He has met Allah & Prophet Muhammad PBUH hundreds of times in his dreams for the last 30 years and only started sharing his dreams since 2014-2015. Many of his dreams have come true as Allah promised to him and more of his dreams will come true. I urge all Muslims to pay attention to his dreams, the main message is to eradicate all forms of shirk revealed by Allah SWT so the ummah will gain success and the help of Allah, in line with Surah An Nur verse 55. All the dreams do not deviate from Quran and Hadiths, they match with all the glad tidings, reminders and warnings from Allah SWT in the dreams. In another narration, the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Those of you who have the most truthful dreams are those who are the most truthful in speech." Sahih/Authentic. - [Al-Bukhari and Muslim] The Prophet said, "Whoever sees me (in a dream) then he indeed has seen the truth ." Paul: (Hmmmm... maybe if I put my house name on it.. history would change..) "Could I be known as Paul-Muad'dib?" Stilgar: "You are Paul-Muad'dib" Paul: (I DID IT. I CHANGED SOMETHING!) The Fremen: (Calls him Muad'dib nonethenless and proceeds to do the holy war)
I'm not sure that's true that one Fremen literally said Muad'Dib when teasing him in the beginning and her turned to her to ask her what the small desert mouse was called again. So he is familiar with the name already he was just asking for clarification on the pronunciation
I like how stilgar squints his eyes when he realizes Muad’Dib creates his own water, is wise in the ways of the desert; and that their version of a North Star is also referred to by the same name. Stilgar is a man of faith but seemed thoroughly skeptical; until Paul just kept racking up sign after sign. This naming was just one of the smaller ones that began to bring stilgar into fanaticism. The riding of Shai-Hulud; and definitely returning from “the dead”.
Yeah I loved that touch. The "creates his own water" part hit harder as a result. For their savior will need water to create the paradise they seek. It gave the impression that the character had that brief realization mid sentence/thought.
Everybody seems to love the Muad'dib part. Additionally "Usul" has meanings of "Method, way, plan" in many of the languages you come across it. It's definitely a beautiful name.
Paul thought he just lost his masters, here he found a new one which is Stilgar being an uncle figure he is.. But in the end, he lost him too due to him becomes a fanatic worshipper than a family
Sadly the difference between Stilgar and Leto is the latter insisted that the most important thing he needed Paul to be wasn't a Duke, but himself; Stilgar only accepts Paul under the belief he's his Mahdi, and refuses to accept he isn't whether Paul likes it or not.
Stilgar was first a mentor and guide, but even after he became a follower he was still invaluable to Paul, esp. after he became Emperor...Stilgar was his closest friend and advisor (Paul promoted Stilgar to his right hand man, like Fenring was to Shaddam in the books....basically making Stilgar the second highest ranking person in the Imperium) ...and his loyalty to Paul remained fierce and unwavering, even after Paul's death
@koko40800 unwavering after death is not necessarily true, the first chapter of Children of Dune being the purest example of such. Loyal, yes, but definitely not unwavering.
Imho one of the greatest scenes of the movie. Here is where the road of him becoming the Lisan Al Gaib starts. He confidently tells these proud warriors what they can become , what Dune can be. And it falls on fertile ground. Chalomet nails it.
His choosing Muad'Dib (a small, vulnerable desert mouse that creates its own water in an environment where there is none, that can survive in climate that no other living creature can) highlights an important theme in Dune. Finding power in an unlikely place. Nobody knew the Fremen were the fiercest fighters in the galaxy. Everybody wrote them off as savages. The Harkonnens attempted to dump Paul in the desert to die. Instead, he harnessed the desert's power and took over everybody.
My brain protested hard when I saw the cast before the release of the first movie. After the release however, I can't imagine anyone else but Bardem for this role.
The constellation that points to the North Star is the Big Dipper, called by the ancient Egyptians as Meshketiu or Khepesh (Khopesh) which meams Thigh of the Bull (of Ombos) i.e. the god Set - the slayer of the giant serpent of chaos named Apep.
That's one thing that stuck out on the movies for me. Where are they getting their food from? And what is it? I don't know that I saw anyone in the movie eating any notable amount of food.
@@MrTmax74 basically all the fremen consume is spice. It's essentially the superfood of all super foods. It's like if you consumed the captain America serum 24/7 as your one sustenance. They're a race of battle-hardened superhumans driven by frantically worship of their gods the shai-hulud and their prophet who will save them from their centuries of hardship
I thought Paul became one of them when he killed Jamis. “A life for a life you are one of us now”, that’s what Stilgar said after the duel. Or am I tripping?

Paul had visions of being called Muad’Dib, and tried to avoid that by choosing what he thought was a humble name. Fate had other plans for him.

@@joec9693 he’s talking about the book
btw, this only happens in the books. In the movie this little guy was happy as fuck about being named "little desert mouse" 😹
So he had visions of being called Muad'Dib and tried to avoid it yet called himself Muad'Dib anyway? Ok......
@@skillsmachine9164 In the book he didn't know that the desert mouse was called Muad'Dib in the Fremen language
thinking about this when Paul says to Stilgar later on, "I'm pointing the way!"
Yes yes yes
Stilgar: "You need a war name"
Paul: "My visions say, I can't use Hitler, Stalin, Muad'Dib or Pol Pot. Let's try something cute and unassuming".
"How do you call the uh... the small desert birds?"
"Pu'tin!"

thanks for re-inventing the comment instead of just blatantly copying it.
Stilgar acts like an old uncle if you come from a middle eastern family especially when says “he can foresee” the mannerisms are so familiar lol
So many of the Fremen reminded me of family members, it was very enjoyable xd
So it seems Javier Bardem played him very well, considering he’s a Spaniard.
Stilgar's "He can foresee things!" immediately after Paul's "Aw shit!" scene is funny as hell.
I like how stilgar squints his eyes when he realizes Muad’Dib creates his own water, is wise in the ways of the desert; and that their version of a North Star is also referred to by the same name. It's like he's a hipster who's impressed by Paul's vinyl collection. "Muad'Dib? Damn bro, that's a deep cut."
The dude who hugs Paul right before Chani gets there is the first one Paul points out during the speech.
I absolutely love how good Bardem is in this scene. Chalamet and him share fantastic chemistry.

This is my favorite scene in the movie.
I don't know why, but I LOVE the lighting in this scene! It feels so so real and intimate. Grieg Fraser is a master.
Fraser absolutely deserves recognition come awards season. Some of the best I’ve seen since Blade Runner 2049
The way chani looks at Paul lolol
In the book he calls himself Paul Muaddib thinking he reflected the Jihad but they call him Muaddib anyway
As written
This is the way
Javier Bardem is so believable as Stilgar, I forget that he is merely an actor.
I think, Javier Bardem nailed the "oriental" gesturing, feels very natural.
My brain protested hard when I saw the cast before the release of the first movie. After the release however, I can't imagine anyone else but Bardem for this role.
Javier Bardem is such a masterful actor!

The Fedaykin are a warrior class of the Fremen. This naming ceremony is Paul joining the Fedaykin.
Actually the shadow of mouse in the second moon 🌖

What did she say?
"Usul"
'Usul' = "Base of the pillar"...which is strong and wide, and allows the pillar to fully extend...she liked that name ;-)
Stilgar put on a lot of weight since part one. Looks like he ate a lot of Spice since Paul's arrival
wrong. Maud'dib is wise in the ways of desert, he hides from the sun and travels at night. we call this one "the teacher of children"
