Don't do this with a work machine. It's fine for a home PC that plays games-probably-but WMI is used in business software. Some things just don't work without it.

I have the same problem. And if all the solution doesn't work, try to scan with Hitman pro, or other malware/trojan removal. It turns out, the trojan is disguise as windows provider host !!

is there a way to make the wmi run again? im not really sure but after i forced the wmi ph to stop, my input audio doesnt connect with my mic from headphone. also, my voicemod program keeps sending the error that written driver not found. hope u can help...

yeah wmiprsv is a critical windows component and i have just disabled it

The cause of this issue is because an app you have installed on your computer is using a handle of wmi provider and isnt desposing of its memory correctly, if you reset your computer it will fix it but if you install all your apps again you will have the same issue, its usually a amd driver or some sort of kernel level driver
