  • Let me show you how to make your own simple macrame plant hanger in this easy step by step tutorial for beginners!
This DIY macrame plant holder is a quick and easy design and we'll start without a wooden ring because we make a hanging loop with the cord.
I'll also kind of walk you through my process of coming up with this design (spoiler alert: I made this design up as I filmed the video 😅)

I did macrame in the 80's when it was popular. I decided to teach a class to the women in my home and garden club how to make a small plant hanger. I looked on RUclips to see if I could find a simple pattern tutorial to refresh my memory. I"m so glad I came across this one. It is a great pattern for beginners or for someone like me who had experience from long ago. I like this one best because it had several different knots instead of just one and that you can add beads or not. This tutorial was very well done. I'm going to check out her other videos.

Hello Chrystal, thank you for this fun tutorial! I am making this plant hanger, it's my first macrame project and I'm adding some beads. Your tutorial is so clear and easy to follow!

I can so relate to your measuring process. When I was very young, I remember my Grandmother telling me how to somewhat gauge a yard of fabric by holding the end in your fingertips, stretching your arm out straight from the shoulder & measuring it from there to the tip of your nose. Many years later I read where if you stretched both arms out & measured from the tip of your middle finger on one side to the tip on the other side, it will usually equal your full height in inches. So I'm pretty sure her measurements where off since she was only 5' 4". Lol

Great tutorial! Thank you. I made one as a kid in art class back in the 80's but they had us use a kit with ring and beads to go on it too. And I really wanted a more clean looking hanger without all the hardware!

Hi Crystal...thanks for your awesome videos! I was wondering if you have a finished length for this hanger. Also, on another video you were working on a white board. What kind of board is it and how do you fasten your work down? It must be quite sturdy to handle the tugging! Thanks for your help.

Hi, loved this one, I must have gone wrong somewhere, I had several very long ones left and 2 very short ones ,almost too short to finish, started with 8 x 170inches

An arms length is your height. Just saying
    So im 170cm/ 5 foot 7", its 66. Something inches .
So basically below Average Height do 3. Lol.
    Sorry hopefully someone understand that
