Bravo, thank you for this, staff and tab notation especially. I also noticed that the string action is very, very low, that’s helpful too. I’m ‘new to bass playing,,,thanks again..
Dude, I'm in the same boat. I always wanted to learn and focus solely on this style of playing, but the music the bands I played in didn't really call for it, so I just messed around here and there. But now I'm focusing strictly on slap and funk style. I love it, but the timing is where I'm having the most difficulty.
Thank you very much for these cool riffs! However, I have a question about how to exactly play the ghost notes. In lesson 1B the ghost notes (X) are not marked with a T, however, they are all played with the thumb. In lesson 2 however, it seems to me, that the first X after the 0 is not played with the thumb but instead with a left-hand muted hammer-on, and the second X is played with the thumb. So essentially: 0S XH XS 0S XH XS 5S 7H... Is this correct or am I getting it wrong?
That’s essentially correct. Muted notes on slap bass are essentially played either with the thumb or the left hand hitting the fretboard. As for which one to use, that’s pretty much up to how comfortable it is for you, and how it sounds.
Thank you. You always seem to have such a light touch but massive tone. Do you use 2 compressors, one at the beginning and another at the end of your chain? Btw, LOVING YOUR ALBUM !
Second bar of Less 4 has wrong note in tab. Tab is written with G# on 4th fret, but you're playing A on the 5th fret. Tab goes 4,5,6, (plus octaves) but you play 5,6,7 (with octaves) which sounds better. You should fix the video. Otherwise good video.
Thanks to Val Bevacqua for the tabs. LEAVE A LIKE AND A COMMENT = )
You're a nice teacher.. No word only music!!!!

Very good. As someone who is in the middle of learning slap bass I am finding your lessons very helpful. Thanks.
