I like the way the game is turning out visually. The important thing is that it still looks like Mabinogi. Personally I don't want the UI to change very much. It is nice how Mabinogi can have a small UI that doesn't take up a lot of screen space.
@@The_RealH3R0 I think it would be nice if the player could adjust the UI size similar to how you can adjust the UI size in FF14. Also it would be nice if color we pick for the UI didn't change the text color for the Buffs list (it also effects the color of the percentages in the Cooking UI window). There are quite a few UI colors that are completely useless cause they make the text on the Buffs list almost invisible.
@@lastingluminary6573 Hoping that is just a basic test UI. I have no problem with the way the inventory window or even new dye window looks but that skill bar looks horrible. Plus all those little UI buttons in the lower right corner makes it almost look like a mobile game interface. Please let us adjust the size of UI and even move where everything goes. If some players want their skill bars in the center I completely understand and they should have that option. But for Mabinogi I like my skills in the top left corner of the screen and chat the bottom center area where skill bars normally go. Mabinogi has kept me hooked for 16 years with this kind of interface. They should know some of us are to old to change anymore, give us something familiar 🤣
I'm hoping for the UI to be a bit more like FFXIV. Lots more customization to how I want the UI to look, but I can be able to move the UI to the place I want and settle for the default UI design if I don't want to change anything. The ping is also really bad in NA, so here's to hoping it improves as well.
Omggg am gonna finally get back into mabinogi! I LOVE the new smaller UI, its so much more modern and less clunky- i could see a bigger crowd joining in
Since 2008 mabi has been special to me so I might be critical, the visuals look awesome I just hope they keep the charm and originality of what we know mabi to be
The only thing i want is for the game to be less reliant on ping. I can't put my finger on it, but i just feel like playing FF XIV, Guild Wars 2 and other MMOs feels like, even if i live in south america, i can still play very decently with around 200 ping or more
For me way back in the day, as in early 2010s, we had to make a registry edit for the game to have better reactivity in game lol… it has had latency issues since it began it seems.
Its mostly cause the tcp protocol the game runs on is... a bit of a spaghetti code of things iterated upon for years at this point. When you dig into it, its a bit of a complicated mess and this is why UDP exists in modern day.
I haven’t played since 2015 I think. Hopefully they follow The First Descendant for the color dyeing instead of the RNG system they, both Mabi (and I think Vindictus) & TFD, had back then. For TFD they used the Nexon style rng color dyeing and got royally roasted for it. The live game iirc just lets you pick the exact color now. As a side note, I even told myself I was gonna do an inventory listing project for every thing i have and reorganize it all even after I had quit. I haven’t done it yet haha even while it’s installed and updated on Steam still.
Sounds like TFD went in the right direction when it comes to dyes! I think the inventory project for you will never get done - I still play the game and everytime I look at my inventory I'm like "I'll do it next time" 😂
Changing clothes, shoes, hat, gloves, etc... Should have an animation of changing and I hope they better the dinamics of combat and add new skills for all classes. Should be cool if you could get new skills.
The new director has recently implemented a bunch of QOL changes and even mentioned that Mabi is dated. I think once UE5 rolls out we'll also have a more modern Mabinogi with tons of QOL. I'm thinking in vain of FF14 ARR
I think with the UE system its gonna clear a good chunk of the clunkiness up cause the biggest issue for me with it is its slow and delayed af. Im hoping with the update since we get all new animations and the like itll be smoother
i know they are not trying to change our characters cause some of us are attached to them but i feel like a little change to them will be better cause they still look meh while everything else looks amazing. idk
Reworking the animation would be nice. Perhaps some kind of generation of intermediate frames with a slight adjustment. I would like a little more smoothness.
yeeess, what the hell is that bag stuff. You received an item and don't know where it is! You have to open an incredible bad inventory that shows super tiny items that i almost can't see and some enormous which occupies everything. The time i spent removing and trying to categorize event items, crystals, pots, equips, event equips, gifts, etc. is just horrible.
Well they are essentially porting the game to a new engine it's way to early for them to care about nice uis, to be honest I am more worried about what would be lost in the transition than aesthetics
The general guess in both the NA community and KR community does seem to be sometime in 2026. Some players think it could take a little longer that. Korea usually updates their Eternity site in late December and whenever they have their next Fantasy Party. So all we can do is keep track of their progress and try to make a guess based off of what they show us.
Personally I've always liked the low poly models and insane UI, I hope they have some sort of toggleable legacy mode where you can switch to the original assets and UI or something. I don't think my characters will feel the same to me if they were updated and had real fingers and smooth features. The lighting and world lookin great though and I'm exited for that, and unreal engine has more native support for 3D monitors and VR witch I'm a fan of and use both.
I was hoping they weren't going to use that same Diablo-esqe inventory system. Having all those bags surround the screen if you have a lot of them is awful. Especially when you're in battle and you got to open up your inventory and it blocks the screen.
I grew up with korean MMORPG so I'm quite picky with the visuals I like for games like this, for me this still looks quite generic design wise to the point it looked like it will be suffering from obscurity when it releases, I hope they will at least give more quirks to their designs that will basically distinct themselves, far more than their old competitors(ragnarok, seal, etc) that you can tell immediately from first glance at bare minimum, especially in 2024 and so on where competition of online games is fierce
Haters are gonna hate I guess. I get it, Nexon is not super popular with everyone so some people just want Nexon to fail. But I hope this update is massive success and can change your mind. This game still has a lot to offer players and this update is all about giving those players some much needed hope. A game like this deserves a second chance and that is a dream I would never want taken away from any player.

Yeah the WIP ui with how small that skill bar is has me worried. I am all for a ui refresh but it shouldn't limit our options.
If they do decide to have the default size as small - I'm hoping there's options to customize it to our liking (size, position, colors)

IM HYPE
Brings back memories. Definitely jumping in again when the new engine is implemented!
Wow Mabinogi is looking great! I remember playing this forever ago, cant wait to jump back in with all the new changes. :D
might not happen for 1-3 more years. personalllyyyy, i kinda want them to make a new game like mabinogi lol.
Omggg am gonna finally get back into mabinogi! I LOVE the new smaller UI, its so much more modern and less clunky- i could see a bigger crowd joining in
im more glad to see that nexon is atleast somewhat confident about the longevity of mabi to justify investing in this
Since 2008 mabi has been special to me so I might be critical, the visuals look awesome I just hope they keep the charm and originality of what we know mabi to be
Once we get Unreal 5, we get VR
I recently got back into it, been playing a lot. And then I see this drop lol.
Welcome back! How are you finding it so far?
@@The_RealH3R0 great, made grandmaster warrior and almost to GM Mage. But trying to get through the main story as top priority
That's some good progress! Are you going for Elemental Knight?
@@The_RealH3R0 I was, but I'm starting to veer towards dark diviner since I also really like chain slasher and I'm an elf
Dark Diviner is really good early on to give good damage and help you solo content!

I hope the movement is improved
my dream of a game that combo night day and weather cycles…. hope it have a class that wields 2hand Big greatsword 👍
Awesome, thanks! I’m most hoping for true UI scalability so I can run in 4K with the UI resized up!
Fingers crossed! Same here.

Idk if remaking in in UE5 is gonna be enough. The biggest thing holding this game back is the archaic design when it comes to combat/ui/progression.

What about the oldest outfit models? Will they be revised?
From what I understood they're going to port everything and try to revise everything but might revise older outfits over time
While they are at it. They need to overhaul that UI.
it's most likely placeholder UI
Well they are essentially porting the game to a new engine it's way to early for them to care about nice uis, to be honest I am more worried about what would be lost in the transition than aesthetics

Part of me wants to guess post-2026, but historically nexon moves pretty quickly once they get going. It would be awesome to see this so soon.
I just hope an update to the combat to a be a bit more engaging.
Are they remaking some areas?
They're remaking the entire game in Unreal Engine!

If you translate the clothes names there is no (F) or (M) sooooo maybe no gender restrictions???
That would be a crazy change and hopefully its real lol

If the gameplay isn't being overhauled, then all this is a waste.
can't wait for this to turn up a total failure
