New York City buildings, tunnels, and bridges are absolutely stunning!!
i’m glad someone still calls it the “tappan zee” bridge.
To me, it’ll always be the “Tappan Zee” bridge. I hate New York changing names for political reasons. What was wrong with the Interboro? The Triboro? The Queensboro? The Battery Tunnel? Growing up, I knew the subways as the IND, the BMT, and the IRT (my father referred to them as that) and since I was born in ‘62, I never really knew anything but JFK.
My dad always calls it the Tappan Zee. I just call it the new Tappan Zee bridge
The Tappan Zee bridge is about 25 miles north of nyc. And nobody in NYS or nyc calls it by that name except the insane nyc radical liberals that forced that name change.
I think it is also interesting that driving on different levels or bounds of those bridges and tunnels would be a very different experience. The best example for me is Queensboro Bridge, upper level, lower level & lower level outer lane, you can definitely feel different road quality, and notice different exits and ramps connected to each of them. It is good when you know where you are heading to, it is bad when your GPS cannot tell which level you are in :)
Turn on precise location while using the app or set to ask and regular location service needs to be set while using the app and ask when the app is closed or else Your maps apps will freak out and keep saying recalculating and end your trip
Thank you for sharing all the tunnels and bridges I've been in two tunnels and about Four Bridges I really appreciate it
Looks nice to check out the bridges and tunnels in NYC
I wish there were more bridges like this in the Charlotte area.
A very nice compilation drive on the bridges and tunnels in the NYC metro area. My favorite bridges are the new Tappan Zee (thanks for both and night crossings), and the Verrazano. My favorite tunnel is the Queens-Midtown.
Was watching this last night.was in hendersonville.at my friends house.actually.his roomates.watched it while he was busy.washing clothes.runnin back n forth.had to stop it halfway thru.time to go night night..nice video.my favorites still the brooklyn bridge
The George Washington bridge between Manhattan & Ft. Lee, NJ was featured in a great high speed chase in the movie "The Seven Ups" back in the 1970s.
I’ve been to Williamsburg bridge before
Although, NYC infrastucture is very outdated.... I LOVE IT! I feel like it makes it more better and nostalgic.
Yeah, the bridges are a marvel to behold despite some of the other challenges in the area.
The TZ night drive was a nice one to include
Would you charge a person to take him on this run so he could see it first hand? Could you do it without the government swooping in and shutting you down? "Asking for a friend" 🤣🤪
EDIT: Very nice video BTW, good job!
Only about 15 miles separates the Tappan Zee Bridge 47:57 at the Hudson’s widest point and the Bear Mountain Bridge 51:07 at its narrowest point south of Albany. The river narrows to a quarter mile in its deep cut through the Ramapo Mountains and then quickly opens up to a width of 3 miles in the Tappan Zee!
Eye enjoy crossing the The Throgs Neck Bridge often.
Brave man.
I lived in New York most of my life, so I crossed all those bridges and went through all the tunnels.
But there are 10 more smaller bridges that link Manhattan and The Bronx.
I've only been on 4 of them. McCombs, Third Avenue, Willis Avenue, and Madison. Never needed to cross into the city further north.
I once drove over Madison Avenue Bridge and I missed the entry into FDR Drive. I drove through a burnt-out section of Harlem, in the middle of the winter, until I hit the 90s. That was quite an adventure.
Massive thank you for putting this video out! I make IRL realistic maps for video games and this video, along with your I-278 East (BQE) video has allowed me to make a perfect 1:1 scale map for Forza Horizon 5! If it wasn't for your channel I wouldn't have been able to create it within such minute details. So again, Thank you!
nice
45:34 kind of you to put the skyway here 😅 and tappan zee bridge you went all over for this one. Great content
Best video on RUclips for this kind of stuff
Best part: no music, just the sounds of the road
It's obvious to know that not all bridges across NYC are tolled. However, the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges are free to use as 2 freeway gateways between Brooklyn and Manhattan which are 2 of my favorite bridges in NYC.
Gotta love that Brooklyn Bridge view.
Don’t forget the Williamsburg… I don’t think that’s tolled either. I think the only East River crossings tolled to Manhattan are the Triboro/RFK and the Midtown Tunnel. Most of the other crossings aren’t TBTA.. which is now part of the MTA.
@@JimAllen-Persona Don't forget the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel!
@@ryanearles2024 battery tunnel has tolls
@@doh-nc8ku I know. I didn't say that the Battery Tunnel is free
The Bayonne Bridge has some harmonic noisy road paving.
Hey why did you leave out “The City Island bridge” connecting The Bronx with City Island, I guess it’s not big or long enough to drive across and be mention…….like The Willis Ave, 3rd Ave, Madison Ave, along. With so many others that cross the Harlem River from Manhattan to The Bronx
I hope there is a part 2 cause you missed The Willis Ave Bridge, 3rd Ave Bridge, Madison Ave Bridge, 145th Street Bridge, 155tg Street Bridge, 207th Street Bridge and The Marine Parkway Bridge in Brooklyn
Those bridges don’t have names other than the street
You have like 600 bridges all over New York that don’t last very long driving across
These are the major ones
@@doh-nc8ku Cross Bay Veterans Memorial Bridge and Gil Hodges Memorial Bridge are not street names
I love NYC!
Not to sound rude, but why are the Bear Mtn, Pulaski Skyway and Tappan Zee/GMC bridges on here? They aren't NYC (in fact BMB is closer to Upstate than the city.).
Also where's the Anne Hutchinson Parkway Bridge that connects the Bronx to both Pelham and New Rochelle?
Othan that, this was a cool video.😮
I used to read maps of NY bridges and you cross them all in an hour!?$$
where is the Cross Bay Bridge and the Marine Parkway Gil Hodges Memorial Bridge? Need to redefine "All"
Thankfully, all of NYC bridges are safe following the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, MD back on Tuesday that I just saw the video where a cargo ship smacked the pillar and destroyed the entire bridge completely, and that was sad.
Did you ever take a look at the GW bridge the bottom deck is literally falling apart
Did you have to take out a second mortgage to afford all the tolls? /s
Haha my EZ Pass Statement was crazy by the time I finally left New York.
Is this the same tunnel from the movie daylight?
Yep
@@MileageMikeTravels wow
I often wonder why in some cases the tunnel was the choice while in other spots building a bridge was the way to go.
aint no WAY I just saw a build that I ALWAYS come across 💀💀💀
Hugh L. Carey Tunnel looked like Queens Midtown Tunnel
Why don't you list the tunnels and bridges with their interstate designation.
You must of had to shell out the bucks to drive through all those bridges and tunnels
Oh yeah the EZ-Pass statement was crazy after I left NYC.
One expensive video
Isn't it the Mario Cuomo Bridge?? The Tappan Zee was torn down.
Most still refer to it as the Tappan Zee anyway
I wish I saw the Robert moses on here with the fire island bridge
