I loved your fantasy self at the pool story. I bet you fantasies about a dedicated sewing room in a larger house. I think you will enjoy sewing even more and get more projects done when you no longer have to rearrange your whole bedroom before you can start sewing. Despite a job, kids and living in a small apartment you still find the time and energy to make lovely clothes and share it with us on RUclips. This blouse has turned out really lovely, soft, romantic, vintage.

I do, and we're starting to work towards making that a reality! But mostly I fantasize about running away and opening a boutique hotel on a hot island. I'd hate it after a week but it's fun to think about!

have the Gilbert in my pattern stash, but I had forgotten about it because I got it in winter. Your marriage of this lovely print with the camp shirt was inspired. And like Amie, I noticed that your lipstick matches gorgeously.

Very pretty blouse. This is just the kind of top I love in the summer. I have this pattern but haven’t made yet, you’ve inspired me to get going and sew it. The fabric looks lovely. I’m going to check this fabric store out. That’s so wonderful they considered you to help advertise their fabric, so cool! Shows you are doing a great job here in many ways! Oh and you look great in that lip color your wearing!
    Take care.

Absolutely beautiful summer shirt, Megan. The fabric is gorgeous on you, and you look so comfortable and confident in it. I recently refashioned an old cotton lawn dress into the Norma Blouse, but I had to shorten the sleeves due to fabric constraints. It turned out so pretty. Once I get my butt in gear for photos, I'll share it!

Love your blouse. His video actually got me thinking and I don’t think I’ve ever uses cotton lawn even though I’ve heard and seen it for years. I’ll have to give it a try this summer. DC gets super hot and humid so it would be perfect

Your fabric choice for your Gilbert top was so perfect and I'm glad you could vouch for the quality. I will definitely have to take a look at their fabric. My summer sewing plans are cool woven tops and it sounds like they have a lot of suitable fabrics. Thanks for your review Megan.

What a beautiful blouse, and that fabric, oh my! It's funny you said the fabric reminded you of a well-worn bedsheet because I thought it reminded me of a vintage bedsheet. I've been looking for vintage sheets to make a button-up shirt, but I can only find them in cotton-poly blends and I don't use polyester. I'll definitely check out their cotton lawn fabrics.
It's not odd that you're taking fashion cues from your grandmother. This year, one of my projects is recreating pieces inspired by clothes my mom owned that I loved as a kid.

    • @MeganGMakes

Thanks, Carol! I have found some beautiful fabric that's turned out to be poly cotton, and I know it won't be as comfortable to wear. I think this is a great option!

I’m sure this’ll be yet another interesting and informative video once I find a way to listen to it. I wonder if I’m the only one who struggles with the low volume? I’ve got both my iPad and my external speaker cranked to maximum volume but you’re so much more soft-spoken than usual today that I can’t catch much of what you’re saying. Not a complaint! Just an alert in case it’s a microphone issue. Thanks for what you do!

So pretty the fabric and pattern combination. Very flattering. And it matches your lipstick. ! What type of jacket or sweater do you find this collar type works well with? I also live in calgary and find I would be cold just wearing the blouse. Thank you
