In Our Times the Slothful Click Their Way to Hell

- How many become slothful in our times... They put off doing what they are supposed to be doing… when they are supposed to do it. How many are so distracted today with many things such that they neglect their duties… the very things that will save their souls. For such ones these lines of Scripture ought to hit home… “Go thy way… Amen I say to you, I know you not... You are of your father the devil… Bind his hands and feet, and cast him into the exterior darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” O how easy sloth is for us in these times… a click here and click there and we see and learn many things that ought not concern us or see things that do not belong to us… things that can strip us quickly of the wedding garment… things that make us children of the devil. How many give into the lies of the devil… and fall into murmuring… merely by clicking. O how easy it is to click our way into hell, whiling away the time allotted to us to fill the lamps with much needed oil. Lent is coming. It is time to put a stop to all that clicking… all that searching for useless information, useless sight seeing, much of which is flowing from the psy-ops of hell’s propaganda machine or hell’s sticky traps for man’s fallen nature to become fixed and deeply damaged.

But this kind is not cast out but by prayer and fasting.

It's so easy isn't it to go straight to the computer.I only go to it if I'm needing to order Necessary goods then immediately off it.I also never listen to radio and/or TV especially politics/Covid,things I can do nothing about basically because if you absorb too much of the negative you will become depressed ,it works.psychologically, When the Amish were asked why Covid wasn't affecting them they said ,Because we don't have TV/Radio.I rest my case🙏🙏🙏

Yes, I'll pray 4 you. It's hard now to be joyful. BUT - start to write 3 things you're grateful for daily. Then build up to morning and night writing 3 things to be thankful for. It is proven to help anyone gain happiness. A grateful heart 💓 can't be sad. No meds work as well. Also talk to the Lord about your problems. Try to find a friend that will listen. God bless you.

Very good homily. A completely new insight into our spiritual obligations.
I love this priest. He’s in my diocese. He walks around town in his cassock. He’s friendly and holy. I confessed a sin to him in Confessional and he said, “you are in trouble man.” He spoke to me with truth and compassion.
I am very convicted of this. God willing I will spend Lent fasting of these distractions.
This one really hits me hard, oh man - Help me oh Lord! May your will be done in my life, help me to do what I must!

Yes we are all looking for comfort and truth in these evil times when there is no truth justice to be had and this is denied from mainstream media and Big Tech. Yes, we need to curb our excesses but we also need to be informed otherwise we are in denial of reality. Moderation is the key word here. I too will curb my excesses with the grace if God but I will also keep informed.

In my spiritual life, i'm doing all the right things at the right time, for the most part. I've never been closer to God. However in the secular life, I am slothful and lazy. I spend too much time on the computer, which is fine if im studying, but if im playing video games or watching videos, I am being slothful. I make excuses to not read or go outside. What can I do to to put a stop to sloth?

Lower your number of clicks by slowly incorporating self mortification's to help you learn to deny the flesh because sin leads to pain. In pain, you will be reminded of this and reset your will to not sin any more, such as through overuse of the computer. Say a prayer before you step into the shower for someone who needs prayer. Then let the cold water place you into suffering while you say some prayers for a minute of two. Offer up your pain for the one you wanted to pray for as well as to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

But the way he sounds is as if he was being sarcastic, and the way he says Hail Mary sounds like he was ridiculing what he is saying. Is he gay or seriously histrionic? Why could he not talk like a normal person? Or are people so desperate for traditional content that anything goes? Or do the enemies of tradition know this and take advantage of it? I expect a sermon to sound like a fatherly admonition. Not like I was being insulted by a homosexual.

The problem is that even though he uses some correct and interesting terms, names virtues and talks about 'psyops', he could as well be reading Lord of the Rings aloud. It's an entertaining, emotional rollercoaster, with fears rising here, desires rising there and senses of urgency rising somewhere else. He's wanking his audience. He does not stop to explain or give understanding, and when he seemingly does, he ruins it by reducing it down to the level of emotion.

St Mother Theresa of Calcutta felt far away from God many times - persevere - you do not know the great love Our Lord has for each one of us - He would have died to save just you if you were the only person. Pray the Novena of Abandonment over and over. Never give up. Jesus loves you more than you can ever know - just trust Him and follow His commandments, Do not envy those who say they hear Jesus speak to them. We must all unite our sufferings to Jesus at the foot of the Cross and offer them up for suffering souls, conversion of sinners and reparation for all the sins against Our Lord and His Blessed Mother. Jesus hears us and all we have to do is trust and love like He did. I have been through this pain and He will hear you if you persevere. God bless you and I will keep you in my prayers. I chuckle when I hear this about clicks because it reminds me of a co-worker I had where he told me that an app he opened was playing, “I love the dirty things you do, I love the way you smack my ***.” It was a good thing our supervisor wasn’t anywhere nearby or else he would have been in trouble. Reminds me that I shouldn’t be so distracted during my day. We could learn something from St. Martha in this regard.

oh my Lord, this is me and everyone else around me, since Churches closed here in TO we are no longer being blessed properly and then there were those that weren't being blessed at all since Church did not interest them, and now it doesn't matter anymore, we are all in the same boat, there are those that discipline themselves at home, this is very hard and for those that are this strong, realize this is a grace coming from God for not everyone is showered with, don't think you are better then those that do not pray, because Grace can be taken away if not deserving, we must all stride for it, and I'm the first to admit, it is very hard and if God does not grace us, we might not find it anymore
Remember we are the Church Militant and members of the Mystical Body of Christ which is His Church. What one does affects the others. Those of us who have access to the sacraments pray for those who don't. The Japanese endured 200 (two hundred) years without a priest yet they passed on the faith. All is done with the grace of God. We only need to cooperate. Christ makes it clear He is the vine: we are the branches, without Him we can do nothing but with Him, yes, with Him, all things are possible. Christ is not constrained by matter even though He uses matter to convey sacramental graces. Pray with consistency. Consistency is more desired than quantity. Pray when you feel good and when you feel nothing. Pray for about 20 minutes a day: about the time it takes to pray the Rosary. May the saints preserve you.
@Mark Paul Francis Xavier thank you, and I will pray for you right now for chances are I'll forget about it later, but just to let you know I was able to get confession and eucharist by appointment, but now they said they can't give it any more, only confession, thank you again for your kindness, prayers are never enough, and when and if enough for me, the remainder God will send to someone else that no one prays for, prayers are never wasted.
