Be careful not to breathe to heavy on it, they might not honor the warranty.😑
gamernexus is known to blow up mountain from a molehill to gain viewers attention
Not really I think the criticism he had for asus was fair, you’d get it if you where on the bad side of dog shit customer service
You can't spell Asus without SUS
ass sus
Asus definitely isn’t your ally if the thing breaks down.
The ROG Ally 1.01, we f'd up edition.
The ROG Ally as it should have been released at the price they wanted to charge.
This is going to set the benchmark for the next generation of handhelds, when it comes to Battery, RAM, Ports, and Storage.
And warranty.. ........
There is none 😂
Maybe, but they all seem to be USB4 - so that's not setting the standard, that's following the standard.
The 2280 SSD is a great choice - but not the only one doing that either. Same with RAM.
It's only the battery that is really that leading. Screen not being OLED is also a problem.
@@Mark-nc2nxyou could get it at Best Buy and have zero issues
The heat vents close to the trigger buttons..will you feel the BURN🔥🔥🔥🔥❓️
I hoped they would get rid of the screen bezel and increase the screen size a bit... Otherwise, seems they addressed the other issues
Very interesting sounds like they're checking market for what people are asking, I'm still waiting for a proper comments from then about warranty.
call me crazy but I just preordered the Ally X to produce music and record vocals on FL Studio. I got a few games I've been wanting to play on Steam too like "Fading Afternoon" a fun 16 bit game similar to "Friends of Ringo Ishikawa" that I played on Switch. I know I could probably find a laptop but like the fact that the Rog Ally is a little more portable and I also like the fact that it's a little bit cheaper and a little bit stronger than all the laptops in it's price range. I've already seen a few people producing on FL Studio on the original ROG Ally. I hope my experience on the X could be just as good if not better
It looks like great upgrades. A shame they didn't add hall effect analogs though. Hopefully an Ally 2 will have at least all of these upgrades and not revert back to a smaller battery and memory.
Not everyone wants to pay for Hall effect joysticks, so Asus made it easier to install 3rd party hall effect sticks..
@@conchobar Hall effect is about the same price though. If you are going to pay several hundred dollars nearing $1,000 what is $10 more for reliability? Buying them in bulk could make them cheaper. If you buy them in sets yourself of course it's going to be more expensive.
@@robertlawrence9000 You can exchange the josticks with Hall effect ones, they showed them off at the event.
@@sophieedel6324 Yeah. I know
They needed to do a steam and make a case to ship with. You only just realised that the ally goes the other way LOL. To be fair the 1st time I used the case i did that too.
The larger your hand size the more you would want buttons and sticks right next to each other which is why the steam deck is perfect for me. If you have to choke up on the device a bit then the 45° angle for buttons and sticks makes much more sense.
Love the sniff test. Circuit board creation is so toxic. Love it
It's a shame that these PC journalists can't get the specs right when they are holding the device in there hands and have been invited to an event because they are content providers on youtube! You all get paid for doing this, atleast get the specifications correct before you post a video to RUclips 😆 geez!
god help you if you ever need to RMA this thing
You know something that's good, they are partnering with Gulikit in having aftermarket hall effect sticks. They also designed it in a way that's fairly easy to change them out. Too bad they didn't just put those on to begin with.
Only if your country have crappy consumer laws
We’re all tired of the same copy pasted comments
what's RMA
@@blacksoul4781 spoken like a true Asus RMA technician
Hi What's Asus without the Capital A at the beginning of their name ?
asus
8TB Ally without adaptor will be dope
8TB NVME & 1.5TB MicroSD for 9.5TB of storage on a handheld device. Insane.
11:30 what was that for? Sniff test bs lol
Only missing an OLED screen.
Why did ASUS get rid of the XGM proprietary port??? They bring WAY better bandwidth than Thunderbolt GPU's! bruhhh
Do you perhaps know if the Asus Rog Ally X battery can be used in the older Rog ally Z1?
Changed dont mean much if the OS experience is still as awful as the predecessor.
A refresh of the same device can't cost more than the 1st gen for it to be successful.
Exactly. Almost 1000 Dollars for a device they should have put out in the first place. I'm just gonna wait till the Ally 2 to come out. I just got my ally a month ago for 599.99. Now I would get it if Asus offered 50% off with trade in if your still under warranty. In that case heck yes I would. But they will never do that.
Now that Moore's Law is dead, we now smell new devices as well just to add to the measure XD
Did you scratch it Adam? DID YOU????!!!!
The amount of sus happening in Asus USA.
I rma my rog ally in Malaysia for SD card issue. Got back my rog in 3 days.
LSUS
Asus discontinued bag for Zephyrus G16 2024 in 2 months
Bros been putting the ally in the case incorrectly for the entire time he's owned it, just got corrected, and still put it in wrong in the new hard case lol
This looks really good
2:00 what? only 7000MHz? Or did he made a mistake there? I thought 7500MHz.
It's 7500
daripada menghakimi diri sendiri dengan menyebutkan idiot. lebih baik minta maaf saja. just say sorry. without hurt urself. but love urself
I love Asus.
I'll buy it when if has 99wh and 3050 performance.
OMG, that Ad. At first I thought it was Billy Mays.
I'm curious about the performance with crysis remastered with while overclocking the cpu cores with the max clock speeds and gpu max clock speeds with msi after burner with the max tdp on any of the handheld gaming devices. There are users that still overclock there windows devices and want to know about the performance but does not get mentioned in any of the videos. Not everyone wants malware and bloatware like windows co pilot ai crap like recall and anything related to ai. Whenever I go to youtube, it's like ai is the most talked about ever since entering 2024. When the manufacturers says that ai is on device, I take it with a grain of salt everytime because they say one thing and do the complete opposite of what they say by being hypocrites about it. It's worse when the manufacturers lie and than get caught but than gets swept under the rug because it has become normalized because everyone is doing.
It still smells like a BAD RMA , can you also smell a burnt MicroSD 🤣🤣
I fucking love it but I want the next gen chip!
Jup, 20-30% perf increase would be a reasonable upgrade.
Ally AS-IS condition.
Screen is way too small
Until they officially address how they were scamming people during servicing of product. Being silent about such a huge issue doesn't reflect well at all. They are bound to fail no matter the specs
Pass. I’ll wait wait for an OLED or AMD Strix version.
Looks cool, but not for me...
this is wy you never buy a first gen product
They could have added an oculink port, but i guess its bad for business 😂
They should have priced it at the 599.99 price point. Darn near 1000 bucks is crazy.
Stop being so cheap and be realistic. They upgraded all the specs as far as battery, ram, and SSD.
@@Donfrasl if you got 800 bucks to just throw away all the power to ya.
@roscoebuzzard3687 it's not throwing away anything. You get what you pay for. Those are significant upgrades in regards to how a handheld performs and in my opinion it's well worth the money and will outperform any handheld under 1k easy.
@@Donfrasl I hear you I am wrong I think 700 is more reasonable price. 699.99 not 799.99
@@roscoebuzzard3687 yeah man that would have been perfect especially if they offered a 512gb version.
ASUS warranty support is terrible.
The Joe Biden SNIFF test
😂
Only two bottom buttons. Joke
you want 4 because your looking for reasons to say the steamdeck better. you fanbois running out of excuses lmao
Just get the legion go. No brainer
this is way better than a legion go
@@firstclaims30 only in battery life and maybe ergonomics.
no VRR. Thats huge difference
@narvik7587 that depends on what type of gaming you're mostly going to be doing. I play mostly 2d and/or indie games/emulators, and they all run smooth regardless.
@@SplendidNinja yes it depends, but not a thing to be neglected.
Tired of looks just need real performance test
Didnt. Speak a word of the sd card reader or its location???!! Flags
garbage company. Nope.
Never trust ASUS
Who cares what it's smells like!? Adam, it's not funny! Just stop.
The price is too expensive with LCD screen. And I hate windows 11.
