FILM DESCRIPTION:
From his birth in Bethlehem to his death and eventual resurrection, the life of Jesus Christ (Max von Sydow) is given the all-star treatment in this epic retelling. Major aspects of Christ's life are touched upon, including the execution of all the newborn males in Egypt by King Herod (Claude Rains) ; Christ's baptism by John the Baptist (Charlton Heston) ; and the betrayal by Judas after the Last Supper that eventually leads to Christ's crucifixion and miraculous return.

Robert Powell played the role superbly in Jesus of Nazareth. However, his likeness to the image we typically know of Christ is the most accurate.

The greatest love story EVER told 💙. When you realise Jesus IS and WAS the Father, the one true creator of this Universe, God incarnate, WOW what unconditional love God has for us all. That he would sacrifice his life for his fallen children/his fallen angels on Earth so that those that believe and love Jesus, can be reunited back where we belong in heaven with him, by freeing us from the very sin that keeps us on Earth. What a BEAUTIFUL and loving God we have. 😇

@@ante-nicenechristianity Oh I read my bible my friend. I even delve so deep into the understandings that I know our Heavenly Father is Jesus. There are over 50 verses in the Bible that say Jesus is God and Jesus is the Father. Just one of them being John 14:9 "Jesus replied, “Have I been with you all this time, Philip, and yet you still don’t know who I am? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father! So why are you asking me to show him to you?" . Knowing Jesus is also God the father is just having an extra extra special relationship with Jesus. There is only one God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, Jesus is ALL of those. I pray that Jesus shows you that he is the Father, St Ignatius. It took me many years of fasting and prayer for Jesus to reveal it to me.
Jesus called himself Son of God on earth so that people would follow him, as if he said he was the creator God people would of thought he was crazy or laughed at him and people wouldn't of even followed him as Disciples. They may of even locked him up in prison for blasphemy saying that he was God. Jesus knew he was God the moment he was baptised by John, as the Holy Spirit reminded Jesus who he truly was. That's why the disciples say in the bible Luke 2:52 "Jesus grew in wisdom". Its also why he could do the miracles he could do because he was the creator Father God just incarnate as a human. 3 in 1, One God now and Forever. Amen 🙏💙
@@adamjames5077 There are no such verses. The verse you refer to only attests to the fact that Jesus is the exact image and representation of His Father. There is a very clear distinction. In that, the Father is greater than the Son. It was the Father who sent the Son, and the Father who resurrected Him. You believe something that the Bible doesn't teach, the apostles didn't teach, and the early church fathers didn't teach. You have a new interpretation like everyone else, and your new interpretation isn't compatible with the rest of the gospel. Jesus did not pray to Himself in the garden, He did not ask Himself to forgive the ignorant while on the cross, He didn't return to Himself.
You complicate the Bible with your modern ideas. It is much simpler than that. God begat a Son in the very beginning, the Son who is firstborn, who shares His exact essence and likeness, being God by birthright, but owing His existence to His Father and serving Him as a Son and thereby earning His inheritance.
As far as your explanation of the Trinity goes, you've created another new interpretation. The church fathers, when they had coined the very term you've hijacked, intended for it to explain the relationship and shared essence and harmony that exists in the Godhead - not an explanation of our monotheism. The modern protestant pseudo-Christian is a polytheist, believing in 3 gods that have always been. A true Christian believes according to the Bible, the apostles, and the church fathers that the Father is the one true God, and the Spirit and the Son proceed from Him, and are obedient to Him. One Unbegotten God.

It’s strange seeing Maxwell Klinger sitting at the last supper.
I always keep the scriptures in mind regarding inaccuracies in Biblical films and shows, but I also always remember that the truth is that Jesus did and said the things He did out of love, mercy, and grace for all of us.

My favorite film of the story of Christ. In the last supper, notice how it differs from all present portraits. There is no young man or woman next to Jesus that some say was Mary Magdeline at the table.

The music is pretty neat in this scene. But this is a very dull reenactment of the last supper. I was not impressed with Max Von Sedow's acting as Jesus. And plus it looks like they're in a cave

This movie is beautiful and pure and keeps to the Bible and the movie is nowhere close to the time of dinosaurs or after so please don't judge the movie or you will be judging God and the people make the church not just a building with chairs but the people make the church

The way they portrayed it was so terrible and based on a random artist painting to there were such verses didn't take place at that last supper
They tried to fit the Gospel into a 4-hour movie (when it was first released before trimming it down to 3), which means they probably shifted some scriptures to fit them all in with the way the story was being presented.

I have watched this movie a long time ago. It could have been better... the story can be told better. I wonder if anyone has considered making a new one. I was a little kid when this came out and only saw it years later. I remember I sort of liked parts of it but it seemed confusing or perhaps just they way they put it together. Lots of big named actors but the movie could've been MUCH better. I never liked Max Von Sydow in this part because well let's face it he was a white man not a hebrew. Anyway, everyone has opinions and this is mine short as it it.
