This song expresses exactly how I felt in high school. I wasn't bullied, I was ignored. There were days when bullying would have made me feel like I was there. In some ways, being insignificant hurts as much as being bullied. Amy Lee, much love and respect.
I sympathize. Feeling ignored is its own kind of pain, and unlike bullying it is nearly impossible to punish (even if you did tell a teacher, what's she gonna do about it?). I hope your life is better now.
In the 4th grade I was cursed at and bullied by this younger girl for the whole year on the bus while I only knew the fallen album from evanescence I still can relate to the song now.
I was bullied by students, teachers, at school and at home, had my arm nearly broken at age 8 by an older kid on the bus, was ridiculed by my entire class so bad, right before Christmas break, that I felt like killing myself; but boy, I'd sure hate to be you 🙄
This song describes my entire life with just a few lyrics I wasn't just bullied since I was in kindergarten I was also mistreated and abused by my teachers and to top it all up I didn't had any friends not a single one was ever there for me even my own family treated me like I was a black sheep meanwhile my brother was treated às royalty the perfect child in everyway I was ignored and left behind in forgotten in the shadows even up till this day those memories keep haunting me

I am a triplet and both of my siblings are very smart and accomplished. I am often seen as the bad sibling and blamed for everything. It hurts so much to feel unimportant and essentially the lesser version of the both of them
To me, this song represents one of my worst fears: being forgotten, utterly and completely. I hate thinking about what would happen to me if that particular fear came true...

This song is my absolute favourite Evanescence song. This song made me cry, and to this day is the only song which has ever done that to me. This song scares me in a way that makes me think deeply, and it's just so beautiful. "Though I'd die to know you love me", "Isn't someone missing me" Those lines rip my heart out every time.

First time I heard it was because I asked my friend to send me som calm songs that I might be able to fall asleep to. She sent me this. I listened to a little bit of the beginning just to make sure and then added it to a playlist on youtube not really knowing what the song was about. Then, at 1 o'clock at night it starts playing and I actually listen to it. I had to go turn it off because it made me cry so hard.

Aww missing. My favorite song. It's weird to even say that becuz honestly I always would play this during my depression when I was thinking of suicide. Thankfully I didn't go thru with it but I still love this song

This song for me is so relatable. I’m always thought of as the blind girl, not who I actually am. People make judgements about me, because of my blindness, and don’t just take the time to get to know me. Sometimes I just feel invisible because Everyone thinks I’m something that I am not. It hurts.

Yes, it was. It was recorded during the 2001-2002 demos and included as a B-side on the Australian "Bring Me to Life" commercial single. It was originally intended to be included in Fallen, but was instead later released on the CD Anywhere but Home.
