@rebuildersmotorshop this was a great video to watch, especially for a person like me who wants to pull my engine out of my 07 A8. I want to know everything about it, and upgrade things while it’s apart. Unfortunately, I do not know the best sequence on the pull out, tare down, and rebuild. I got the all data program ( I wish I had a book version of the repair manual). I was wondering if I may take some of your time (I can pay for your time and knowledge) to get some guidance and pointers from someone who has experience. I could put in the money to have someone else do it, but where the fun and knowledge in that. I have tried to research but not sure if I’m looking at all the wrong places. I hope you may help an enthusiast like me. Thank you.
Toward the end I got tired for you lol. Looking at that stout engine block turn short into long block and having to deal with the engine on a stand and rotating it makes me thankful for my 1.8t Jesus that thing must be like 600 pounds when it’s all dressed up! Good work! Is this for a RS4? Or A6?
no, the 4.2 of the r8 is problematic, while the v10 is stout and reliable. In the a8, the v10 and the v8 are very close, but the v10 has a split pin crank to make it even-fire with a 90 degree v
Hello Bro.. hope you doing well. I have Audi A8 4.2 FSI, V8 . Problem with late start too much crank and after pressing full throttle then will start. Problem only After 90° temperature. Cold starting is very quickly start. Please suggest me what could be problem. Fault is showing in scanner : too rich in bank 1

Fuel also mixed with engine oil. I replaced both High pressure fuel pumps. And I cleaned and tested fuel injectors.

07 a8 is an older timing belt, port injection motor closer to the BFM than the BVJ, which is simpler than this. Happy wrenching

did that motor have any scoring in cyls when you built it
No, cylinders were in perfect shape.
How did you get timing correct ?
Do you service vehicles I have a 2008 a6 4.2 L. The motor needs a rebuild ..
