Hey Cooley! good to see u back, your tank & everything in it looks really good. When I had a Fluval 13.05 I changed the pump for an Eheim compact on 1000 & it changed the flow altogether! 😀👍
Tank looks great. I started getting an algae outbreak in my Evo once I started feeding corals with reef roids (and I was being careful not to over do it). Was going to go with the UV you use. But makes sense to put it in chamber 1. Have to rethink the filtration now. Maybe get an in tank basket for chamber two. But your results are encouraging.
Yeah, I was worried about the filtration with the UV sterilizer in the first chamber also. I’m just using filter floss on top of it and a small bag of carbon in the second chamber and it seems to be working so far!
we added reef roids to our 60gal breeder tank and had a massive outbreak about 1-2 weeks later. UV and constant filter cleaning fixed that, but took about 2-3 weeks.
I keep a uv light on standby for this exact thing. However, I don't run the uv light unless needed. P.S. Tank looks beautiful, minus the Xenia (aka tank herpes).
it looks like your water level in your filter chambers is a tiny bit low.. the return can be sucking in a little air.. i had a tough time dialing in the water level on my waterbox peninsula mini
Pretty much all were frags and have grown quite a bit. The finger leather was pretty big when I got it but it has gotten bigger since I got it! Thanks 🙏🏻
So when you say filter floss is that the Poly FIL, or are you not using Poly fill anymore? So by my understanding you, have filter floss on top of UV light in chamber 1, BRS Carbon in chamber 2 only. The Eheim compacton 1000 is in the last chamber with the heater? What heater are you using if I may ask?
Hygger Mini 100w heater I have also switched my pump to Syncra Silent 0.5 Pump (185 GPH) - Sicce. The eheim is a good pump I was getting micro bubbles so I switched to a different pump. Either way will be fine. I did switch from the poly fill to filter floss since I put the UV in the first chamber. I started with the stock equipment and made adjustments as I felt there was a need for something different. Just don’t get to many fish and over feed. Keep a eye on your nitrates and phosphates, especially when your tank is fully cycled. Keep up with your maintenance and be patient with any changes. If you do those things you will be good 👍 Good luck

I am kinda excited to see how your new tank experience is going to translate from the EVO. I also wanted to use the EVO as my training ground to learn and understand the basics and hopefully have a healthy ecosystem. In 2 years I plan on getting a larger system, it has been a childhood dream. Thanks again! Keep us updated on all the little steps and decisions you make on the new aquarium even if they are just 4 minute videos.
I would say the micro bubbles are due to the pump being a bit too powerful and or you could have some loose connections in your plumbing where it is sucking in air.
That sounds like it could definitely be one of those. I’m going to to have to get everything out and make sure the connections are good 👍 thanks for the input!
Tanks looking great, still waiting to sell my last fish so I can shut down my 300ltr tank and set up the Fluval eve, is the UV steriliser made for the Evo? As I can imagine getting one small enough to fit in a Fluval evo🤷🏻♂️
No, it’s not designed specifically for the Fluval Evo 13.5 but is designed for another aio nano tank. I can’t remember off the top of my head which tank but it fits fine in the Evo. 👍

It should be fine as far as bio load goes. The clownfish shouldn’t bother it to much. As long as it’s a healthy fish that’s accustomed to living in a fish tank you should be good to go! 👍

How’d you actually get the old pump out? I’ve been needing to clean grape algae out but can’t even get the pump out

I have an Evo 13.5 as well. I have two clownfish and a molly. Do you think I can put a fire fish in the evo and remove the molly ?
It should be fine as far as bio load goes. The clownfish shouldn’t bother it to much. As long as it’s a healthy fish that’s accustomed to living in a fish tank you should be good to go! 👍
