrame hangers were all the rage when I was younger. So I searched for "easy macrame plant hanger" and found you. I was prepared to have to buy supplies, to take notes, to have to watch a dozen videos and make several terrible wonky ones before I figured out what to do. Then you said "gathering knot" and I thought, "sh*t! I need to have some rope here to practice!" But no. You made this so simple, so logical. After 16 minutes I not only know how to do this, but I'm super excited to get started and am gonna use whatever rope or yarn I have around the house to start!
If you don't make tutorial videos, I definitely don't want to watch anyone who DOES. Excellent job!
BTW, I so love the 3-rope design, I'll probably never use 4. Three is a much better number, so I'm glad I saw this before looking at the ones with 4.
