I hope I can attend Chilam Joshi next year if COVID19 eases, in Rumbur valley. I am British Pakistani and have only visited Pakistan once when I was 5, I’ve never had any inclination to visit again until I discovered the Kalash people now I am fascinated and I am so eager to learn more about this beautiful language and culture 😊

Originally chatralies came from Kamdish/Nooristan Afghanistan almost a hundred years ago. They were forced by Afghan King Abdul Rahman khan to covert to Islam. After all, majority of them accepted Islam and remained in Afghanistan who are called Nooristani now but some didn’t accept and convert to Islam and they left and escaped from kamdish , Afghanistan for Chatral that is now part of Pakistan.
