    Old School I love it!
Maybe considered out of fashion. Practicing Old School ways will Never lead you towards a dangerous path.
Old school ways teach one early in life. How to conduct yourself in public, proper way to treat a lady, when to speak when to listen and finally most important.
Old School teaches you how to treat another person!

Part of that is that the children should be heard. The only way you know your child is understanding and processing the world around them is by talking to them and learning what they know and see if they need help and guidance. So that see and not heard thing is a crock. My grandfather never spoke to my mom in the first 26 years of her life. Even when my grandmother asked my mom, grandpa said to her, "why are you talking to our daughter? she's just a kid, she has nothing important to say." What the hell kind of thing is that to say for and about your child?

I didn't learn respect at my own dinner table, I learned it spending time with my grandparents, my grandfather was of Irish descent and he never said a bad word about anyone and was the center of attention at every party and celebration, but you knew what he meant when he said, "who's that fella you were talking to over there" we used to talk about James Cagney and Our Gang, Fatty Arbuckle and Lindbergh, I was a kid and appreciated he always took the time to talk to a 5 or 10 yr old about his life, I remember he told me all about the depression and how tough it was, he would grab a tomato, potato and onion from the garden for school and eat them raw, oh boy, despite that he was built like Charles Atlas even into his 70s, miss that mans advice every day since 1994 when he passed, the most solid man I ever knew and was more a father than grandfather.

I was concerned for her or anybody driving the up ramp. I hailed her down to advise her. She opened her window and yelled out. " Mind your business"...I went back to work and laughed all afternoon. I worked at that time in a prominently italian area...
